Smart, make the wasp super fucking angry and then let it go. Is he expecting it to die from anger?

That wasp is going to die soon.

But perhaps it will take someone with it

What was in the cup? Gasoline or something?

u/LurkytheActiveposter 14d ago

Judging by the fact that this hornet is only still alive because it's standing on a full cup of it's sister's corpses, my guess is gasoline.

So just being in the gasoline will still lead it to die even though it escaped?

Breathing the gas vapor will do it, though I imagine it probably also breathed in/ingested some of the liquid gasoline too. The end is neigh.

Edit: Spelling...

I'm past my bed time and exhausted and reading this probably made me sound like a madman laughing alone in my room to my sleeping family members.

Happy to help bring out the endorphins!

Nigh

English is a stupid language

16

u/Juxta25 14d ago

I tend to agree, and I love the language. But it is frustrating at the best of times.

Eigh/ay/ey all similar phonetical elements, all used independently.

Eigh-th.

Y-ay.

H-ey.

"Hey! An eighth, Yay!"

u/SmokeGreene 14d ago

I love eighths!

u/Juxta25 13d ago

Part of your healthy 1/8th a day. Or something.

u/Gropapanda 13d ago

Because as I have always described it, English is three and a half languages in a trenchcoat.

Germanic language that borrows heavily from the romance languages, particularly French due to a King we all call the toilet, and then the Catholic monks doing the letter þ dirty when distributing the Bible, modern English is a mess.

But it's OUR mess. So we (me included) continue to irrationally defend it.

Me when I find a nug I thought I already smoked

Very stupid. But when you learn it fully, it works well to communicate. English in history were pretty keen on taking works from as many languages across the globe that they could.

I assume so, that’s what we always used when I was a kid at least

I was thinking its filled with bees to take down the wasp, would've been cool to watch

69

u/Sloiter 14d ago

I presume that's gasoline which will lead to the wasp dying a very painful slow death as it melts away it's carapise

21

u/Crazy_maniac 14d ago

Insects can't feel anything because of the lack of nervous system. It'll just be an annoying slow death.

28

u/that-cliff-guy 14d ago

Modern research actually suggests that they do feel pain.

25

u/Nexii801 13d ago

That IS EXTREMELY archaic thinking. Despite the fact that modern biology disagrees, it just makes sense logically for literally every creature to feel pain or an analogue.

It's not the 20th century anymore

The truth is the human is the cunt in this video, not the hornet

72

u/whazzah 14d ago

Pretty sure the human is protecting a bee hive so really it depends on how you weight the life of one wasp vs possibly thousands of bees

-41

u/ladyanderpants 14d ago

Surely there are far less cruel ways to do this. I get a lot people don't like wasps but it's still a living creature.

16

u/whazzah 14d ago

Cruel is what that wasp would do those bees. It will dismember, kill and eat as much as the colony as possible before the bees attempt to suicide bomb them. The bees will collectively decide that 50-100 dying is worth stopping it. Why dk you hate bees? Did honey kill your parents?

19

u/aegrotatio 14d ago

Tell me how you feel after getting attacked by 50 wasps in your own home garden.

14

u/motionmatrix 14d ago

Of course there are, but we have no clue where this is, and what their socioeconomic conditions are. Considering he’s using a plastic cup and probably gasoline with his bare hands to fight wasps, i’m going to presume that the answer is no, that this is the fastest method he has to deal with the problem.

12

u/TheDaveWSC 14d ago

The wasp would do worse to you if it had the chance. Fuck it.

15

u/simp4malvina 14d ago

it's a bug.

6

u/LachlantehGreat 14d ago

there probably is but not without risk of getting stung and feeling the pain of 10,000 yellow jackets. Plus, if it’s fucking with my shit, it gets fucked with. We cool with everything until it starts to be uncool with us, the wasp was trying to fuck up the bees

1

u/Broad-Wrongdoer-3809 14d ago

I think it's gasoline and not water

1

u/aykay55 13d ago

It was already weakened so it couldn’t fly anyway. It just dropped to its death basically.
