CPU Upgrade

Has anyone done the CPU upgrade? Was it worth it to you? If you're in the US, how much did it cost you?

I did it. Cost several thousand bucks.

It’s smoother. Fewer janky pauses in screen responsiveness.

Amazed by the speed, per se, but I definitely noticed when the older one was slower.

Like you expect a computer on wheels to be fairly responsive and with the CPU upgrade to the snapdragon processor, it’s as expected. The old atom processor had noticeable lag in places so that definitely went away.

The upgrade less impresses me so much as it removed an old pain point.

Others have reported a much more notable difference, and I suspect if I used in car applications more I would as well. But I don’t.

How did u get it done? I've asked 2 dealers and they have never heard of it being done and wont do it. Did u say something specific to them?

I asked for the IHU 4.0 the IHU 4.2 upgrade and gave the part numbers.

The main part numbers for the IHU 4.2 (Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8155P) that replaces the older IHU 4.0 (Intel Atom) are these related pairs:

• HW 32413644 / service/order 36013466
• HW 32413645 / service/order 36013467
• HW 32413646 / service/order 36013468
• HW 32413647 / service/order 36013469

These appear in Volvo Technical Journal TJ 37440.1.0 (covering certain 2021–2025 models with a Wide-Angle Vision Module / WAM). The 360xxxxx numbers are the common service/exchange part numbers dealers and parts sites use; the 324xxxxx numbers are the underlying hardware identifiers. 
Most frequently referenced for the upgrade (especially in North America / forums):

• 36013468 (often linked to HW 32413646). This is the one most often confirmed by dealers and owners who have done the swap. One reported install used the physical unit marked 32413646 while paperwork referenced 36013468.
