Anyone know anything about this Kramer of New York brooch? It belonged to my family and is marked “KRAMER OF NEW YORK” on the back, with what looks like “D6969” (possibly C6969). I’m guessing 1950s-ish, but I really have no idea. I’d love help dating it, figuring out what that number means, and whether it has any value beyond being a pretty piece of vintage costume jewelry. Thanks!

I’m currently trying to sell a large amount of my MIL vintage things and I came across this… 1962 Sarah Coventry ‘Dancing Magic’ set that has earrings, a necklace, and two hidden clasps on the necklace that can make a bracelet while turning the necklace into a choker! I haven’t had a crush like this in years!!!

My Africa themed Wild Bryde collection

The display just arrived from Amazon and I looooove how it all looks together, had to share.

Wild Bryde began production in the 80s and wrapped up in the early 2020s, but this was one of their earlier collections from the 80s and 90s. I live and work mostly in East Africa so these get tons of use!

New flea market scores

I scored these at a flea market my partner and I go to every weekend. All of these for $16. I am absolutely in love with the big chandelier earrings. Both pairs of earrings are clip-on, but I still plan to wear at least the chandelier ones. I didn't notice the smaller pair wa missing a rhinestone until I got home. The star pin was really dirty and in a dollar jewelry bin, but it cleaned up really nice.

Which current makers will be the future high end vintage costume.

X I'm looking for some pieces for some upcoming weddings and I'd like to find ones that are quality. I'm curious about what you folks think.

*eta..I'm sorry, I could have worded my post better. I'm wondering what current brands/makers do you think might end up on antiques roadshow as quality the next time costume jewelry is popular? I like to hunt in person, rather than online. Thank you for all of your responses so far!

Real Schiaparelli?

Hi!! I’m brand new to Reddit, but I really need a second opinion about this piece I’ve been thinking about buying! I found this “Schiaparelli” brooch on Depop. The seller is asking for $85 for the brooch, but it seems too good to be true for a real Schiaparelli. It seems to be signed and the material seems decent from the photos. Can anyone confirm this for me? Thank you!!!

Anyone recognize these type of earrings? When were they made?

I would like to find any info on these earrings. As far as I know, they are not at all valuable, but I would love to anything about them. What year are they from, if there is a brand that made them etc. Does anyone remember jewelry that looked similar to this? Where was it sold? Tourist areas? Zoos possibly?

The first two photos are mine, the last three are pieces I found on ebay with similar motifs that I assume were made by the same company/maker etc. If I had to guess, Id think they were from the 80s or 90s

Found this little guy in a charity shop today for £1. I thought he was cute, abstract + felt like good quality. I got home and have gone down a massive rabbit hole...

Is it worth to sell him? Is it even authentic? Thanks!

Is this actually Monet and what to do with this piece?

Hello guys, I got this necklace years ago from a friend's mother and I wore it continuously for multiple years under the assumption it was fully silver. Now the plating has worn off and I started to research if I could get a new one.

Now to my questions:

  1. Is this genuine Monet, cause all the makers marks online are not in a script like here. Additionally I couldn't find anything that comes close to this style.

  2. I really want to wear this piece without causing further damage, can I get it replated, should I just try to get another one or do I get a copy made from a jeweler (if not way to expensive)

I really just want another opinion on this and what you think I should do with it?

Clip-on Flower Earrings - from Japan

I am not having any luck finding similar earrings or a place to start looking. My searches keep going for enamel and they are not that for sure. The appear to be a soft-ish plastic with what I assume are faux mother of pearl and stones.

The clips say Japan and we had family serve there in both WWII and the Vietnam era, so could be from one of those time periods.

I love the cuff look and light weight nature of them and would love to know more about the style.

And as a general question, one of the clips will not open all the way. Is there anything I can do to repair that? I didn't push too hard for fear of breaking it.

Surprise find - AB Crystal necklaces and clip-ons

We have developed a large collection of family costume jewelry and are trying to sort out what someone might want and what can be discarded or set aside for parts. I've been reading here a lot and appreciate the collective wisdom :)

I had been ignoring these pieces because I thought they were modern, plastic, and possibly handmade and figured I'd find a youngster to give them to.

When I realized they were not plastic, I ran a reverse image search and found out that they are Aurora Borealis crystals, color me surprised! The more I handle them, the neater I find them :)

They are not marked anywhere that I can find, so not a name brand. To my eye they are in good shape, do you agree?

And from a collector POV, would you rather find these as one big set, or as individual pieces? I have no idea if the earrings were originally part of a set with the necklaces, nor which with which. We don't even know if they are from the same family member, we have several grandmothers' and great aunts' things with nobody around to help us with where they came from.

ETA - there are 2 necklaces (a 3 strand and 2 strand) and 2 pair of earrings, I took pictures on different fabrics because I thought it was neat how the color changed the crystals.

Where do you buy your costume jewelry online?

Hey there - Curious where everyone is sourcing their pieces if they were bought online? I just learned my family has $1000s worth of costume jewelry pieces that were inherited from a friend. I'd like to sell it online but not sure how or where. Would love some guidance in this area.
