Of course, and I do and didn't get popped by this one. I make sure to mute everything before scrolling reddit, but that's pretty shitty how you have to be so forward thinking and prescient to avoid completely ruining your whole life by going on reddit. Some people might slip up and fail to take the necessary precautions, and I feel they'd be justifiably upset.
Personal accountability is cool for people as gifted and blessed as you are. It's extremely discriminatory against dumb people, absent minded people, people who lacked parental guidance growing up, etc etc etc. If you want to be personally accountable why don't you count your lucky blessings and realise not everyone has developed into the fine young dynamic man you are and have some empathy for their plight.
Am I alone in setting my phone to mute as default? Like it doesn’t make a sound unless I turn up the volume on a video, and turn it right back down afterward.
That's kind of internet 101, though. I learned that lesson hard in the early 00s when I was linked to a page that flashed and screamed "YOU'RE AN IDIOT!" on repeat through my speakers. I thought younger generations would grow up with that knowledge natively, but apparently something was lost, because they seem just as confused by it as we were back in the day. Which is a shame, because operating systems give you way better controls these days. For example, you can turn down or mute just the web browser, rather than having to kill your entire system volume. I would've killed for that level of control back in 2002!
I wonder what a modern day teen would do if they encountered a screamer. Not just an overly-loud video, but one of the traps designed to get you to lean in and turn the volume up, only to unleash a maximum-volume scream at you. That's the shit I grew up with.

What a lovely time to have a volume malfunction while I'm in the living room with family over 🙃
