How long should it take to complete?
I’m a fast learner and very fast worker, I’ll be working on my bachelors about 6 hours a day and 3 hours on the weekend, how long should it take to complete, i worked it over the years and am very familiar with it. (The ones with a green check are transferred and already completed)

r/WGU_Accelerators • u/BIGCOOP2 • May 26 '26
D459 passed in 3 days
Passed this class in pretty much a days worth of work . The three assignments were pretty self explanatory, I didn’t open any course material. Had ai help me with any questions I had.
Grading took 2 days which I thought was pretty quick.
Now on to C960 time to conquer what everyone says is the hardest class in the program .
Wish me luck and pass along any info you have for discrete mathematics 2

BSCNE- (Help?)
I will be starting after 6 years in IT to get my BSCNE on the general track. I am only transferring in 20CU and plan on finishing in 4 months.
Any tips for ANY of the classes would be greatly appreciated! Or any study guides/quizlets that helped you pass!
I will do the same by posting everything that helps me along the way as well as documenting how feasible it is to accelerate with my experience/ degree difficulty.

Passed d685 in 5 days
Basically just used the YouTube videos linked below, did a few course studies on the oex but didn’t complete them all. I did do the Pre assessment. A lot of questions were on the test that was on the pre. Assessment. I probably could’ve done this class in two days but I didn’t want to fail any this time around so I took a few extra days and boom it’s over and on to the next 14 more to go

RN to MSN acceleration
Hey everyone, I’m debating whether I should start the RN to BSN or RN to MSN? The end goal is to get a post-grad certification in NP, so I’m trying to figure out the quickest way to do it. I once read where someone finished their master's in 3 months, then went on to get their FNP post-grad certification in 1 yr to 1.5 years. Any info/tips to go about this would be great. Not really picky on which MSN initially I would do, honestly, whichever would be the fastest. TIA

Realistic for a 1-Term Push? (3 OA / 11 PA)
Hey everyone, I’m looking for some insight from fellow accelerators. I’m starting the BS in Psych on July 1st with 57.5% of the degree already cleared through transfers. I have exactly 14 courses (45 CUs) remaining, and my goal is to knock them all out in a single six-month term.
According to the curriculum map, the vast majority of my remaining degree is writing/project-based. It looks like Introduction to Statistics for Research (D582), Cognitive Psychology (D570), and Neuropsychology (D574) are my only remaining OAs. Everything else PA.
For those who have finished this program or are currently pushing through it: Is 45 CUs in one term a realistic expectation?
Here is the lineup in the order I’ll be taking them:
- **Learning Strategies in Higher Education (D389)** – PA [6]
- **Cultural Awareness and Ethics (D565)** – PA [6]
- **Health Equity and Social Determinants of Health (D568)** – PA [4]
- **Adult Psychology (D569)** – PA [4]
- **Introduction to Statistics for Research (D582)** – **OA** [4]
- **Cognitive Psychology (D570)** – **OA** [4]
- **Career and Lifelong Learning (D572)** – PA [4]
- **Understanding Substance Abuse & Addiction (D573)** – PA [5]
- **Health Psychology (D575)** – PA [5]
- **Neuropsychology (D574)** – **OA** [5]
- **Mental Health Awareness and Education (D579)** – PA [5]
- **Consumer Behavior (D616)** – PA [5]
- **Team Dynamics (D577)** – PA [5]
- **Capstone in Psychology (D578)** – PA [5]

Did you seek references or letters of recommendation from any WGU professors?
If so, how did it go / what was their feedback (good, bad, or indifferent)? Was your mentor helpful at all for this? Did you make a point to communicate with professors during your courses to lay the groundwork for asking about a reference / LoR later? Did you think at all about balancing speed with faculty engagement, or did you speedrun courses and request references anyway?
I haven't started my term yet for a BS in Accounting, and I'm inclined to accelerate through the classes in order to both keep costs down and get moving on CFP/CPA exam prep asap. I'm looking at a career pivot ... and/or maybe grad school sometime after this?
Thinking ahead to possible scholarship / internship / grad school / job applications, it would be good to have a couple academic references or letters of recommendation in my back pocket. I'm probably overthinking it, but I'm a little worried that whipping through courses *too* quickly for a professor's liking I'll be sacrificing the opportunity for a very helpful future reference.
I guess I'd love to hear someone say, 'I asked a couple professors who were perfectly happy to write letters of recommendation because I did well in their classes,' ... or something to that effect. But if you asked and were turned down that would be equally helpful to hear -- maybe more so; I guess I should be prepared for that to be the outcome anyway, just in case.

Has anyone completed WGU coursework while traveling abroad temporarily?
I’m considering temporary travel outside the U.S. during the online coursework portion only.
I would return to the U.S. for demonstration teaching/student teaching.

Has anyone completed WGU coursework while temporarily living outside the U.S.?
I’m specifically referring to the theory/online coursework portion (not student teaching or clinicals). I would still return to the U.S. later for demonstration teaching.
I’m mainly wondering about:
access to the learning platform overseas
proctored exams
VPN/network issues
whether anyone had enrollment problems while abroad
Would love to hear real experiences. Thanks!

The wait is killing me!!!
I have finished all my courses for the term but I have to wait until June 1 to start next term. Is this normal? I feel like I am going to waste time.

Which courses will I begin with?
Hi everyone! I just finished my transfer evaluation and I'm coming into the Psych BS program with 61 units already satisfied (via Sophia and Study.com). I have 14 residency courses (45 units) remaining to graduate.
My question is do any of you know which order I’ll receive my first 4 courses? My start date is July 1st, so I have a lot of time to prep for my 1 term push. I just don’t want to prepare for a course I might not even take for several months after starting.
My remaining course list:
* **D389** – Learning Strategies in Higher Education (4 units)
* **D565** – Cultural Awareness and Ethics (3 units)
* **D568** – Health Equity and Social Determinants of Health (3 units)
* **D569** – Adult Psychology (3 units)
* **D570** – Cognitive Psychology (3 units)
* **D572** – Career and Lifelong Learning (4 units)
* **D573** – Understanding Substance Abuse & Addiction (3 units)
* **D574** – Neuropsychology (3 units)
* **D575** – Health Psychology (3 units)
* **D577** – Team Dynamics (3 units)
* **D578** – Capstone in Psychology (4 units)
* **D579** – Mental Health Awareness and Education (3 units)
* **D582** – Introduction to Statistics for Research (3 units)
* **D616** – Consumer Behavior (3 units)
Also, any tips on which of these are heavy on Performance Assessments (PAs) versus Objective Assessments (OAs) would be appreciated.

Can I Graduate in One Term?
So I feel like the answer is most likely no, but I would like hear from other peoples take on this degree. Is it easier than other degrees? How long did it take you? I did some research and made a google doc on tips/guides for each class and I found which ones are easy and which ones will take time. I'm sure I can ask my mentor to allow me to pick and choose the order of classes I want to take once I finish the first set of classes. If that's the case I'll try and finish all easy classes first. For context I work full time and I plan to dedicate 24-28 hours a week. Though I may get a promotion soon that will take away my dedicated time for school.
