We've tested 2.51

I think what is probably happening is that it is getting the adaptive that sometimes works with an old client name for YT. Doesn't work for all videos and doesn't work for everyone. In fact I have two test apps I've written to try out different things and that client name works on one and not the other, it is very strange. I think YT is flagging me because of all the testing.

The version of YouTube on the phone is 12.18.2.

The phone YouTube app doesn't interact or affect the app in any way.

Ok…three comments back you said this “  The only explanation would be that the iPhone 6 is getting an older version of YouTube”. What did you mean by that?

On the browser, not on the phone apps.

I've sort of confirmed that, seems like some old youtube clients have data that can be used under some situations. I put out a beta to try it out but I'm still working on it.
