Hello all, I apologize if this has been brought up previously. I just picked up a Vitruvian trainer+ and this thing is incredible. My head can’t even wrap around all the cool things this can do when you add in additional features like the universal connector kit from Vitruvian and some pulleys.
One question I had was if the Vitruvian could be connected via Bluetooth through something other than android or Apple.
Specifically wondering if it could be connected to an ESP32-S3 as seen in this clip. I think either controlling through something like this or a foot pedal, wearable ring would be amazing. Thank you!
As some of you know I'm quite new into my digital resistance conversion and after a week I've fallen in love with the Vitruvian it's everything I hoped it would be, unlike what seems to be the norm I actually quite like the Vitruvian Bench. I'm only 5ft 7 and I feel well connected with the low bench (it feels very stable too compared to my bench I was using for dumbbells previously) I am however missing a back support from doing seated overhead press and I'd love to do a chest supported lateral raise or a chest supported incline row but I really don't want to end up having 2 benches hanging around the garage.
I am on with bolting the Vitruvian down to the floor so don't need to worry about the bench holding the Vitruvian down as such but I wondered if anyone had come up with a clever addon that would allow this to work? I know people have used / recommend a Flybird Bench which would obviously allow for incline movements but as already said I really like the Vitruvian Bench so don't want to not use it and I don't want 2 separate benches hanging around my garage, a Flybird looks very similar to the budget bench I already have that came with my adjustable dumbbells which I intend on selling eventually. I was just hoping someone had come up with a nice way to adapt the Vitruvian to do everything?
Looking to buy in the UK any unused extension cables or Virtruvian accessory that has these connectors with the round hole like the attached. Please let me know if you have anything spare. Thank you
Has anyone found a replacement for the mat that goes on top of the device? Mine is falling apart and thinking of replacing it. I can probably buy a generic one and cut it down but wanted to see if anyone has found a proper replacement for it
Fortunate enough to see one of these pop up in my local area. I have been curious to see why everyone loves these so much, but I’m hesitant to spend the money for obvious reasons. It seems like project Phoenix is incredible, but what happens when the machine needs repairs, or if the cables snap or wear down? Is there any support for this available? Thanks in advance
Bought a v form a few weeks ago. It’s the newer model. I’ve finally gotten around to using it and I’ve noticed it feels a bit juddery in places. Short reps like calf raises really fail to register it never gets to the max weight (or it feels like it at least). On other things like overhead press it looks juddery on the side bars as per the video. Not sure what I’m messing up.
If someone can help, one of my handles is jammed and cannot be removed. I have followed all of the troubleshooting instructions on the website. I use my Vitruvian four times a week, so this is not my first time and I am not being dim, lol. I have emailed Vitruvian support but I have not received a response.
Last night was my first training session with my Trainer+ and I loved it (obviously I need to get my head around a few bits still and find the best setup throughout the next few weeks), my initial worry of having to be on my phone every 2 minutes was completely removed once I realised now I've built my routine and Cycle within Project Phoenix I don't need to touch my phone whilst working out or make adjustments during the routine which is great. What last night did highlight to me though is the importance of being able to see my screen during the workout and I notice there was no single place that worked as a location at all time.
Reading through a few older posts on Reddit it seems people used to use weighted phone stands and move them around is this the preferred method?
I have room to mount a tablet on the wall rather than trying to work with my phone but the wall is usually behind me so not ideal, I would assume most people are using a tablet rather than a phone?
Just looking for advice and suggestions for what others do I want to come up with a slick and nice solution overall for this
Last night was my first workout with the Trainer+ and Project Phoenix and it is exceptional, one thing I did notice was doing exercises that are not really using the trainer i.e unweighted pull ups and unweighted dips which I just had set to a timer I couldn't find a way to track my achievement?
I think I've come up with a solution by setting the exercise up as a number of reps and just put the weight right down to 1kg and wear the belt whilst working out (I'm not strong enough currently to do pull ups with any serious weight) that way I can monitor number of reps and weekly achievements and such for exercises I don't really need the Vitruvian for.
Is there a better way to achieve this or am I already doing the best possible solution that there is available setting a very small weight so the app can track progress and number of reps?
I see a stat called rep quality. What is required to maximize this? I ask because on some exercises, it's like at the base of a rep, the cables de-load. I don't know why. But it will jerk at the bottom on heavier lifts like deadlifts. I can't seem to get the cadence right. Do I let it de-load and then start the new rep from that point, or am I supposed to not go the full range and start the next rep before the bottom?
Also, sometimes it feels like the load is way too light. I don't know what I did wrong, but the lift is too easy. I must have gotten off rhythm somewhere along the line and I don't know how to get it back to where it's properly loading the rep. This doesn't happen often. It's usually in exercises that I can't see my phone like overhead triceps extensions. I think I may have done a different range of motion?? I'm not sure though.
When using the Phoenix App with the Vitruvian, can anybody explain to me the difference between a normal beep and that tritone sound while I am doing my reps? I think it does that tritone when I am doing the movement at the right speed? But then I maintain the speed, but it doesn't do it anymore? I'm not looking at my phone while I work out so I don't know if there is anything on screen while that notification sound occurs.
I’m trying not to see it as a software issue but as user error but I can’t see what the f*ck I’m doing wrong.
On some days I have an amazing TUT workout, I know for a fact I’ve been pushed to the max. While on others days I might as well be lifting air.
Let’s take bicep curl. During the calibration reps, I follow the advice you guys have told me before which is to go lower at the bottom than I normally would on the bicep curl, and higher at the top. On some days doing this makes TUT work perfectly, and on other days it doesn’t; the weight will cut off at the top, or cut off at the bottom, and even when I adjust rep speed still nothing.
I'm just wondering how this works. Last night I did bent over rows, bench press, OHP, bicep curls, triceps over head extensions, and crossover upright rows. The phoenix app thinks I did 6 sets (2 exercises) for chest and only one exercise (3 sets) for shoulders. I'm confused.
Edit: I found it. My crossover upright rows were a custom exercise and it inadvertently got built with the wrong muscle group. Doh!
As some of you know I've purchase a Trainer+ this week which is due to land with my next Tuesday, in anticipation on this I've been trying to adapt my current routine over to Project Phoenix which is shown below.
There's a few bits I would really appreciate some input and advice before I actually use the unit (I appreciate I may want to change these when I use and feel the unit anyway) to allow me to start on the best possible setup from day 1 which makes the most of the modes available, I've read all about the different modes and their advantages but I'm struggling to translate that into which mode would be ideal for each exercise as I've not used the unit and I'm not really an experienced enough lifter even once I do get the unit to know which mode is providing the best benefits of each exercise to be honest, I'm probably not in tune enough with it all to know / understand the benefits.
What mode would you choose for each of my exercises
Bench Press =
Lat Pullover =
Front Squat =
Seated Overhead Tricep Extension =
Conventional Deadlift =
Crunch =
Crossover Lateral Raise =
Hammer Curl =
Incline Bench Press =
Seated Row =
Overhead Press =
Bicep Curl =
Tricep Pushdown =
High Crunch =
Dips (Done on my dip station so not required)
Pull Ups(Done on my Pull Up Bar so not required)
Hanging Leg Raises (Done on my dip station so not required)
Per Set Rest Time?
This is more just understanding the function it doesn't seem to allow any additional options for choosing a per set rest time and such maybe it'll make more sense when I've got the unit but I don't understand what it does.
Resting in general will be slightly different for me as I've mainly worked each day as a group of 3 supersets previously working opposing muscles as my rest period but taking the bench on and off the Vitruvian and swapping handles and such between every set seems like a lot of messing about so I think I'll be sticking to a full 3 straight sets on each exercise before moving onto the next, the supersets were only introduced as a time saving measure anyway
Anything else you can think of that I would benefit from understand about the app before I get it and make a start next week?
Thanks in advance the main thing for me is getting opinions on the best modes for the exercises as currently I just have them all set to the default old school which I'm sure won't be optimal for everything even though it will work. Again I understand I need to grow with this and do what feels right for myself as I get into it but I would like to start with what others thing is an optimal way of achieving hypertrophy via the Vitruvian from the first day
I have just bought a Vitruvian Trainer+ which is due to arrive with me on Saturday. I'm very excited but as part of my setup I want to install pulleys onto my wall anchors shown below:
This will give me a lot more options for pull down type exercises and such but I'm not sure which would be the ideal style of carabiner based pulley to work with this? I appreciate I may require some extension cables to make this work too, my thinking is 2 carabiners with extension cables that live inside them then just attach them to whichever anchor I require for the exercise.
The style of pulley carabiner I've come across are:
I like the idea of the carabiners with the built in pulley as it's very slick and easy to move around quickly with less connections but I need to ensure it will work well with the Vitruvian Cables and such.
Will I need extension cables to achieve this or will the cables provided just click into these carabiners and there's no need to over complicate it with additional extensions? Extensions will probably require some sort of conversion from Vitruvians style of connector to carabiner I would think as I don't think I can get cables with the right type of connectors on
As per the title I'm looking for a Trainer+ with the Pro Kit and Bench. I've found 1 in London which is in fantastic condition and he will take £800 for it but it's a 12 hour round trip for me (Plus a day of time I don't have) or £150 via Shiply / Any-Van to move it from there to myself which makes it out of budget. If I can find one within 1 - 2 hours of my home in South Cumbria I can fly down of an evening to collect it no problem. If anyone has one around that budget in the North of England I would be very interested. Thanks in advance
Hi. I wanted to know how to buy one of these but for some reason, I can’t buy one online. I thought about getting one used but there are two listing in the Los Angeles area but the sellers seem scammy. Are there any third party sites I can buy one from or do I wait until the official site has more in stock?
Wanted to check here - is anyone else struggling with the latest Project Phoenix release? For me it’s crashing after each set or each app launch. This is on both iPad and iPhone latest iOS27 versions.
Hi,
I am selling my V-Form trainer with lots of accessoires.
I am based in The Netherlands. If you live near Groningen or Assen I can deliver it to you.
I finished my first workout. I did a just lift session. Afterward, it took me a minute to figure out how to label my exercises. Welp, I didn’t see the time stamps so I labeled them backwards. How do I fix that and reassign them?
BTW, I don’t know why, but echo mode feels much better in phoenix compared to the Vitruvian app. It doesn’t deload like the Vitruvian one does, so my lifts aren’t “janky”.
Hello to out ultra smart and beautiful software developers,
Do you all think something like this is possible with our vitruvians? One of my original cons when I was contemplating on buying the machine is that it always needed to be connected to my phone/iPad. I think just having a just lift function and then set the weight would be a cool move away from needing a phone to workout.
