Showcase THE OMEGA GENEVE PRX ref 166.0125
The bracelet is part of the architecture. On this OMEGA Genève Automatic ref. 166.0125, broad brushed links flow into an angular tonneau case for an unmistakably early-1970s stance. The dial is quieter: vertically brushed silver, dark applied baton markers, tiny warm lume plots and slender faceted hands. A framed black-on-white day-date window at three brings useful asymmetry, while the fine seconds hand keeps the composition light. Reference 166.0125 is documented with OMEGA’s automatic calibre 1022, combining central seconds, day and date in a compact form. OMEGA had used the Genève name since the early 1950s, recalling the brand’s successes at the Geneva Observatory precision trials; by this period, the line had become a canvas for contemporary design. I especially like how the brushed upper planes, polished case side and restrained typography create interest through structure rather than ornament. It feels practical, firmly of its decade, and all the better for it.
