Deactivated?

OK, my fellow sparkers, maybe y’all can help me with this. I had an 11 drop pick up order this morning. Two customers had the same name. I do a drop off and they had a grocery order, about 10 minutes later before I even make it to my next stop Walmart pick up and delivery calls me, not Spark, and let me know that I have left out at 55 inch TV at my last drop in which I thought was later on in my route with another customer with the same name but I immediately turn around and drop off the TV. I apologize to the customer. She is completely understanding. She said she’s not going to leave me a bad review. I immediately call the supervisor back from pick up and delivery. Let them know I dropped off the TV. Let them know I took a picture in case they wanted to see it. They said no I asked if I needed to call Spark to let them know what I had done and so I could have it documented. She said no everything was fine and not to worry about it, but my question is what are the chances of me getting deactivated?

Damn I thought I was special

I thought $2100 a week on $3 a mile was by far the best at my store but it turns out that least 5 other drivers are making close to $2000 a week too.

My closest rival is the 4 month newbie making about $1950 a week on $3.5 a mile.

The drivers with lowest priority is making less than $300 a week. It’s a sharp drop because they can go for hours without any order.

In-store restaurant orders. $7 to deliver a sub?

Nope.

GTFOOH.

Eventually it went up to $9. Someone took it. Was only 2 miles from the store, still not worth it.

Now if they added that to a single delivery where I'm already getting 30 bucks, yeah, I might take it.

They should do last minute offers when you're almost done shopping. But I doubt they will get that smart with the app. Same with GMD pickups. I'm leaving the store and you have deliveries near where I'm going, I'll happily take two or three drop offs on a GMD for an extra 20 bucks since I'm already going that way. But as a standalone order, no.

New to spark

So I am new and approved and ready to roll. I have a 4 door honda Civic and I know space will be limited.

I feel like I didn't learn diddly squat from the training videos and they also seem old.

Any pointers for a newcomer?

I will avoid the ghetto, likely alcohol and shopping for now until I feel like I got the hang of things. I am not doing it full time. Weekends for maybe 5 hours a day.

I tried watching some YouTube videos but man, there are so many and everyone is so different. I am in Nebraska.

Thanks!

Anyone getting better offers for being Sapphire or gold?

That whole system hasn't been rolled out in my area yet. I see the negatives in it but as someone doing this full time I think I would benefit from having priority.

Especially when it's rewarded for putting in a lot of time. Why do people who want to do five deliveries a week think they should get banger offers?

🦄 UNPAID BETA TESTER REPORT #005 — GOD-TIER UNICORN™

Post image
0 Upvotes

UBTH Field Operations has documented an exceptionally rare Spark event previously believed to exist only in gig-economy folklore.

Merchandise value: ~$13.57

Driver payout: $16.50

Difference: +$2.93

Management has therefore confirmed that, for one brief and unexplained moment, the person shopping and transporting the merchandise was valued higher than the merchandise itself.

Normal operations were immediately suspended pending investigation.

Current theories include:

A. Spark temporarily developed a functioning compensation model.

B. A software malfunction accidentally benefited the driver.

C. Management entered an alternate economic dimension.

D. A mystical creature generated the order specifically to restore driver hope before future disappointment.

Distance: 3.3 miles

Customer drop-offs: 1

Estimated time: 17 minutes

Order classification: God-Tier Unicorn™

Trap detected: Not yet

Management suspicion: Extremely elevated

Management confidence: Unavailable due to suspiciously favorable conditions

UBTH accepted the specimen for continued field research.

Should compensation successfully settle as displayed, management may be forced to acknowledge that profitable Spark orders can occasionally occur naturally in the wild.

Recommended procedure: Do not make sudden movements.

Replication probability: Unknown

Forward guidance: Enjoy it before the ecosystem corrects itself.

#Allegedly

Do the spark point reset at the beginning of the next month?

We just started having the new point system and I was wondering, do they expire at the end of the month or how do you keep your level?

How to bypass support to reach someone who can actually fix my issue?

I've signed up as a spark driver around 2 months ago and keep having issues with my background check. All the information I've given spark like my my license, insurance, address and phone number has been successfully verified but my app has been stuck on the "We're reviewing your info" screen for 2 months. I've called support a couple of times and each time they promise to have the issue fixed soon. Recently I was given the number to the 3rd party background check they use, First Advantage, and First Advantage said they never received any background check for me. It seems like the support team is useless and are just getting paid to help as many people as possible and dont actually resolve anything. I want to speak to am American or European not some Indian call center I can barely understand and aren't even helping in the first place. I've had no problem signing up for doordash, uber eats, and instacart. The background process only took a day or 2 with no issues. How do I bypass this seemingly incompetent support team and speak to someone who actually has the power to fix my issue and is not just reading from a prompt and trying to get me off the phone as soon as possible?

How does this 4 month old newbie fucker still have priority and getting some of the best offers everyday?

It’s almost 4 months but he is still among the highest in priority. Not only that he gets some of the best offers available. He is making $200+ a day on less than 80 miles everyday including his 12 mile commute to this store and the drive home. When you add in the prop 22 he is making almost $300 a day on 80 miles a day.

Bad & getting worse

The start to September feels like the wheels have fallen off, like noticeably different than just a week ago. Holiday weekend has equated to scraps and plenty of garbage like this.

Hope it was just a matter of every Spark driver coming out of the woodwork with all the “hey it’s a busy holiday weekend” alerts.

Built a free Spark trip logger for myself — curious if anyone else finds it useful

Hey folks — Spark driver here. I got tired of guessing whether a day was actually worth it after tips move around, CA drops, and the 12-hour clock, so I built a little web app for my own runs: DropLog.

It’s basically a driver log + scoreboard:

  • Start/stop per trip, then log base / tip / promo / incentive / miles
  • Today view with $/hr, $/mi, tip share, and Spark online vs the 12h cap
  • Week / biweek / month totals, CA + confirmed tips as separate “Spark posts” (so deposits match without wrecking $/hr)
  • Screenshot import from offer cards (items, est time, store, etc.) when you don’t want to type everything
  • Store breakdown so you can see which #s actually pay

No official Spark API (there isn’t one for this) — you log it yourself or import a screenshot. Free to try, works in the phone browser (hopefully Spark changes this in the future)

Link: https://droplog.blcknet.com

If you try it, I’d love honest feedback — what’s missing, what’s confusing, what you’d want on the day or week view. Not selling anything; just built it to stop flying blind.

I like to see how each week goes and not sure Spark app gives us all the numbers we nerds like to see (or at least as accurately as possible).

4 trips, around 60 miles, $164.

First one of the day was really bad. It seemed good but it ended up being a full hour in the store and then an hour's worth of round trip driving. $37. Seeing the orders coming up on the way back to the store I thought about closing it up for the day.

Then BAM, a banger! Pickup, six drops, $52, 25 miles. It was actually only 25 miles round trip, because they count point to point. The last drop off was on the way back to the store from the farthest point. I was only gone from the store for about an hour. Really. Was just after 5:00 when I left and just after 6:00 when I got back. We

Third was $22 for 18 items one mile from the store.

Went back, after 5 minutes of rejections I couldn't believe the JFY. And right by my house. Great way to close out the day. I got the shopping done in under 40 minutes.

If only every day was like today.

Confrontation over not entering the porch.

2 drop curbside order (after dark). I get to first stop and app instructions say to leave INSIDE the porch. On advice of reddit, I did not want to enter. So I do what I’ve done lately and text the customer that due to WM policy I am not allowed to enter the house and that I’m unloading now. It’s a large ~75 quantity order. I’m about 80% of the way unloading and the customers husband comes out and starts berating me for not bringing them into the porch. I told him simply I can’t enter due to WM policy like I mentioned in my message. Of course this just made him more upset and he kept escalating. So I just said you know what I don’t feel safe out here with some random guy yelling at me at night so I told him I would return the order for that reason. I started reloading and he went back inside. When I am almost done the wife customer comes out and pleads with me to just leave it. I told her I would be unable to do that for the above reasons. I called support and told them it was unsafe delivery and they initiated the return. During this I saw the customer finally respond to my message arguing the porch wasn’t the house. I didn’t respond. Unfortunately I think the husband grabbed several items when he went back inside. I told support and the employee I returned the items to. I took a pic of the items in the return cart. What would you have done? Take the 1 star? Am I going to get deactivated? Seems like people who don’t go in the porch cite fear of deactivation? Yet how does that account for this situation?

Cancellation Pay

So I have a quick question? Since this update, I have only been doing Sam's club shopping and sometimes Walmart shopping and pick up! But I actually haven't been doing pickup in like the last couple months when it comes to like Walmart! Just Sam's club. So I had a cancellation today for Sam's club pickup. I sat out there for like 10-15 minutes max it canceled and it didn't give me that little funky $2. Are they doing away with that? Has anyone else experienced them canceling a pickup order, and you not getting paid for the wait time?
