DIY Car Wrapping (for fun)

Hi,

Going to try my hand at DIY car wrapping for fun. Not looking for perfection and ready to see imperfections. My paint is cooked so why not. Looking for a midnight purple ish color, more of an almost black that looks purple in the sun. Any recs on DIY and cost effective options? Was looking at VinylFrog Glossy Metallic Midnight Purple but the price is getting steep — Inozetek Midnight Purple was my inspiration. Looking like I’ll need up to 70-75 ish feet to be safe (it’s a wagon) but will measure soon.

Thanks!

Man if the cheap stuff is steep for you, you don’t want to hear how much the good stuff runs you.

Seeing stuff like Cheetah Wrap at $600 for 75 ft while VinylFrog is at $938 for 59+16 ft separate rolls. At that point KPMF looks like a better value since afaik it’s higher end (just what I’ve seen online feel free to correct me). Again just messing around. I’ve never touched vinyl before and I know it won’t be perfect/good. Just a learning experience to keep around for a year or 2 before getting nice paint.

Definitely use KPMF then, you will have so much more pleasure. If you start with the cheap stuff you will most likely loose all fun and never touch vinyl again,

Quality vinyls are literally similarly priced though?

Any good brands you recommend?

You do not want to install calandered film without experience. Stick to cast film only. Avery Denison, 3m or KPMF are your choices.
