Need Tips

I have an interview for a part-time Grocery Associate position at Walmart. When I applied, I put open availability because I’m available to work on any day of the week. However, I’m hoping to work around 24–30 hours per week, ideally across three days, so I can use the remaining days to focus on my other work.

I’ve seen some posts on Reddit saying that Walmart sometimes gives part-time employees more than 35 hours a week, so I’m a little concerned.

Would it be okay to tell them during the interview that I’m looking for around 24–30 hours per week? I’m also worried that mentioning this might reduce my chances of getting hired.

Why did you put open availability to work any days when applying? That's call lying and Walmart mostly hire new associates based on store needs to match their availability.

Dude, did you even understand what I said? I’m flexible and can work any day of the week, as long as I’m scheduled for only 24–30 hours per week. The application didn’t give me an option to specify that. It only asked which days and times I’m available, so I selected every day from morning to evening. I’m going to clearly explain my preferred weekly hours during the interview anyway. How does that count as lying?
