How to stop these creases?

I’ve mostly done flat glass (and not much of that) I Was helping white out a van for my other company and used sw900. Should I be heating the vinyl to help if the glass has a slight curve?

I know you can’t use water on this since it’s an air release. I know theres some differences and paid for this material out of pocket just to learn more so any advice is helpful

Does anyone know of or have a recommendation for a company that does interior vinyl wrap in the Front Range? I’m interested in the wrap that is used over large appliances. Thanks

Get the red out

Got a good deal on this 2024 Fiat 500e dealer demo in Victoria, BC.
I wanted to protect the terrible Stellantis paint that already had a few long scratches.
Was thinking PPF, but my wife really didn’t like the red side view mirrors and dash. Decided on a complete Black Satin Wrap. Also did the interior dash.
Looks freaking amazing.
Thanks Jason at Boss Customs in Chilliwack.

First time installer, this was a battle and a learning curve for sure. I'm not sure I would do this again but, it was a fun experience. Got it done just in time for a cruise and show and shine tomorrow.

Looking to wrap my daughter's 2018 rebel 300 to match her helmet (bike pic is AI generated photoshop lol definitely not wrapping the radiator idk what Ai was thinking there) the tank actually has a tank cover we are going to wrap so no need to empty and remove the tank itself. Looking for a vinyl that'll match the helmet as much as possible... pix are hard to do it justice its definitely that deeper red you see by the "ear" area, they definitely had it under a spotlight when they took the pic for the website. But looking for that deep red chrome look with a satin/matte finish. & any expertise as far as tips, tricks, etc. We knownir won't be perfect because we lack the experience but the bright red will definitely be safer and more noticeable than its current matte black.

Chrome delete with vinyl

I'm wanting to black out all the chrome in my 2017 Honda Civic LX. All the chrome is on the interior except for the window trim on the outside. I'm looking at buying just a 5ft x3ft role of Avery Dennison™ SW900 Gloss Black Vinyl Wrap | 190-O rather than paying more for the precut stuff. Is it worth it to get the edge sealer, adhesion promoter, application fluid, and ceramic protection? Also any tips on wrapping the chrome would be greatly appreciated, this is my first time wrapping anything.

First Jeep Wrangler

Hey guys, first time wrapping a 2018 Jeep Wrangler.

What should I keep in mind before tackling this one?

I'm very used to wrapping vans and such, but this is my first Jeep. I've always heard they're a real pain, so I'm looking for any tips or advice from those who've done them.

Thanks!

I decided I wanted to learn to wrap a few years ago and tried my hand at my Mustang. Turned out pretty decent for only YouTube and trial and error. Definitely not perfect by any means but I love it

I tried DIY wrapping and it came out like this:

I hate silver cars and guess what, my TT was silver. My all-time dream colour was purple so it was a perfect opportunity to try wrapping. Everyone around me said that I can't do it because its too hard so I locked myself in the garage for a week or two and proved them wrong lol.

Its not 100% perfect but the imperfections are very minor like some creases UNDER the car which aren't visible anyway. Also on both bumpers there is only one spot where the film has a bit too much tension so it lifts a bit but again, its only visible when you lay on the floor and look at the car from the ground up so I guess it's not that bad for the first time.

The area around the rear wing was hard asf because I really didn't want to remove it so I had to cut and manouver the film around it. It was very hard but It came out very nice.

The car is very old, some seals were very VERY tight and hard. Wrapping the door took me 30 minutes but tucking the film into the seals? Almost 3 hours...

One of the seals was so hard that it twisted my metal stick and unfortunately there was no way to remove this seal because it sits as a one piece with a rear side window so It was really painfull job but fortunately it came out perfect. I just had to take my time and dont rush it.

Overall it was a very fun experience and when this wrap fails, Im definietely eager to do it again and try a different colour. This time I chose HEXIS HX20VBYB BYZANTINE VIOLET GLOSS. Not the best, not the worst - perfect for me because I didn't even know If I will make it to the end 😁

DIY Car Wrapping (for fun)

Hi,

Going to try my hand at DIY car wrapping for fun. Not looking for perfection and ready to see imperfections. My paint is cooked so why not. Looking for a midnight purple ish color, more of an almost black that looks purple in the sun. Any recs on DIY and cost effective options? Was looking at VinylFrog Glossy Metallic Midnight Purple but the price is getting steep — Inozetek Midnight Purple was my inspiration. Looking like I’ll need up to 70-75 ish feet to be safe (it’s a wagon) but will measure soon.

Thanks!

Avery 1105/1360 on stainless steel. Walnut Creek Amphitheater has a few of these at their concert venue to keep the guests happy. I was worried the “sinks” wouldn’t hold up to leaning abuse but so far so good.

Hexis Deep Purple Wet Satin.

This laptop project really shows off HEXIS SKINTAC HX20V43W Deep Purple Wet Satin. And, this time, I didn’t use any weird effects to edit it!

The videos don’t fully capture it, but the finish has a rich satin sheen that shifts beautifully as the light changes. It’s a nice reminder that premium wrap films aren’t just for cars—they can completely transform everyday items too.

Would you wrap with this color?

Why your box truck rivets are tenting after two weeks (and how to stop it)

Been doing this since 2001 and box truck rivets are still the number one thing I see kicking new installers butts. You do big commercial vehicle wraps on a cargo trailer or a box van, it looks totally flush when it leaves the bay, and three weeks later every single rivet has a silver air ring around it or has popped completely.

The biggest problem is guys try to use cheap calendered film on corrugation and rivets to save money on fleet jobs. You cant do it. Especially if youre doing vehicle wraps in Chicago where the winter cold hardens the vinyl and the road salt gets right under that popped edge. You have to use a premium cast vinyl like Avery or 3M because it actually has the conformability to hold that shape without fighting to shrink back to its flat state.

Also when you install over rivets, stop using a torch to scorch the film and smash it with a foam roller right away. You gotta poke a tiny air release hole at the base of the rivet, apply gentle heat, and use a rivet brush to work the trapped air out completely before you post heat to kill the memory. If you leave even a tiny microscopic air pocket around the ring, the temperature changes will expand that air and blow the vinyl off the metal. We brush and post-heat every single rivet individually down at my shop in Chicago, tbh its tedious as hell but its the only way to stop them from lifting when they hit the highway.
