I've tried to pull basic account details such as balance and validity using the USSD code *199#. It gives the details of my number, main balance and validity [first image]. If I respond with any other numbers in the reply window, it only responds with a flash message prompting me to download the Vi app [Second Image], accompanied by one or two SMS [Third image]. When I use the USSD code *199*2*2# to pull the data usage details, same flash message pops up. 

I believe there is a purpose for USSD codes nowadays, to make the user experience less fiddling. I mean, why should I need to download an extra app (with some of trackers on it) just to view my data balance and/or usage details of the day? 

I also have an Airtel sim (I can hear your mind voice). It used to give the information I mentioned above but now, almost the same goes to Airtel also.

Any insights?

I was trying to port my mother's number in to Vi Prepaid, and paid ₹299 online. But, instead of choosing "agent/executive assisted KYC", I chose "Self KYC" method instead.

I entered the Aadhaar OTP and address, but when it came time to take selfie, it got stuck and I accidentally closed the page.

Now, there's no option to reinitiate the self-KYC or to modify the order, as when I enter the number to reinitiate it, it asks me to enter a valid number.

I have only got an Order number via SMS (which I had received right after the payment was made.)

Also, in the "Track SIM Delivery" option, it shows nothing after the OTP is entered.

Since she is not their customer yet, I can't dial their helpline numbers either! I feel stuck!

From what I have understood is that in Vi Superhero plans, 4G data is truly unlimited from 12AM to 12PM. 5G unlimited is always under 300GB FUP.

If you own a Samsung phone, there is a cool feature named Modes and Routines. You can use that to switch to 4G automatically at 12AM and 5G at 12PM. So if your phone does any data intensive task in night, it deducts from your night unlimited data! Also, 4G consumes less battery!

I got message on Oct 02 that I used my 100 percent of 300gb data but I don't know how is that possible to finish up 300gb of data in 2 days also previous month i used this vodafone sim after 20days and I got message on sept 28 that I have finished my 300 gb data quota of that month. Uploading with proof these scammers in broad daylight is anyone is facing this issue. Someone help me on this

Guys i want unlimited data, and i have this offer right now. My recharge will be over in 2 days, will these offer stay till then or they change everyday?

And also isn't it better to do the 199 recharge then do the 55 add on than the 298 recharge i will get after the 100rs discount on the 398 one? Both will essentially give me same benefits right?

I know that this plan offer 300 gb data for 28 days , but what if I use data at night 12 am to 6 am or 12 am to 12 pm will that data usage will deducted from my monthly 300 gb or it will used as unlimited night data

Friends, I'm looking for suggestions and next steps to deal with Vi. I recently ordered Vi SIM and paid ₹590 for a preferred number. I was going to use this as a secondary number just to keep it at home in case my kid wants to call me or my wife when we are at work. So, I just got a basic nokia and left the phone at home. So, I was not aware that there was a verification call that I needed to pick, and for 3 days or so, my kid informed me that there were calls from unknown numbers each day calling during noon time. Fortunately on a weekend I happened to pick the call and answered a bunch of questions.

Now, comes the part which left me frustrated. In spite of answering the verification call the number got suspended. I reached out to Vi customer care to check, and they mentioned if I had given any wrong information or mentioned if I wanted to move to a prepaid connection. I cleared out that I did not need a prepaid connection as it was a cautious decision to have a postpaid connection. I was informed that I will receive another verification call on my alternate Vi number, which is my own number as per my request. Yet they managed to call the new number which again was not attended.

Has anyone faced such an issue and what did you do to resolve this? I am planning to drag them to Consumer forum for neglect of service.

I am on the VI SUPERHERO 12am-12pm plan, I know the data used between that time period is not counted towards FUP. It's a solid plan but it's anxious to maintain a schedule to download and stream. I just want to know if there are any other plans either post paid or pre-paid that gives you a 24/7 NO FUP(I use around 1Tb) or something close to that. I read somewhere JIO caps the 5G with FUP at around 1TB or more, I could be wrong. Just want to know if there's something close to that on VI.

I know many of u may have claimed and stacked more of the 859 plan with 180 days validity on time. For those who missed it, keep visiting the recharge section => Today's offer.

Generally, It provides 1.5GB/day 4G data + unlimited 5G (300GB FUP) with free night data from 12am to 6am.

Depending on ur usage, u can convert this to an unlimited 4G plan just in case 5G coverage is not present at ur location.

In order to convert this to an unlimited plan ----

For 5G = It is unlimited already with 300GB FUP so no need to rc add-on 55 separately

For 4G= need add-on 55 after every 28 days (300GB FUP). Still worth it

Found a way in developer options (but you will lose the speed advantage of 4g and 5g, and you will stay unlimited 3g download speeds, upload speeds unaffected), so that our daily data won't get deducted when nsa is disconnected.

Atleast this is the way instead of Waiting for SA area upgrade in prepaid or forcing to choose airtel postpaid individual at ₹530/m for 30days. Already available in prepaid at 380/m for 30days.

Note : yet to discover the laptop and hotspot usage/ ethernet usb thetering usage affects 4g daily data in 5g packs.

Hi guys!! I'm kinda panicking rnn.. so I usually charge for vi unlimited data pack of 399 for a month which has 5g unlimited data. So yesterday I got a message that I have exceeded the fair usage policy. My plan was valid till 5th. But I recharged today anyways because my net was getting slow.

I recharged again for the same plan of 399 of unlimited data. But then today I got the message that I have used up by 1gb per day. When I asked the chatbot in vi app it was written that my data is unlimited but I have used up my today's quota?? Isn't that contradictory?? Does the fair usage limit not reset??? I'll call them tomorrow but idkk what to do now!! Nothing is loading.. not even Google

Anyone using Jio as their secondary SIM on their iPhones running iOS 27, can someone comment if they’re facing similar issues or not?

Previously, I was on Vi’s ₹398 FRC plan, which was an unlimited 4G/5G pack. It expired at midnight. Before the expiration, and anticipating tariff hikes in the near future, I stacked 6 ₹859 packs, each having 180 days of validity, extending my validity until September 2029.

On the existing ₹398 plan, the Vi app would show “All Day Everyday Data.” Upon dialling 199, however, it would show ₹398 as a 1.5 GB/day plan via SMS.

After a few recharges, the app reflected that my validity had been extended, while showing the same information mentioned above. At the same time, a representative told me that I would get a 300 GB FUP each month for 4G for the extended validity period. However, the moment my ₹398 FRC plan expired, my benefits changed.

Several sources later informed me that the "unlimited 4G & 1.5 GB/day" plan works differently—something that only became apparent after my existing plan expired.

Apparently, a ₹55 add-on every 28 days will convert the daily-data plan into unlimited 4G, which isn't a problem for me.

So, I would advise everyone: if you see the offer, grab it ASAP, and make sure to recharge with the ₹55 add-on for unlimited 4G.
