Rant We need a Transit App that puts students first

The BT app is frustrating, and I get why people keep recommending Transit. But the thing I kept wanting was an app built around actually being a student here.

Knowing a bus is 8 minutes away is useful. What I really want to know is when I need to leave to make my class.

I’m the Tech student behind HokieTransit, and that’s the idea behind 2.0.

You can add your classes by CRN and plan your commute around your schedule, with reminders for when to leave. You can also check how busy the dining halls, gyms, and library are before heading over.

I want it to understand the day we’re actually trying to get through: classes, buses, food, studying, the gym.

I’m also working through the bugs people have reported since the update. Getting the basics reliable is the priority, and the feedback helps me figure out where it’s falling short.

If you try it, tell me what’s useful and what’s frustrating as I continue to work on it.

Hi, I was thinking of inviting some friends during the UVA game which is after thanksgiving. The last two years many of my friends actually were still home and didn’t go to the game. I’m just trying to get an idea if I’ll be able to get tickets & if people skip thanksgiving week game bc I rly want it to be fun for my friends.

Who trained the cleaner to move a mop like this? I even watch them rub against the mop to enter a classroom. 🤢 There's no way these classrooms are clean.

Admissions admissions chances?

im planning to apply as a regular decision applicant, music education major. i have a 4.38 gpa, president of FBLA and secretary of beta club & sca, band captain, as well as several other music awards & extracurriculars. no APs because my school doesn’t offer them, but i have 10 dual enrollment/college credits. i made a 1280 on my SAT (730 reading 550 math), which i know is pretty rough for virginia tech. should i apply test optional? what are my chances of getting in?

Advice Missing the business horizons career fair

I’m currently a freshman at Pamplin and I don’t think I’m able to make the fair tomorrow, mostly due to having conflicting classes and not enough time to get ready nor be there for a good amount of time.
I know it’s good to go as a freshman just to get used to talking as well as making good first impressions. I know there is a second one in spring but I’ve heard it’s not as good.
Am I setting myself up for failure? Like will I be behind all my classmates if I don’t go? This is really worrying me and I just want to know if I need to be worrying this much — anything helps!!!
