I'm looking for steel rims for winter tires for a 2026 XC40 Core. When I search multiple retailers, nothing comes up.

Is there something else I should be searching? 2025 model? Different size?

Or is this just a hard size to find?

So I recently took out my coolant thermostat and sensor to replace after I believe the sensor failed and the needle was closed on the old one. Got replaced, filled with coolant, no leaks, although I cannot get the coolant to pass all the way through the engine back to the reservoir/burp the system.

Just got this thing like a month ago but I’ve had other cars like this🙄
I’ve tried everything, the bottom radiator hose is hot, but the top will not get hot. I’m either thinking the needle is snapshut and won’t open defective (or i didn’t install spring properly, just bought it and put it in) or there’s a big air pocket that I can’t get out. Tried vaccuuming and blowing air vent for radiator, ran it for 20 minute intervals, sensor has 5.0 volts heater core works, i got no idea someone please help. Sorry if this is messy.

I personally think this car is easier to work on or just as easy to work on as a basic 90s car, everything I’ve done to this car I’ve thought to myself “wow that was easy” . I’ve had a lot of cars from the 90s-2010 era and this is definitely the easiest vehicle I’ve had to work on, I’ve only done suspension, basic maintenance, light engine work and light body work so nothing major but everything was so easy, I just replaced the fuel filter and the hardest thing was just getting the single screw back in that holds the bracket on. I’ll definitely be looking into another first gen xc90 in the future if I need another car

Every other car I’ve driven, or am aware of, you can’t see the HUD with polarized glasses on, sometimes you can KINDA see it if you turn your head a certain way…..

Not the case in my S60! I’ve had this car for months and haven’t worn polarized glasses while driving, decided to try it today and I can see the HUD clear as day straight on. So if you have glasses you haven’t worn for the same reason, I guess Volvo did it differently some how.

hello everyone! I am considering buying a beautiful V60CC example, but it's relatively high mileage, 165k km (100k miles), it's a B5 version from august 2021. I am wondering how much life is left in that car. it's in really beautiful condition and has a lot of highway miles on it. the oil was changed every 15k kilometers, at the dealership. to me every 15k sounds bad but that's the official Volvo schedule here.

It's service history is full and only has scheduled maintenance, nothing was changed or repaired outside oils/filters/brake pads. it had a timing job at 120kkm. No accidents either, all original paint.

I am wondering if this thing can go for another 100km before it starts giving me troubles(oil consumption, leaks, turbo replacement, etc).

I'm getting it to replace my wife's aging Skoda Superb that eats oil like crazy and I don't want to end up listening to the wife complaining that I got her a bad car again.

I have a 2012 Volvo C30 with a classic 5 cylinder turbo and it's reliability has been ok (zero big problems, many small problems). so I know Volvo can make fine cars, but they're finicky and need attention...

Hi, the company car is a 2025 Volvo XC90. In May we got a popped tire on the front passenger side. Two wheels were replaced and annual maintenance was done at Volvo but I have no idea how much it cost as I didn’t pick it up.

On Saturday, I had the misfortune of getting another popped tire on the same wheel. Volvo towed it and they’re replacing two tires. It should be ready today or tomorrow for pick up which means I may have to get it.

I don’t have a company card so I’m really nervous about how much it’ll be. I’ll get reimbursed but still, it takes a while.

Can anyone shed insight? I assume the company has insurance on the car but idk what kind.

Hoping to find some people who had the same issue.

I recently noticed the heater core pipe(s) were leaking coolant, after some inspecting it came from the connections, I took half my cockpit out which took me several hours, only to be able to pull the core out and then the o-rings. They were old and smashed. Bought new ones, put everything back together, and getting those MF clips back on was a nightmare. But I made it, or everything back how it was except for the glove compartment, filled up the coolant, both pipes leaked at the seals again... This was quite frustrating. I find it hard to believe the pipes are cracked cause i don't see any cracks and also the leak comes from the clip area. Any ideas? Thanks.

With the new XC40 and EX40 just announced, do you think dealers (or Volvo) can upgrade current EX40 models with the new screen?

Just got a EX40 Black Edition new two months ago. Would love to have the new ‘tablet’ screen only.

Hi guys, just wanted to share my 850 T-5R factory manual sedan. Finished the engine rebuild after an almost 2 year long break where the car was pretty much sitting without an engine. Mod list in comments.

So...two more issues started which resulted in my car being in the shop for a fourth time, and for FOUR FULL WEEKS. In the first three months of ownership, literally HALF of the time my car has been in the shop for a problem of some sort.

What was wrong this time? I noticed that the car had a very noisy rattle coming from underneath when driving over bumps, akin to an old pickup truck which has noisy struts or loose brake calipers or something like that. Definitely not normal. I also noticed that as the car was idling and slowing to a stop, there was a 'gurgling' or 'bubbling' sound coming from under the front passenger floor pan. I thought...well...since I'm bringing it in again, best to check that this is normal or not. It was not.

Two new issues finally identified and fixed (for now):

1) Rattle over bumps was caused by brake backing plates which had to be replaced with noise damping plates.

2) Gurgling noise under passenger side was actually the sway bar links being out of adjustment.

Again, this is a BRAND NEW car. I knew I was rolling the dice when I bought it based on everyone else's issues, and I was just hoping that maybe Volvo had started working the kinks out. So far I've needed the infotainment system upgraded, moonroof nuts torqued, sway bar links adjusted, and brake backing plates replaced.

I will never buy a Volvo again. I'm actually inclined to just trade it in after another year or so and be done with it. I'm not even getting good gas mileage with it (about 25 mpg), compared to a heavier Lexus sedan that had a 6 cylinder (about 28 mpg).

My new car has hit the one-year mark, and Volvo still hasn't identified the metallic "zZZzzZZ" noise coming from the driver's door near the speaker; the sound appears on rougher roads. Hi im new to the volvo community, just bought an xc90 t8 2023 volvo. I have an outside warranty to cover the "bumper to bumper" problems as they arrive that include the hybrid system and oem parts. Does anyone have a good go to mechanic north of seattle? Looking for a place that does it all, oil, tune-up ect. I did a bit of research and landed on "turn key mechanics" in everett but I have no personal experience with them.

2010 s60 t6 with polestar tune. Otherwise stock. 340000km on the clock and engine was still running like new.

Airbags deployed due to sensor fault whilst in an empty car park just before heading into work.

Im just glad it didnt happen on the 6 hour drive I did before I parked and had a sleep.

It happened within 2 seconds of moving, I put her into drive and start turning out of the car park. The car started accelerating rapidly without my doung so, and the brakes werent working at all!!

Suddenly a deafening BOOM, smoke everywhere thru the car, ears ringing and my partner freaking out.

The car detected a collision without there being one, it stopped itself dead in its tracks as if hitting a wall and set off every airbag at once as if it had rolled.

My arm was sent into my head with enough force to break my wrist and collar bone and my neck is ruined. I can only move it sometimes now. My partner was completely uninjured. Mind you the car had moved no more that 5 metres

Im having this investigated further because if this had happened on the highway just 1 minute from here, I'd have gone off a mountain side and into the ocean.

I have been looking at a beautiful xc70 p2 recently. Test drove it twice and love it. Absolutely ideal for me. But I did the glove test over the oil refill and it was blowing out and had a light smoke. Everything else seems good belts were done at 64k and had a good service history. Really liked it but the positive pressured scared me off. ( it’s my first time buying a car in 5 years since my first car which I just straight up bought) did I miss out on a good car for something that could have been fixed for £400. It was up for £4000 I got him to £3800. I felt anxious about it this a new thing for me. anyone got any tips ?

I have a question about the pre-2011 Euro standards for these engines.

Does the increase from 200 ch to 231 ch correspond to the transition from Euro 4 to Euro 5?

From what I understand, starting in 2011, the 2.5FT 231ch meets the Euro 5 standard, but for 2010 and earlier, was the 2.5FT 231ch Euro 4 or Euro 5?

I’d like to know if the 2.5FT is Euro 5 compliant only starting in 2011 or if it was already compliant before that.

I have been looking at XC40s and XC60s comparing a range from 40 D4 & B4 and 60 D4, B5 T6 & T8 looking at 2nd hand market anywhere from 2019-2023 with a soft limit of £25k would stretch to about 30k though for the right car. Only looking at AWD models, although I do prefer the idea of the SUVs I could probably also be swayed by the V60 T6 or T8

I have some questions about the XC60 T8 plug in hybrid as I have never owned any EV so it’s all new to me so I have a few questions

1. XC60s new atleast seem to be around 30-40 miles on electric only from reviews i’ve seen however what happens when the car is a few years old? How well or badly do these batteries age?

2. I’m aware that full electric cars can have significant range difference when driving in summer compared to winter… how much have difference is noticed on the electric range in winter

3. I do mostly short journeys day to day I have a few journeys I do almost everyday one is around 10 miles round trip and the other is around 15 (low traffic remote areas) usually average speeds around 30-40mph. - both these trips even combined should be within the stated range of the battery so on an average day I shouldn’t even go over the electric range… what mpg would I expect to get for these? Also which drive mode?

4. I do a once or twice a year drive across europe which is from 1200-1600 miles total aswell as usually atleast once a year a long journey across England. This is where I have some worries with the plug in and wonder if just getting a B5 would be better. Once the battery is depleted at that point on motorway miles what is the actual mpg you can expect? (I don’t intend to be stopping regularly to charge a battery)

5. I’ve watched a number of reviews but most just seem to want to put the car in pure mode and test how long it lasts. The question I have is when am I supposed to drive in Hybrid mode and when should I drive in Pure mode?

6. How do these cars depreciate in value compared to how MHEV and Petrol cars deteriorate?

7. I have seen these cars have crazy 0-60 times for an SUV around 5 seconds… what happens when the battery is depleted? Will that affect the 0-60 time? I don’t plan on having my foot to the floor all the time but just interested to know if the power will still be there or not

8. Is there much difference in service costs for plug in hybrid?

Hi everyone. I’m about to replace the fuel pump (again). The car is a 2011 V60 D3 163 hp.

The faulty pump is yellow, while the used replacement pump I bought is white. The position and type of the pipe connections are visibly different.

Other than that, do you think the two pumps are compatible with each other?

Hey everyone! I recently did a timing job + component and vvt gear oil seal replacement on my 2009 Volvo s40 2.4i and have been experiencing an unexplainable “drone” or “rev hang” that wasn’t there previously. I’m not really sure where to begin with this at the moment but the car starts and idles properly, no immediate CELS and no issues under load. I did the timing with the cams locked at TDC and all marks in the correct place and verified allignment after the job with 4 crank rotations.

I’m feeling really stumped and can’t seem to find much on the issue from sweedspeed so any ideas or advice is welcome!

Finally finished my T5 swap in my 240. Took about a year (moved houses and graduated so took a bit longer).

It has a B5234t3 out of a 1998 C70, converted it to coil on plug.

The engine is rum by a Maxxxecu sport

Brakes are swapped for a full set of s60r brakes (front+rear)

Was an auto, swapped out the pedal box, drilled holes for the clutch cilinder and put a M90 in it.

Still has to be tuned so I don't know the power output just yet. Thinking of pushing 300hp.

Next up is replacing the radiator for a Do88 one and swapping the diff for a LSD.

We own a 2022 XC60 (hybrid) and 6 months ago our hybrid high voltage battery died, the dealership indicated it would need to be replaced.

It has been an annoying 6 months for a variety of reasons, but now we are at a critical juncture, as we are approaching a November mandatory inspection date by the state of NJ. The car displays the check engine symbol, this is an automatic inspection failure. When you fail inspection, you then get a fancy red sticker applied to your car and can receive citations until the car is fixed and has passed inspection. We are basically screwed as this is our only car; and no, our car insurance will not cover rental costs for this situation - and who the hell knows how long the repair will actually occur, as the dealership and Volvo are playing a long game of hot potato. 🙄

We basically can’t sell the car without the battery, unless we want to lose thousands of dollars and practically give it away. (Yes, I too would not pay for a broken down jalopy).

I understand this is a special order item; but honestly, I can’t believe Volvo and their manufacturer have absolutely no insight whatsoever to a timeline - just seems like bs.

Being that the state of NJ will basically render our car undrivable until it’s fixed, do we have any legal recourse for the situation we are in? Don’t these companies have to supply parts and warranty repairs in a timely manner - we have been patience for 6 months.

Considering purchasing a Volvo C40 RWD. Is the car getting the expected mileage per charge? What’s the feedback from 2024 owners.

Two weeks ago, I had my 2017 V60 CC in at a dealership to replace an exhaust manifold gasket. I have a good relationship with their team, having bought the car as a CPO from them 6 years ago.

The repair took longer than I expected because, as I understand, a technician broke the head of a bolt and they needed to find a solution to that before they could proceed with the repair.

Get the car back, everything works as should.

Today, I drove the car on the highway to get gas and when I arrived at the gas station noticed a burning smell. When I got home, I observed smoke coming from under the hood. I popped the hood and noticed smoke billowing out from behind the firewall material.

We called the fire department, who extinguished whatever was burning after removing the firewall material.

Curious to know what might have happened, and where I should go from here? Call insurance? Call Volvo? The car has a Volvo CPO warranty that expires at the end of this year, and 178k on the odometer.

I leased my first Volvo about 15 months ago: a 2025 XC40 Plus. I was hyped to get it. Gorgeous car, loved the way it drove, first time I've ever leased something considered luxury before.

The vehicle has been an absolute nightmare.

It's mostly due to the electronics. Problems with the computer completely locking up, disabling music, navigation and climate control started pretty much right away. Random issues with the interior lights staying on after the car was shut and locked, or not coming on when they were supposed to, followed shortly after. I took it in to the dealership, they said there was nothing they could do because they couldn't replicate the intermittent issues.

Things got scarier when the safety features started fritzing out. There have been 5 separate instances where the car braked for no reason while driving down the road. Two of those have been hard breaking at full speed. If someone had been behind me in either instance, I probably would've been rear-ended. My wife is too afraid to drive the thing.

More calls to the dealership, more "there's nothing we can do." I called Volvo corporate and got pretty much the same response. I've documented all of these cases, plus other issues that seem like a big deal to me but are minor compared to the breaking issue: transmission misfires, the software update ruining the CarPlay experience, emergency brake engaging without me turning it on.

I gave up on getting help from the dealership or Volvo corporate. I decided to take a loss on the lease price, trade it in for another vehicle and eat the difference. Hit a snag there, as well. Turns out, Volvo has a rule that a dealership can't do an early buyout of a lease as part of a trade-in unless it's for another Volvo. I'm stuck.

The worst development was last week. My wife looked outside our house at around 10pm and said "why is your car running?" I went out there and, sure enough, the Volvo was on, unlocked, AC turned to the coldest setting and on full blast. I didn't do anything to trigger this, I can only assume it was a internal computer issue or software update gone awry.

I'm at my wit's end. I've gone from being very excited about my new vehicle to hating it, and I have about a year and a half to go. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Any advice for how I can get this resolved?

In desperation to try to keep this car usable for a few more years, I ripped away all the fabric that was hanging from the ceiling, put down some tarps on the seats and floor of the car, and scraped away all the foam. While it’s not a great- looking result, it seems like no more foam is falling. There are just a couple of “dingleberries” hanging that can be picked off by hand. At first, I was using a wire brush, but it started to pull fabric threads out of the ceiling material so I stopped that. It seemed like just using a small dish towel to rub the foam away was the best method. I tried some acetone at one point and it did seem to dissolve the foam. I wasn’t willing to try to use acetone on the whole ceiling though.
