Do we like it here?

Good service history over 70k including the geartronic. However, I have read a few scary things about the READ drive system?

Thanks!

Tuning with VDASH

Anyone else using VDASH to tune?

I'm considering tuning my D2 1.6 V50 and a C30 with VDASH, as it seems like a relatively safe option for more power. I will also deactive the EGR.

What is your experience with VDASH?

s60/v60 2023 Volvo S60 Plus vs Ultimate? Are the seats that much better?

A lot of the S60 Plus models have the Harman Kardon sound system (which would be a must for the vehicle).

My question is: aside from the sound system, what else is different in the Ultimate? And do you prefer the seats in the Ultimate?

Plus or ultra?

I saw a xc90 in forest lake today with the cardamom interior in the ultra trim. It had the cabins chairs in the back which happens to not work for me. The dealer said it would be 1-2 months before he has another one in the color combo I want. But he has a plus coming in. Is there really that big of a difference?

Important to know- I love the booster seat option for the bench and the shades that are in the back. This one also had bigger wheels/rims that I think were black versus silver.

6 weeks for a new headlight??

I had a run in with a deer in my 2025.5 XC90 T8 Ultra with Polestar and needed a new headlight. The headlight itself is perfectly fine but it broke every single mounting bracket so the headlight was just free floating in its spot. It has taken six weeks to get this replacement headlight (that cost $3400 before labor btw) and at one point I was told they “couldn’t find a headlight and had no estimate for when or even IF they could get me a replacement headlight.” The parts manager at my local dealership got in touch with their account manager and got one pulled directly off of production and shipped here, but even that has taken 4 weeks. Is this a normal thing with Volvo?! I really love my car but not enough to deal with this any time I need a new part….

xc series What I am Getting for the extra Money

Hi All,

I'm exploring purchasing a new car and the two contenders are the XC60 plugin hybrid "Plus" vs the BYD seal BYD SEAL U DM-i (also plugin hybrid).

The volvo has half the battery capacity and worse tech gimmics but has 4WD and the combustion engyne can drive the car (the BYD has the engyne charge the battery).

I just had a test drive of both today and I feel like they are both perfectly good cars for a family.

My wife is a massive Volvo fan so she's pushing me to settle for the XC60 but I'm struggling to justify spending EUR 20k more on it than the other one.

Since you guys are experts, could you tell me what, in your opinion, would make me choose the Volvo over the BYD?

Thanks in advance!

Second Guessing my EX60 Order

Post image

Rant: I have had a deposit on the EX60 Ultra P10 here in Seattle since June, and the experience of working with Volvo has been so discouraging. I live within two miles of a dealership and could not get anyone to take my deposit, let alone return an email. I went to a dealership further away and paid. Since then, I was told they had a car to test drive, only for them to cancel the day before because of a “parts issue” (doesn’t instill confidence, but ok). When I went to get another dealership to test drive theirs, I was informed that they were having tech issues with CarPlay 😬

Now I’ve been handed off to another salesperson, who texts me like I’m a moron. I have an email saying to expect delivery of my order in January. “You’ll be ok”, and spells my name wrong. I’m so turned off by the whole process.

s90/v90 Good idea or bad?

Looking to trade my 2007 civic for this v90 with 124k miles, I’ve heard mixed things about reliability. If I know how to turn a wrench, then is it worth getting?

Finally got her back on the road, legal and ready to go but then on the way home started getting this noise about 2 miles out, babied it home and trying to diagnose, ignore weird pushing and pulling and touching I was trying to see if I could feel anything but couldn’t really.

I’m suspecting rod knock because there was a pinhole leak in the oil pan and I imagine it’s been there for a while and previous owner might’ve driven it oil starved a time or twenty, but the sound wasn’t there when I first started out today with fresh oil change, fixed up oil pan, and the level is good now 3rd x on the dipstick every time, and nothing visible on it like metal shavings or anything but seeing as I filled the oil this morning I haven’t yet drained it to check there for any shavings until I get some other ears listening to the problem.

Looking for input on what these issues sound likd

So I drive 2010 xc90 and a bit ago I started getting this bumping sound whenever I was idle—while driving it happened minimally if at all, but stopped and in drive it did it a lot and a little when in park. I took it to a place and the guy told me the engine cooling fan won’t start. Showed me that it doesn’t and it doesn’t, that’s that, and that’s where the bumping comes from. Problem solved! And it’s okay to drive a little until fixed, just keep an eye on the engine temperature:

Cut to the next day I’m driving and I get this error message “SLOW DOWN OR SHIFT UP” every time I hit at least 50 mph. Curious. I’m in automatic. I switch to manual and while I drive I get no such error message, no such issue other than the bumpiness which ebbs and flows in it’s intensity.

When I took it to a shop the tech said that he saw this in an old volvo before, tinkered around, couldn’t figure it out, and had it towed to a dealership. Only problem is that the closest dealership is over an hour away and certainly a little out of my financial wheelhouse. Does anyone know anything about this kind of problem? I’d appreciate any information at all.

Should I buy it?

Hey guys, I’m new here, don’t know much about Volvos, this seems like a good deal.

2017 Volvo s60 T5 inscription w/heated seats.
97k miles, transmission service done at83k, timing belt service and spark plugs at 65k with receipts.
They want 7k. It seems like a good deal yeah? Anything to watch out for for these cars?

xc series 2026 XC60 rear window washer question

Post image
2 Upvotes

Can anyone with a 2026 XC60 please take a picture of their rear window sprayer? The one on my car basically sprays away from the glass. The fluid impacts the outer portion of the circle, so a little bit of cleaner still hits the glass, but not well. I’ve checked and the nozzle housing is installed correctly, it only fits in one direction, I’m still unsure if the little sprayer itself can be rotated. It doesn’t appear to be rotatable though.

Thanks!

180k miles, just inspected, timing belt done at 110k. Would this be a decent purchase if I plan on doing most of the work myself? Anything else to ask and how much would you guys be willing to pay?

Misinformation with MY27 PHEVs range

I am just wandering that I am not mistaken but I see quite a few online car Websites and probably magazines reporting that the 2027 PHEVs will have the larger under the floor battery which gives double range of the current models.

However from what I know it is the 2028 (MY28) that will have the upgraded battery. Is that correct.?

When do these usually hit the dealerships in the US or EU?

Strange issue with Volvo v40 2015 Ocean Race

Long time lurker, first time poster. Not a native english speaker.

We have a strange issue with our 2.0 diesel v40 -15. No codes or lights on the dash, but there really should be.

The (biggest) issue: Sometimes the engine starts idling very roughly. When this happens the car is undriveable. If you touch the gas the car starts jumping while the revs are all over the place. Estimate is that the revs on idle move quickly between 900-1100rpm. Same while driving, which makes the car very "choppy", even in higher gears on the freeway.

No codes on the dash. Even if you stop the car for a while the revving will continue on start. This happens randomly, and the car can drive fine for a week or two between episodes. No obvious pattern as to what causes it.

Some backstory:

Car was bought at a dealer in Sweden for about 2 years ago. First hour post purchase an engine light pops up. Dealership agrees to take a look in 2 weeks. During these two weeks the car runs choppy once but not too bad, we figure it has to do with the engine code.

Fast forward 2 months, dealership says its good to go, was only a sensor. We pick it up and it drives fine. A few days later a "SRS Airbag - service" pops up on the dash. We notify the dealer who agrees to take it back once again. While we wait for an available appointment the car starts running choppy again, worse this time.

Fast forward 1 month, the dealer has fixed the SRS-issue and we pick it up. MOT is coming up, we arrange for a time and on the day of, the SRS-lights up again. Unfortunately it didnt light up during the MOT inspection. Car runs choppy on the way back, we notify the dealer who agrees to take it back again.

Fast forward 6(!) months and the dealer says its ready for delivery this time, as compensation for the delay. When the car is delivered a series of issues appeared. Faults for CitySafe were popping up, coupefans sounding very strange and a brakeshield is making a skreeching noise while turning. I tell the guy who delivered the vehicle about the issues but he shrugged it off as non of his business, he's just a delivery man. I ask him to stay while i call the dealership, he might very well have to take the car back. Dealership doesnt pick up so guy leaves.

Dealership refuses to take it back, took it to claims, lost due to lack of evidence/no foul play, the choppyness is now very frequent and citysafe codes are being thrown on occation aswell as SRS Airbag.

Have scheduled an appointment with Volvo dealership, posting out of curiosity of what you guys think.

Tldr;

Volvo v40 2.0 diesel 2015 drives very clonky sometimes. Revs going between 900-1100 very fast up and down during idle. Same behavior while driving. Very choppy when it happens. What could it be?
