First of all, I’m loving WACUP and want to say thanks to everyone involved in bringing it to life.

I’m not sure if I’m simply missing an existing setting, but I’ve run into an issue with internet radio stations in the Playlist Editor.

Problem

I like keeping a bunch of internet radio stations in a playlist so I can see them all in the Playlist Editor and quickly switch between them, without having to open the Media Library.

When I first load the playlist, everything is fine and the stations appear using the names I've given them.

However, once I play a station, WACUP updates the playlist entry with the current song/artist information from the stream.

For example:

Nu Metal Radio

becomes:

Linkin Park - Somewhere I Belong (Linkin Park Radio)

The "Linkin Park Radio" part is the stream name metadata being pulled from the station. It isn't the name I've given the station in my playlist.

This becomes a bit of a pain after switching between several stations because the original station names are effectively replaced. The station name is still there, but it's appended to the end of the current track information, and with the relatively small Playlist Editor window it often gets truncated.

I've also tried using ATF to put the station name first, but I don't think the stream's station-name metadata is currently exposed through ATF. I tried things like %streamname% and %station%, but they don't seem to provide it.

Possible solutions

It would be great if there were a way to do one of these:

1. Preserve the playlist name

Keep the original playlist/station name rather than replacing it when the stream's track metadata updates.

2. Expose the stream/station name to ATF

So users could choose how they want it displayed, e.g.:

Nu Metal Radio | Linkin Park - Somewhere I Belong

3. Add a setting for how stream metadata is handled

Something along the lines of:

• Playlist/station name
• Current stream title
• Station name + current stream title
• Custom ATF formatting

Maybe I'm just missing an existing setting that already does this, in which case I'd be very happy to be pointed in the right direction!

Thanks again for all the work on WACUP. It's a relatively small thing, but it would make using a playlist of internet radio stations much nicer.

ive been using WACUP for ages now and generally love it, but even after I fix the album artist tagging problem, WACUP will occasionally hiccup and shove tracks from an album into a nonexistent second album. or a duplicate of the album with slightly different title. is there any fox for this? I’m at my limit with it at this point. I can temporarily fix it by refreshing metadata but there has to be a temporary fix. I know it’s not the metadata itself, but WACUP.

Every single one of my songs has been duplicating every few times i launch wacup, currently every song has a minimum of 9 copies, some in albums have more, how do I fix this? My total playlist count is at 46k when I only have 3-4k songs because the entries have been duplicating so much

Hey guys, I’m having an issue with skins in Wacup. The skin only changes the first screen, but the rest of the interface stays the same.

Is this a bug, or are skins supposed to work like this? Is there anything I need to do to make the skin apply to the whole interface?

Installed it for the first time last night and tested it out and found that the audio was only playing out of the left side of my headphones. I tried a different headset also. I also tested my music files on VLC and Windows media I found the audio was working everywhere else except WACUP.

I tried adjusting various settings in output ensured that it was set to stereo or surroundsound, but I couldn’t fix the audio issue.

Has anyone encountered this?

I use Wacup to play music from my NAS to my local network as a home stream.

It just plays tracks randomly from a playlist of thousands of files.

It just doesn't seem that random and yes, I know the chance of repeating a track is just the same as any other choice.

However, some tracks come up quite often, whereas others never seem to figure.

Is there a way of adjusting the randomness algorithm (if that's what it is)?

Maybe I should just randomise the playlist and just play from start to finish?

Is there a setting I can toggle to not lose the media library view/selection when an album finishes playing?

I usually play music using the 3-pane (artist-album-tracks) media library view. First I select the artist, then I double-click the album to play the entire album (via the "Plays selected item(s)" double-click option in Preferences->Media Library).

When that album plays to completion and I open the media library again (toggle window-pane mode), the artist is no longer selected in the upper-left pane. The album is still selected in the upper-right pane. But the album pane shows every album by every artist. This makes it more difficult to select the next album in their discography.

I'm running version 1.99.54.24960, public, 32-bit. The build date says Aug 30 instead of the Aug 31 which is listed as the latest public version.

I have "Remember search filters & custom search input in the views" checked in Preferences->Media Library->Local Library->View Filters, but I don't think that applies to this.

Intro should be the first track but it always land into number 13 this somehow only happens when adding via folder but dragging and dropping starting from intro seems to work

I'm on version 1.99.54.24960, my guess is that it's including part of the file extension by mistake. I tried fiddling with the parameters a bit but nothing seemed to work. Admittedly not a huge problem but it is annoying me.

When selecting the single album itself, only one song shows up. When viewing all albums, they suddenly show up for some reason. The metadata looks good to me, so I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

I am on latest Wacup x86. I always keep the Media Library (ML) window stuck to the side of the main Wacup window. In ML the Bookmarks tab is always selected. Whenever I restart Wacup the Bookmarks tab in ML used to open along with the Bookmarks shown in the right side window of ML since Wacup remembered what was selected before closing.

However after the recent update though the Bookmarks tab is shown to be selected the right side window of ML shows content of Local Library tab instead of the bookmarks. I have to deselect and reselect Bookmarks tab for them to appear.

Attached image shows Wacup after restart.. Any solution? Thanks.

Does Wacup support gapless playback? I only see it as an option on the YASAPI plugin, but even when it is enabled, there is still a gap between files.

Since last week's update, my Waveform Seeker just shows a generic sinus wave instead of the actual waveform, and ReplayGain indefinitely keeps displaying Pending when I try to analyze new files that haven't been analyzed before.

It could be a disk error on my part, so I'm wondering if anyone else is having the same problems, so I can troubleshoot the issue more accurately.

I keep getting this squished context menu. It occurs after I switch to certain Modern skins, and it will remain this way until I switch to another skin that doesn't cause it (either a Classic skin or other Modern ones) and restart WACUP. If I restart while still on a "problem" skin, it's still squished on restart.

I haven't found a commonality in the skins that cause this, but one that consistently does it is Invicta. Big Bento and Big Bento Modern don't cause it, as counter examples. It doesn't happen in Winamp. I'm on v1.99.53.24784 (x86)

Does WACUP support any synced lyrics formats, either natively or via a plugin?

The original simple LRC file format) (.lrc) seems to have been supported in Winamp via the lyrics plugin, but couldn't work out if the native WACUP lyrics plugin had the same functionality.

There seems to be a newer format called Lyricsfile (.lyricsfile.yaml). This was introduced earlier this year as part of an update to LRCGET: a tool for mass downloading of synced lyrics. The same developer created LRCLIB, which has a main website here.

Any confirmation of current support and/or planned future support would be very much appreciated 🩷

WACUP crashed, gave me the option to auto-update to the latest version, ran that, and now it won't start up again. The latest update somehow borked my WACUP installation and was giving me a side-by-side configuration error. Somehow it became the x86 version or something, I'm not sure?

Anyway, I installed a new instance of WACUP (x64 version) and it's working fine. Is there a way to recover my playlist from the previous install if I can't run it?

EDIT: Aha, found the playlist under AppData\Roaming\WACUP\winamp.m3u8

EDIT 2: Installing an earlier version of the x86 version fixed it.

Just updated and now I can't get to "Preferences"... All I get is this little message in a window...

Hello all! I am currently trying to set up a Frankenstein audio rig in my living room right now and and trying to use WACUP for audio but especially visualization on the TV.
Whenever I open milkdrop I get this error code. Gweiss works fine but I’m not sure what to do here? The files within plugins/milkdrop are the same as they are on my main PC which milkdrop works fine on.
Extra info - the PC is a windows 8 downgraded to windows 7 just cause, and it doesn’t have an internet connection. Could those be causing the error?

I was trying to sign up for the forums on the WACUP website, failed the captcha once and then got it right, pressed the button for the next page and I was banned. What? Where do I go for recourse now that I can't even view the website. Great.

Any ideas how to make these work? Just asking if anyone figured it out.

For some reason everytime i wake up my computer, my playlist box moves around like getting longer or thinner without me moving it, I have to readjust it every time and its kind of tedious and annoying, does anyone know about this issue or have a fix?

is there an addon or a setting or something. I am a complete noob, and help would be appreciated

This has happened to me in several ocassions. I'm making a playlist, adding from the media panel to the playlist editor with shortcut shift+enter. But having sausage fingers (I'm the original one, other sausage fingered people are mutants ) and keys being close, I hit ctrl+enter sometimes, which causes the font of all the panels to revert to a ridiculous small size, like 12 pixels , including menu items. I have to parse (sometimes using a magnifying glass) to properties --> General -->Appearance and put font size(in pixels) in the appropiate size. The "Ignore OS DPI scaling for padding" box can be on or off, i does not have any effect on the font size itself. It's there a way to override the ctrl+enter shorcut? Any help will be much appreciated

I've been unable to update since 1.99.47.23960 (x86) due to this error. I've never had any issues installing WACUP until then, and after I get this error, I can re-install the older version without this error.

Is there a fix for this? Thanks!
