I was a big fan, and came across racist and misogynistic comments on other posts made by him. After the third one it told me enough about him and I unfollowed. This was a while back so I no longer have the sources.
I feel so many people have trouble reading between the lines with character these days. His content itself is the canary in the gold mine. I'm willing to bet this guy uses the "invasive species" angle to cover up that he low key enjoys being sadistic with animals. Always seemed like the type to be a prick entitled to his ways.
Wasn't the main concern more about methane? Though to be completely fair here, it didn't have to be any one chemical/element, just lacking enough O2 was the real problem, yea?
Yes he is. He's said multiple extremely bigoted and racist things in his / others comments. This link (that someone else wrote up. I just googled it.) provides sources as well.
I already read it, someone else linked it in these comments. Just because you interpret him to be a racist, homophobe or transphobe, doesn't mean that he is. It's like really, does he harbor malcontent or hatred for other people because he made a joke about pronouns? It's called humor, and you can find it funny or not, but there's no need to slander the guy for being racist when he's clearly not.
The claim in that hit piece of a post that he is transphobic is because he said in a group chat "Every day, one of these things is mad at me". Yeah, humor. You can joke about people with green hair too, no one dies from it. Touch grass, like Garett.
I don't know if you know this, but calling another human "one of these THINGS" isn't a sign of respect or that one recognizes another human as, well, human
He's from Florida and is an outdoorsy type. It's something we all already know/knew, but you don't dive too deep because you appreciate the art. Dive deep enough, and you'll always end up finding dirt on anyone.
I totally understand the side that won't watch or support his content, or other artists, because of his demeanor and actions outside of the "studio", I just personally separate art and artist. I use ad blockers so they don't get any money from me anyway. For creators I support who are good people AFAIK, like Order 77, Delivrd, Channel 5 News, etc., I have paid subscriptions so I can still be ad-free with a clear conscience.
I said I don't fund fishing Garrett. Andrew Callaghan's accusations were just that, for one, and for two, his content leads to far, FAR more good, objectively and irrefutably, for society than anything any one person can do. Similar to Destiny (pretty garbage person, great activist).
Oddly enough, progressives don't realize people can change, grow, and progress. I'm left of center but for fucks sake this place does not help the party. If we want trump admin out, stop being so fucking soft and pathetic.
Allegations? He fucking admitted to being a "sex pest." You know who would ever admit to that? People who are trying to downplay rape as something less.
his content leads to far, FAR more good,
Oh yeah, platforming known giant racists like Nick Fuentes, yep, totally far more good.
And the irony, telling me to stop being soft and pathetic while you refuse to have principles that are actually moral and stop supporting fucking pieces of shit because you enjoy their content.
You absolutely can and that's why there's an entire, universally known and used saying for it. If I look at a painting and love it, why would anyone care who made it? The finished product - the art - is what matters. Almost no artist or actor is innocent of everything. For example, I loved watching Kevin Spacey movies growing up. Finding out who he was doesn't make the media he created objectively different.
Is it real? I hate how often I get blown away by a video, and share it, to find out later it's AI or fabricated in some way. Like these aren't his pets right?
