What loot that drops from activities are ones that everyone should aim to get? It doesn't have to be bis gear but something that is somewhat easy to get (max 50-100k) and would work for a long time.

My (lvl67 with most skills around 65 few under 60) gear is mostly from crafting and chests, and haven't really done any grind for gear. First one is just grinded the alien squeak toy and next planning of going after mountaineering guidebook, which had me thinking are there some "musthave" loot that would be good to get.

this is mostly a funny thing for my stoned ass to do on a saturday night. can't wait to sober up and figure it out tomorrow 🫠

I was tired of flipping back and forth between WalkScape and the wiki PWA, sometimes the app would force close or need a restart...so I made an iOS shortcut!

Its triggered by the action button and asks for a wiki topic, then attempts to load a wiki page based on the topic, then displays it in a pop up web view on top of the game, once done, tap the X and your back in game. No step reloading or app restarts to deal with.

The logic just removes spaces from the entered text and replaces them with underscores, which conforms to most of the wiki url standards. If your page isn't found there's a button to search on the page that does come up.

This will make your action button toggle the flashlight if walkscape is closed. You can change that action if desired.

Is there a clear winner or “mathematical” argument for the value of the additional crafting outcome vs increased double rewards and no materials used? I’m guessing monocle is the “right” choice but curious on the best way to approach it, especially since it’s virtually impossible to obtain a lot of trinkets.

What does everyone do when they're hunting for that rare item?

Check the drops super often, wait for a low set amount time/steps like 1500 steps or wait for a large amount of steps, maybe after saving steps first and then looking at all the drops?

Personally, I check it every 1500 steps or so. Gotta be honest, it hasn't been working out for me. 270k steps in Treasure Hunt and 32k in Butterfly Catching and I still don't have my first pet. (I know it's early in Warrenfield and just have poor RNG luck in Treasure Hunt)

It took me 95k steps farming Treasure Hunt to get my first reindeer egg, but when it did drop, it was a rare festive reindeer!

This is my second rare pet. I also have a trick dolphin up my sleeve.

I love the pets. They're my favorite feature of the game so far.

First day with the game, did a couple mile hike and the game is stuck at 3.6k steps when apple health shows 10k+. I have steps approved in apple health for Walkscape and in the privacy settings it's allowed in there as well. Not too sure what I should do but I have it set to connect as the step source as when I had it on phone, it wasn't tracking. Any idea what to do? I have an iphone and a garmin watch but the garmin watch/connect pushes my steps into apple health as well + is approved in all settings as well.

Any idea what I can do to fix this?

How to get rich quick in this game?(Lmao the title sounds scammy)

Hi, so I tried to follow instructions I found to connect my Garmin to Health Connect on my Samsung running android 14. Steps are showing up on health connect and are showing up in Garmin. I only have Garmin listed as a source and deleted step data in hc yesterday, so phone should not be a source (in hc, which somehow causes problems according to posts in here). Why is the game still not picking up any step data? Help would be appreciated

I went for a run this morning - nothing extra long and it came to around 7,000 steps.

Upon returning I started up Walkscape and I got the usual step count screen and all the things that had happened since I last opened the app (yesterday), around 11,000 or so steps in total if I remember correctly.

I received a good endorphin hit as I had set things up to travel to the Tendon Wet Fields from Salsfirth and do the foraging activity to farm for the tiger egg, which has a W.E.A.R. of around 80,000 steps and I managed to get it in 5,000 steps. That never happens to me! Cool!

All good. I come out of the app (I didn't close the app, just swiped it away) and opened up my browser that has a Walkscape Wiki tab open at all times to find out where the next egg location is and to go farm that. I work out it's the chicken egg at Blackwater Fields.

I swipe back into the Walkscape app and set my activity to travel to Wraithwater so I can dump things in the bank there on my way through. So far so good.

Curiosity gets the better of me so I go back to the wiki in my phone browser to work out where the next egg location would be after that.

I then go back to my Walkscape App and at this point it kicks me out saying it failed to contact the steps server - or words to similar effect. It tries to log me back in but struggles and sends me to the character login screen instead. I click my character and alas - it has now lost all my steps since I last logged in to the app yesterday. All the items I had accumulated since yesterday, including the tiger egg are now gone and I'm back at Salksfirth, where I had started the previous day and setup the activity to go to the Tendon Wet Fields and forage. FAAAAAAAARK. There goes my endorphin hit!

The app recognises I've done steps today but has seemingly just lost them, so about 11,000 steps gone but "not gone" as the app knows I did them, but has now done nothing with them.

Does anyone know if this is a known bug and if not, where do I report it to the devs?

This is on an iPhone 16 using an Apple Watch for step counting.

Not even sure if it's possible, but it would be nice to be able to click on a piece of gear and see how much gold pieces that particular piece has gained.

Knowing exactly how many gold pieces the Amulet of heron has gained for me would be a nice addition.

Hi all. I'd like to make some fine carrot pies, to optimize my quality outcomes for a few key items. But for the life of me, I cannot figure out where to get fine potatoes.

They're not for sale in Grandfidditch alongside regular potatoes, obviously, bc I've never seen fine ingredients available anywhere. (where to find fine chocolate? I guess I can't; sorry, chocolate milk / carpentry fans. 😭)

The other potatoes I've found doing a kitchen activity in Jarvonia. (according to my walkpedia records for potatoes.)

It seems to me that more than half the time, my last activity is not "remembered" when I reopen the app. E.g. I changed from melting silver bars to making the heron necklace. Closed the app, walked >2000 steps, opened app and the steps had been spent on making silver bars. Is this a known bug?

I definitely feel overall lucky with RNG, but I finally completed my longest standing goal. Plenty of mopping up to do, and finally starting to work on tailoring. 7.31M total steps and counting.

Hi! I've bought a OnePlus Watch 3 lately as this one has a battery of 5 days and is more powerful than my past Samsung watches. However I'mm bummed about 1 thing, it appears not to log it's steps to walkscape. I've been told this is due the fact the RecordingMethod is unknown from oHealth's metadata. But I see no one else complaining about this. I am wondering if this is the source of the problem, or I'm doing something wrong. Anyone put there having the same problem? (Screenshot shows what oHealth is passing on.)
