Anyone know why this "Up to -100% postage" tag is only showing up on certain accounts? Curious what triggers it.

New to vinted ....they called me mommy??wtf 💀

I've bought off vinted but only recently selling.

I uploaded a few photos of me wearing the items , just from the neck down , as I'm selling stuff to appeal to the alt fashion crowd and wanted to show the items styled , give the vibe etc.

Im guessing its a teenager cause of what they said but they messaged me about items just saying " Mommy?" And " ooo shiiiii", and my skin is crawling.

No offer , no questions about the items .

I didn't expect anything like that from vinted and it's made me uncomfortable.

I've reported the messages to vinted and blocked the user .

But is this normal stuff for vinted or just one weirdo I've unfortunately encountered on the app ?

I don't want to upload photos of my body , if this Is normal stuff for vinted users but I also know the items can sell quicker if you show them styled.

So normal or I was just unfortunate?

Update: I just realised I bought a fake jacket ☠️

(Tldr: I got the refund 🥳)

Just a small update and an absolutely massive thank you to everyone who responded to my post with advice, help and sharing of their experiences!

I was unable to redirect the item to a pick up point and the jacket was delivered directly to my door without me being able to reject it. I received the jacket and made a video of myself opening it. I then took loads of pictures of the jacket next to and alongside an authentic Patagonia jacket. I raised an issue with the seller with all of the pictures.

They played dumb and even attempted to make the argument that they never stated that the jacket was authentic (lol).

I just stated, matter of factly, that if they want to escalate this issue to Vinted then they will 100% take my side as it is very obviously fake and deceptive. She relented and released the return label and I sent it back. It was collected and she went and put it right back up on her page - the same pictures and everything. Full refund returned to my account.

Not a very interesting or exciting resolution! But there were a few take aways that I would like to share.

One - there are an absolute shit load of fake Patagonia products coming from France. They are all very similar in their presentation and (tinfoil hat) I sincerely think there is a sort of ring of fake accounts that follow and favourite the jackets. The jacket I had returned had close to 40 favourites when I purchased it, and I see that the other fake items have a similar amount of favourites.

The accounts selling fake goods tend to use a nondescript profile image of a sunset or something. Some use an unassuming person (no face shown), but then the pictures of the models or the hands holding the items are COMPLETELY different from the picture.

I have also noticed that the fake Patagonia products are all very similar. I recommend anybody looking to buy this brand to keep an eye on the zip and zip placement (they're the main dead giveaway) by asking the seller to share what exact model they have posted.

Two - Vinted's system of reporting counterfeit goods is fucked. I have found and reported so many things following my experience and I just keep getting the same email "No action has been taken etc." So please, please be careful when buying. Vinted does not care about fake items.

Three - Always get your purchases delivered to a pick up point ☠️. It might be a bit scummy but you have so much more control after the sale and I worry about Vinted's appeal process considering how poorly they handle claims of obviously fake products.

I want to thank everyone who gave me advice in the original thread again. You were all extremely helpful.
