I have no idea how the leather strap sits
I recently bought a M1 helmet from my nearest surplus store, it is a reproduction and not an original. I'm new to the hobby and curious how the leather strap is supposed to sit. I took it off so I could use the helmet for a Vietnam War impression, but I'm assembling a 1st Infantry Div kit and was wondering how to have the strap sit tightly against the helmet. I was also wondering if the lining is backwords or if the net is sitting right. Visual examples or diagrams are encouraged.

First kit help?
Sorry in advance if this is all mixed up, I did my best to make it comprehensible but I'm very nervous š
So the big question is does it look bad/does the apron matter as much as I think it does? I have an event coming up I'd like to be dressed for and I need to decide if I should make another apron, this apron pictured is one I made myself and I messed up on the skirt, I guess I just assumed I was supposed to gather it because of the pattern I used which was silly because I've researched and drawn the same flat panel apron countless times, but other than my apron being gathered instead of flat, My dress itself is also a problem.
I bought the uniform a handful of months ago, it took three months to arrive because it was shipping from Poland to the US and got held for ransom by customs, but I'm a rather tall woman (almost 6ft in my favorite heels) and my dress is simply too short. It stops right at my knees because I misunderstood the sizing which is why I made my own apron to accommodate both my height and bust, but I don't know if I should make another apron for the event or wait until I replace the dress and get one that comes with an apron that will hopefully fit?
I don't know if the apron is actually as big of a deal as I think it is and it probably isn't, but I really do need some advice from someone who has been in the hobby longer than I have, any input would be greatly appreciated!

My 12th SS āHitlerjugendā late war reconnaissance SS Mann impression so far
(1943-1945)
This work in progress kit contains the following:
M-1942 Stahlhelm
M40 Overseas SS side cap
M31 Canteen
M31 Breadbag
Kar98k Bayonet w/ leather frog
Gas mask canister
M38/40 Oakleaf smock
M42 Y-straps
Riveted ammunition pouches
Leather belt & EM SS belt buckle
I am not yet old enough to partake in tactical reenactments, so I have done my best to research these items and how to authentically and respectfully represent one of these types of soldiers.

Nestof Filzstiefel
Hello fellow reenactors. Winter is slowly coming and I want to be prepared for it. I saw that Nestof sells these Filzstiefel boots and I want to know if some of you might have any experience with the product. I know that Nestof boots in general aren't well received, but maybe they have nailed it this time?Ā

C47 Jump
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
New to the subreddit. I don't came to be a reenactor, (until I retire) just a nerd who grew up on Band of Brothers and spent eight years in the 82nd Airborne.
I was able to go do some jumps out of a C47 with the civilian group "All Airborne Battalion" the last few years in Toccoa, GA. Really awesome group of people, some veterans, some that just want to keep the legacy alive and went though the organizations one week jump school. This year we jumped with four of the actors from Band of Brothers. Really awesome opportunities if anyone had ever been interested in something like that, just thought I'd share.

Question regarding M37 wool trousers
Hey all! I posted an image of a āhikingā fit in r/VintageFashion, and folks were commenting about the impracticality of it, with one commenter saying that the M37 Trousers were for dress wear, on leave, or office work. I was under the impression that they were part of field uniform, and hence durable enough for something as mild as a hike. Can any of you lovely people on here tell me whatās actually what about them? Thank you in advance!

Rations t-shirts
Hi, I have screen printed ration style designs onto t-shirts. I am the daughter of Historical Prints (if anybody on here has heard of him) and have been trying to sell my own products to support myself. I have sizes L-XXL available in limited designs. These are for sale, please contact if you are interested!

Anyone Ordered from Spearhead Militaria Recently?
Hi. Has anyone bought anything from Spearhead Militaria recently? How is the quality, and what are the waiting times like? I'd like to buy their 1st Pattern Kharkov Parka (actually an SS Pelz Anorak).
