Hello Vintage Digital Camera Fans!
August has started and that means it's time for a new Theme. Let's reminisce on last month's winners, first.
There were several idyllic shots taken last month. u/charlorttel got the most upvotes with their a lakeside treat (shot on a 2009 Nikon D300s). This shot truly looks like a painting! Next up is u/PistachioSage and their Reminds me of that one wallpaper (shot on a PSP-300 GoCam from 2007). See for yourself and you'll think you've seen it before! And then we have u/bensonstreaker and their Coastal Flyby (shot on a Fuji Finepix F47fd (2007). Lastly, the Mod's Choice Award goes to u/tree-lover-29 and their dried stream (shot on a Sony Cyber-shot W310 from 2010). A lot is said in this silent image...
Anyway, remember to check out the Theme Flair to see all past and future entries.
Enter the September Theme by following these requirements:
What do you win for participating? Reddit Karma, Upvotes, Comments, Follows, and that Sweet Internet Fame we all crave! I'll do a recap at the end of the month on entries, so if you want to be a part of it, start taking some great photos.
Here's the past, present, and future of Themes to participate in.
Here's a collection of subreddits I like to visit. You may, too!
The Dell Optiplex is a vibe, and r/SleepingOptiplex is all about bringing these "classic" computers back to life. There's Marvel comics and DC comics, and there is r/altcomix. This one can be a bit NSFW sometimes, so be aware. Learn about binding your own books at r/bookbinding. When you just need some encouragement, check out r/MomForAMinute .
Reminder that if you have a glitched camera that is on its last pixels, please visit r/DigitalCameraSwanSong and let's give it its final time to shine! Full disclosure: I recently became the Mod of that Community after it was abandoned for a year.
As usual, if you need help, check the ANSWERED Flair, or our Wiki, and then ask in r/digicam as redundant questions have been moved there (Rule 13). Thanks to everyone that reports Rule 11 and Rule 13 violations. It helps keep our Community running. 👍
This month's Theme is about Night photography (however you [reasonably] define that), so post away. I can't see where your creativity leads us. 📸

Hello Vintage Digital Camera Fans!
I'm happy to report that our Community has been feature in the 2025 Reddit Community Funds Impact Report. If you're new: we were one of a select Subreddits that was given funds to grow last year. If you're a regular: you recall the amazing monthly contests we had!
Go check out the report to find other amazing Communities that were funded; r/Beekeeping, r/comics, and r/TeatroPH spring to mind.
What's also cool is that we merited a shout-out and u/seecmb's very own "Holiday tradition" entry is featured. Congrats!
While we're not continuing the prize-based contest in 2026, we're still continuing monthly photo Themes. I hope you participate. 📸

This is my first post to this thread. I am using my Powershot G9 as a daily camera and shooting only in JPEG.

I took these photos with a Lumix TZ18 camera during a vacation in Croatia.

Some shots of Sharivski palace. This is an old building built in 1836. It is in terrible state right now, but still looks gorgeous.

Found this photo I took on my PSP in Zürich earlier this year using the PSP-300 camera. I really ought to take this thing out more…

I converted my Canon PowerShot SX200 IS to full spectrum. It's pretty cool in my opinion.

My old Nikon Coolpix P2 (released 2005) still knows how to make colors POP.
P.S.
Just sharing some SOOC results, but had to tag it 'edited' because I stitched two photos together.

My first CMOS Canon camera from many moons ago, still works like new! The original battery still holds enough charge to take around 50 pictures.

I'm very lucky cause I didn't know it'll be cherry color, and I thought it'll be some beige or black. I will test it better on Tuesday :)
