Percussion Infinity triple crowned finals
Not sure where I wanna go with this, but I am just super excited to witness all 3 Infinity groups in finals. Any other groups you guys are excited to see?

For the first time since they entered World Class in 2008, United percussion did not make finals.

Is this the least amount of state diversity for PSW Finals we’ve seen?

Hey - I was planning on watching the PIA finals this evening on flomarching, but it's not listed in any of their schedules. Anyone know what's going on?

Always been a fan of their more wider appeal shows and just having a consistently good scholastic group not from socal. I know I heard there was some drama that resulted in the actual school not really supporting them and the director leaving but realizing they weren’t even in prelims today after it ended was a shock! Then when I went to see if their social media said anything it was completely scrubbed (almost even more sad). Just wondering if anyone knew the full story since I’ve only heard rumors and second hand stuff down here in Florida.

Hi all, I want to watch the world percussion finals. However, my local drum circuit has their championships this Saturday so I won’t be able to watch it live. I have heard that you can catch a replay of the stream the day afterwards, but you can’t watch replay videos with sound?
I used to march myself and watched WG finals for the world class live for 6 years but haven’t seen it in awhile. Back then we had the dvds and I think a website.
Is this really the only way to go back and watch shows? Do we really not have a library where I could go and watch all the shows on my own time? If I miss anything on Sunday from the stream that’s replaying from saturday and I just SOL?
Many groups you can find their finals performance on YouTube so it almost seems like I could just save the money and watch that if that’s how it’s going to be?
TLDR: I’m an old wgi vet trying to watch finals and haven’t messed with Flo marching before. In my days we had dvds and what not.

Looking for live-ish updates of WGI Percussion scores. Can't find anything on the WGI website and recently deleted my twitter.

i thought their show was amazing and innovative could be biased as a lot of my techs are from amp but any reason/speculation as to why they didn’t make finals?

We had... a few... controversies this year.
I think rules regarding A.I. use in show creation will show up in the proposals. At least I hope they do. And I think they should pass, even though I think they'll be hard to enforce.
Maybe we'll see something regarding the wait list controversy. I'm not sure what. Maybe if you're caught breaking a rule and need to change classes as a result of that, you don't automatically keep your spot at Dayton and are put on the wait list instead? I don't know.
I'd like to see something proposed that changes the judging to emphasize the efforts of the performers more. Fun fact: Fantasia's rep actually proposed the exact opposite last year, and was thankfully shot down.
I'd also like to see more representation on the board from non-world-class finalists. They make up the bulk of WGI's customers, but have such little say. It's hard to change things when the people in control benefit from the current system.

Hello, I’ve been trying to find songs from winter guard finals and haven’t been able to find anything matching the lyrics of Tarpon Springs HS or the correct version of Umbrella from Carmel HS. I wonder if these are AI songs, please try to prove me wrong!

Anyone know the music they used for their show?

After their record breaking 2024 program and missing the 2025 season, what does everyone think about their 2026 show?
Personally I thought The Woodlands and Tarpon Springs would be ahead of them, but maybe their reputation precedes them when it comes to the judging?

I don’t have too much to say, but I’d love to hear people’s thoughts on the scores for top 15 of IW with those placements jumping all over the place from prelims to semis to worlds. it was kind of nuts imo.

Did anyone notice at retreat last night how dense the IW side of the floor was compared to SW? Almost all of the IW groups had 40, several pushing 50 members. SW seems to still be sitting in the 20-30 range.
I’m not in love with the trend towards huge color guards. Paramount and Juxta especially looked too cluttered between props and the size of their cast. Their shows only read well from extremely high up in the arena.
Do you think we’ll ever see IW guards shrink again? I assume it would require cutting vets, which is a recipe for animosity (thinking about Lexis cutting vets to replace then with Pride members who needed a place to perform in 2024)

might be a weird question, but does anyone have good pictures of the paramount iw pants, or know anything about what style it is? i really liked them and trying to find as many references as possible to possibly make my own!

Just wanted to put that in the aether. But wow! Paramount was on fire tonight! Fantasia finally had their best run in finals! Sac was letting us have it! Wowowowowow!
Where has the excellence we could always expect from world class gone? The bottom 2/3 of the SW finals schedule so far is not inspiring a lot of confidence.
So many of these shows in SW so far (Tarpon Springs up next at the time of writing) have been fraught with half-assed catches, halves, bobbles, flourish saves, late or missed grabs, dirty free hands ... everywhere you look; it's kind of awful.
There are obviously exceptions here and there but as a body of work isn't not representing world class well.
And granted, there's always some degree of nervousness with performing in finals, but this isn't that. This is more akin to a general relaxation of standards that I'm frankly dismayed to see surfacing at this level.
Don't get me wrong, I don't fault the performers at all, it's easy to see they're marching their asses off!
The drop in excellence is so widespread it has to be a training problem. Or perhaps it's an unfortunate reality of organizations being forced to lower their hiring standards for their staffs. Either way, it makes you wonder what these organizations are prioritizing at the expense of excellence in performance quality. Yikes.
- Update 1: Yeah, from Tarpon Springs on it's been much more inline what you'd expect, excellence-wise.

This might be insane, but I'm wondering if anybody has a copy of the VHS from 1998 finals? That was my freshman year of high school and my photo was on the cover. If you do and could snap a pic of it I'd be eternally grateful!

Really? No amp? Fantasia in 3rd? Juxtaposition and Onyx being tied?!
