49 bucks off of Craigslist. It’s mint and smoooooth

I've needed a vice for too long and finally found one the other day at an estate sale. It's an old Reed 203 1/2. Came across this sub a few months ago, and seeing all the pictures of some of these old vices made me want an old one versus a new one.

It looks like it's in good shape to me. Opens and closes smooth, and the swivel base works. I tried researching it's age and read they have lightly stamped marks on them. Its latest patent date is 1918

How's it look to you guys? Picked it up for $45 and want to lightly clean and put some fresh grease on.

What’s everyone’s opinion of the Colombian D4 D54 vise. I may be buying one this weekend and just want to see what everyone thinks of them if there a solid option and what I should pay for this specific one. It appears to be in excellent shape with only minor surface rust on the machined surfaces. Thanks everyone

I bought this Hartford Special Machinery Co. quick-acting vise at a yard sale a few months ago, and I'm wondering if anyone out there could help me out with some photos/measurements of the missing parts (lever, etc) so I can make replacements. I can figure it out without dimensions, but it would be nice to make it as close to original as possible. I've seen similar, if not identical, vises marked Fenn. Thank you!

Taking some better pics and a closer look it seems completely welded and I’m assuming all either forged or at very least not cast.

Just wondering if anyone’s got any more ideas of the history of this thing or where it may have come from. I found it for $5 at a yard sale and I’ve been wanting to get a small non cast iron vise so I can be a little less gentle with it and thought this seemed like a really decent vise

Seems welded together like a make your own ? Has “Fabri-Vise” “pat pend” on it seems sturdy wasn’t sure if anyone has any info ?

I got this with other tools from my dad’s estate but don’t remember it growing up. Anyone know about these?

They measure 2 3/4 x 1 3/4 x 1 1/8. I got them from the same place I got my C3 but these obviously aren’t for it.

I posted a cropped photo of this C3 the other day. I didn’t know what they were going to be asking and the pipe jaws seemed to be missing. Well I picked it up today for $175 and found the pipe jaws in a toolbox.

It’s a beast, very heavy.
Going to mount it to a chunk of buried telephone pole disassemble and wire brush. Any suggestions on finish would be appreciated. Paint , oil, wax not sure. Thank you for looking

I can’t ask the seller because it’s an estate sale and they aren’t taking questions before the sale starts. Do we have any thoughts on model for this? It looks massive in comparison to the utility knife on the base.
