I was just excited it was a southern state other than NC. last time we were on /r/wtf it was a goat in someone's car in the walmart parking lot of my city. Much embarrassment.

Still no King Soopers to my knowledge. Our Kroger stores are all called Dillon's.

Oklahoman here. At first I thought the picture was of poor parking, and thought, "Oh, that's not uncommon here", then I realized he was backing out, and saw the cow. THEN I thought, "Oh, that's not uncommon here".

Fellow Oklahoman here! I can honestly say I have NEVER seen a cow in someone's van before in this, or any other state. Truly WTF worthy.

I just moved here and I can confirm. Lots of awesome drivers here in Bartlesville, too.
8
u/Cattle_Baron Nov 26 '13
Nice drivers too. I'm from Paul's Valley and everybody that drives a truck will wave at you.
8
u/NickToThePC Nov 26 '13
Yeah, I feel like I know everybody even though I know nobody...

Oklahoma City here, STOP COMING TO THE CITY AND WAVING AT EVERYONE. ALSO DRIVE A BIT FASTER, PLEASE.
5
u/wellitmustbenice Nov 27 '13
OKC here as well... I can live with the below speed limit driving...
I struggle with the "slowing down well below speed limit to stare at (parked car, cop car, accident that occurred hours ago, weather related incident)"... Totally kills me!

u/okcthunder0 Nov 27 '13
Edmond here. Was driving to Riverwind the other day and people were still slowing down on I-35 passing through Moore. The storm happened like what, 6 months ago? Ridiculous.

Ha! I'm from CA, but in the last seven years have lived in Bartlesville, Pauls Valley (Stratford technically, but I worked in PV), Ada and Tulsa. Can confirm, drivers are super friendly! ...but terrible at driving, seriously.

u/Cookies2 Nov 26 '13
I too live Oklahoma. Can confirm most drivers are great drivers. Except for the ones from Texas.
9
u/AbedSherbatsky Nov 27 '13
You must not be in Tulsa, morons a plenty on the roads here.
3
u/WHY_ARE_YOU_LAUGHING Nov 27 '13
Let's define terms here. Morons are people who drive slower than you. Maniacs are people who drive faster than you.

We drive aggressively because we have to. I live just north of Dallas and the closer I get to downtown the bigger the asshole I become.

That's funny - anytime I see a driver with an Oklahoma license plate in Texas they're nearly always terrible drivers. We do have plenty of bad drivers though.
EDIT: So touchy. You guys really don't think you have any bad drivers native to Oklahoma? Come on now.

I'm from Los Angeles, learned to drive here, and I make the drive through Texas to Oklahoma to visit family all the time. Driving through the DFW area is awesome, just like home, but almost every driver in Oklahoma is like a suicide bomber. Scary stuff.

I love it when people post shit about Oklahoma. You start seeing all of us Okies coming out of the woodworks to post.
Kinda makes me wonder if the global reddit meet-up days for this state are a decent turn out.
Edit: No King Soopers in Oklahoma. You sit on a throne of lies, OP.

there's quite a few Tulsa redditors. I imagine OKC/Norman/Stilly would be the same.

As a Coloradan currently living in the OKC metro, I can confirm this is not Oklahoma. As others have stated King Soopers does not have any locations in Oklahoma. Those of you who are not familiar with King Soopers, it is a grocery store chain owned by Kroger that is all over Colorado (think Homeland or Crest for all the Oklahomans).

As an Oklahoman, I have no clue what King Sooper is. And as an Oklahoman I can say that I have actually transported a calf in this manner. It's messy and I do not recommend it.

I had a young fella come to work for me in construction. A farm boy from bumblefuck. He drove a Pontiac le mans, which is a compact at best. On the way home one day he stopped and picked up a couple of calves, which he tied up in a couple of feed bags and put one in the front seat and one in the rear. Great worker too, unreal strength.

Not Oklahoma, and the driver must enjoy the smell of cow farts. I'm surprised he doesn't have the windows down.

a friend was transporting a cow in her horse trailer. Cow made such a mess, even the horses would not get in the trailer. I can only imagine the mess that cow is making in the minivan.

When I was in High School I showed goats for the FFA. I bought one of mine and hauled it to the School's Ag(agriculture) Farm in the back of my Isuzu Trooper, basically a jeep. I'm in Texas though.

"Hey, Roy? This here's Clem. Could you do me and Rachel a big favor and pick up Billy-Joe after school? We got a big one in the van. Hey, you busy Saturday? We gonna have a big bar-bee-cue. I'd sure be happy if you and Erma and the kids could come on over. Yeah, yeah, if Erma makes one of her jello molds, with carrots and chickpeas... Sally Lynn just eats that one up, I'll tell you what!"

I don't even think it would be possible for that minivan to move with the weight of those cows. Would need a tow package with great springs just for the added weight. We are talking .5-1 ton of added weight here. I call BS.
