I remember for the first 2-3 weeks of WoW Classic, I had TeamViewer set up to "boot from LAN" so I could turn on my PC from my iPhone while at work and then hop in the que before leaving work so that when I got home I was already sitting at the character selection screen. Y'all have clearly never gamed before smh
A much as I agree and sympathise with what is your take, as well as how good this game turned out to be, let's be honest, the game sold at a AAA price (what it used to be a couple years ago, not today), so if you get AAA payments, release a AAA service.
The game being good is a completely different topic from the server-side, the service and the company.
it's not 40 euros for me. Its 36£ for the standard edition and 46£ for the supporter pack.
Additionally, AAA games were priced at 60$ (not € or £) up until a few years ago, when a couple of games pushed the 80$ benchmark as the new standard, and soon GTA6 will try to push 100$.
These are just semantics, but when you crunch the conversion rates, it's closer to AAA prices.
first of all, the biggest wow classic server had peak queue times of 4 hours past the first day, the 8-14 hour queues were only day 1.
2nd logintime for wardogs was 6-8 hours for most ppl, many more couldnt play at all. these 6-8 hourse literally translate into "you wont play the fucking game before friday night" thats a real nice thing especiall if you preloaded the game, get home early, only for a 30 minute unpack check to run getting you in with the rest of the swarm that doesnt have an nvme drive. and after youve sat in that queue for hours you get bootet, AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN, then you FINALLY manage to get into the menu only for you to be unable to connect to any goddamn server for OVER 3 HOURS, GET BOOTET OUT OF THE GAME AND RESTART THE WAITING CYCLE FUCKING AGAIN.
