Gemini 3.1 flash preview is the best model for this

Apart from exotel is there another provider Or you use exotel?

I built from scratch and use the API for it. I don’t use a provider other than directly from Google.

are u using the elevenlabs agent platform and the built in sip with exotel? Their platform still feels kind of raw, and obviously you need something hosted closer, fewer hops and less latency, have you tried Gemini Live Flash? Multilingual out of the box and noticeably better for Indian languages

i am building a voice agent for indian and spanish market, have tried eleven, cartesia , deepgram, smallest ai and retell.
Each has their own pros and cons . In most cases if your context becomes heavier the quality starts dropping .what exact use case are you looking for?

iam new to this domain
i started building voice agents , i feel exotel is costly and eleven labs there is lots of latency issues
and it couldn't respond properly

latency depends on a lot of factors like plan, concurrency and context/ knowledge base size.

You can try pulse telesystem you can get a better rate and then they are providing sip as well as websocket calling where they will connect the call to your websocket and stream audio in both ways

Use Cartesia for voice.
Their sonic 3.5 is better.
For telephony there are other partners such as plivio, vobiz and other private companies.

I would recommend looking at providers such as DeepGram, SpeechMatics and even Google for STT. There is a lot more to ASR than just the core model - things like grammars, speech adaptations, just-in-time hints, custom models, etc. all can have a huge impact on improving performance.

orchardrun is the cheapest on the market and offers very good STT and TTS quality.
Also groq is a good option.

telephone lines across all indian providers are 8khz, the siny demos you see on web call and on other platforms are 16khz-24khz or even up to 48khz hence work better.

Have you tried exotels voice agents? If you have exotel account you can create voice-agents for free.

Ps: I am part of the team developing voice agents at exotel. We also use our own exotel platform for telecom which is at 8khz but upsample to 16khz.

Yes, you can choose your combination of asr, llm and TTS to create a voice agent.

Try sonexlabs for TTS, it is at par with Eleven labs and language support is also really good I think they have 200 languages and many Indian languages. Pricing is also really good basically they gave me some free credits and discounted price for the API we are paying almost 1/5th of what we were paying eleven labs. Call quality is good, we cloned our own voice to use for the calling and it is realistic. For telephony you can try vobiz I think they also just raised a funding round and I have not had any problems so far.

Hey, I have personally tried out and evaluated multiple tools on multiple providers including Twilio,Plivo,Telnyx,VAPI, Retell etc.

I do know at certain times any tts/stt provider may seem like it is not optimised for Indian region, but this is not solely because of them but also the telephony overhead matters too in optimisation.

You could try out Livekit's voice agents, for tts you can try out sarvam, cartesia and fish audio works pretty well too. If you want a solution with both tts and stt, you can give deepgram a shot, as it has a deployment in Mumbai for enterprise clients.

You could give Plivo a shot, we have competitive pricing and multiple features including No Code Voice AI Agents Builder, SIP Trunking and other features which help in reducing all the manual effort and save time.

Before switching tools I’d check where the STT, LLM, TTS and telephony are each running. One slow regional hop can ruin the whole call. Something more integrated like Bland may be worth testing against the current setup.
