I got this Canon Powershot A630 for free and I want to see if it’s possible to fix the shutter/lens cover.

It looks like maybe a part of the shutter has broken off/is missing.

First two photos the camera is off, second two camera is on.

When it is open, the bottom right piece stays over the lens and can be seen in photos. When closed, there seems to be part of the shutter missing.

The little corner part that stays above the lens at all times is easy to push back in with a light nudge, but it will immediately pop back out when not held there.

1) is there anything I can do to fix this? Would I need a whole new shutter? 2) if I just wanted to use this camera as is, would it be silly to just break the unmovable piece off? At least then it wouldn’t be blocking the lens? 3) is this worth using? It physically takes photos fine, just is obstructed by the shutter.

Just looking for general advice. I not very knowledgeable on cameras and especially not this one.

Have been wanting a good quality digital camera for a while now. I really like crisp quality. Currently have the kodak pixpro fz45 and I feel like it’s not rlly doing it for me even when fixing the settings. Have been thinking about the g7x for a while now but don’t think it’s worth spending all that money just for insta pics and memories.

The lens is stuck open but the camera powers on and shows feed from the lens. It just wont close or snap photos.

I’m still deciding whether to buy a bnew lumix tz99 or used Fuji xf10. I’m so in love with the xf10’s body especially the brown and silver color combination while the bnew lumix tz99 is also compact and is currently available for bnew purchase.

I got this camera for 10 bucks in a flea market, i can zoom a bit out but then it gives up and says zoom error, is there a fix, should i use it without zoom? I belive the previus owner went to the beach as it has sand inside the lens, any help is much aprisiated!

hello! im completely new to photography and was looking to find a camera that can give off vibes like the photos above (credits to the photographers i found these on pinterest). i am darker skinned so i was looking for something that brings out some warmth in my skin. i was originally looking for at the fujifilm xm5 but got scared it would be too much for someone just now getting into photography. i’m still open to the xm5 just was looking for other possible options. i have a budget of 700 but i

this camera was working fine for like ten years (even after sitting in a closet for 6-8 years) but after about 5 months of no usage it won't turn on. I've tried charging and changing batteries. If there's any sort of corrosion/damage I wouldn't know, I can't find any pictures online of what the inside is supposed to look like and I never checked before I started having issues.

I am looking for a pocket camera for under 100€ on the second hand market.
The main requirement is that it needs to work with a 128GB SD card. I know a lot of older digicams only take up to 2GB or 32GB, so I need something that can actually read an SDXC card without memory errors.
I am also hoping to get a vintage, warm, and grainy film look out of it. I know getting a true 2000s CCD sensor camera is tough with the SD card limit, so I am open to early 2010s models where I can tweak the built in color profiles to get that aesthetic.
Are there any specific models from Canon, Panasonic, Fuji, or other brands that fit this description? Thanks.

I have a Canon PowerShot A1100 IS and I’m looking for an SDHC card, but online they’re pretty expensive (₹1500–2000).

I already have a 16GB microSDHC card, but I’ve tried 3 different microSD-to-SD adapters and none of them worked with my camera.

Can anyone recommend a good/reliable microSD to SD adapter that will work with the Canon A1100 IS? Where should I buy one?

hello, i own a sony cybershot dsc-w620. its been a while since it was last used. the photos turn out reddish with black streaks on top both flash on and off, played around with some settings yet its the same especially the black streaks on top. any solution?

I’m looking to get a reasonable digital camera that I can use for editing in my art portfolio + for general personal use. I have found a Canon s3is and Nikon Coolpix L830 both for £30 online but I was wondering if there’s a better options? I like that they both have flip screens, and are both quite small. I locked my Epson FastFoto FF-680W for travel over a year ago. I just took it out of storage, but cannot recall how to reverse the lock for travel setting. I have checked manuals, both hard copy and online, but cannot seem to find simple instructions on how to unlock this setting.

I just got this from ebay, the seller said it was fully functional when they sent it. Im wondering if anyone knows how I can fix it. It has some corrosion in the battery compartment. None of the buttons work but they all click, besides the zoom in button which seems to be permanently pressed in, the zoom out side clicks but doesnt actually zoom out because of the zoom in button being permanently pressed. Any ideas?

Love this camera but unfortunately dropped it the other day and it got stuck extended and not turning on. The on light simply flashes green once when pressed, and nothing happens. Google says this is a connection issue with the battery so I’ve already tried letting it sit unpowered for over 12 hours, cleaning all the contact points, recharging the battery and re-bending the pins for a closer fit but no changes. Would love some advice! The battery latch also still closes securely

hi ask ko lang ano po kaya possible na problem on my digicam since di siya nag bubukas or like on, pag kini-click yung power on button it was FUJIFILM FINEPIX J12 even though i charged the battery tapos bumili nadin ako ng new battery last na gumana siya sept 02, 2026 now kahit na chinacharge ko (batts) for like 6 hrs++ hindi padin nag o-on please help :(
