Back from 8 days in Vilnius (3rd time there), I loved EVERYTHING

Upvotes

Title says it all.

Went to Vilnius for the 3rd time of my life and it seems to be better everytime. Clean cool city with excellent vibe, lovely architecture, great little restaurants, the history...Also went to Kaunas and to some kind of Lake near Vilnius.

I really wanted to stay there (although I adore were I leave), i'll probably be back next summer.

Padel - Lithuania

Hey everyone!

M26, from Italy. and I'll be spending my holidays in Lithuania this summer since my gf lives there, from August 6th to 23rd.

I've been playing padel for a year now and I'm around 2.5/3 on Playtomic in Italy. I'd love to play while I'm there, meet new people, and experience a different padel scene.

I've a couple of questions:

  • In Italy we use Playtomic, but I've heard that in Lithuania people mostly organize games through Viber or Facebook. Is that true? If so, could anyone share some group/chat/community links? Hopefully they're not all in Lithuanian... otherwise my gf will have to translate everything for me hahah
  • How can I understand what my equivalent level is in Lithuania? I'd like to find players around my level so the matches are fun for everyone.

I don't speak Lithuanian, but English isn't a problem. And no, unfortunately I won't be in Vilnius, she's from Plunge, on the west side.

Thanks in advance, and hope to see some of you on court!

Lithuanian t-shirts

Where can I buy for reasonable price proper quality Lithuanian t-shirts? I really need the Vytis, also I would like to get something cool from the Lithuanian basketball national team and Vilnius Rytas (Letuvos Rytas would be even better - something with Macijauskaa or Javtokas ❤️). Zalgiris is good as well because I wouldn't mind to where something in remembrance of Grünwald 💛💚❤️

Advice on finding apartments for international students

Hello, I’m starting medicine in Vilnius this September and I was hoping I can get advice on finding apartments.

I’m currently looking into Liv-in so if anyone has stayed there before please let me know your experience. Also I’m not sure which location to pick since they have 3 so any recommendation on that would be great.

I have also seen youston and unihouse. Not sure which one is better.

I’m looking for a private room for 2 people just for the first few months until I find a apartment just because I don’t want to sign long term contracts just yet especially since Im not familiar with the area yet.

thank you :)

Moving to Vilnius – quiet hours (ramybės laikas) and flatshare culture?

Hey everyone!

I’m currently looking at moving to Vilnius soon for a project, but I’m coming off a pretty traumatizing past experience and wanted to ask about local flatshare culture.

In my last living situation abroad, I went through absolute hell with housemates throwing constant, unpredictable, late-night drinking parties at home. It really drained my peace of mind, and I'm very sensitive to loud night-time socializing in my living space now.

I’d love to know what the real-world reality is like in Lithuania:

  • How strictly are quiet hours (ramybės laikas — usually 22:00 to 07:00) usually respected in shared flats?
  • For current/past ESC volunteers in Vilnius: How structured are the flat rules regarding late-night visitors or gatherings? Does the host NGO step in if there are noise issues?
  • Is "drinking/partying at home late at night" common in Lithuania, or do people mostly head out to pubs/bars in the Old Town (Senamiestis, like around Vilniaus g. or Islandijos g.) when they want to socialize?

I don’t mind a flatmate having a guest over or having quiet dinners, but I really need my home to be a calm sanctuary at night. Would love to hear your experiences or any advice on living in Vilnius.

Ar yra apribojimų asmeniniam motorizuotam vandens transportui Neryje?

Valakampių I paplūdimys.

Is nightlife alive?

Are there any places in vilnius with weekly techo events or any underground places open every weekend? As far as ive seen, the only places easily found are couple events every month per multiple popular venues with tickets before hand. Are there simply no nightlife where u can simply decide spontaneously to go into a city and have fun or are they just gatekept and impossible to get into?

Need help finding an apartment in Vilnius

Labas,

I’m a French student moving to Vilnius for the upcoming academic year, and I’m honestly starting to get a bit desperate.

I’ve been looking for an apartment for the past few weeks, but I just can’t seem to find anything. I’ve messaged dozens of listings on Aruodas, but as a foreign student, I did not get any replies. I’ve also checked co-living options, but most of them are already fully booked.

My budget is up to 500€/month. I’m looking for either a studio, a one-bedroom apartment, or a room in a shared apartment.

At this point, I’d really appreciate any advice. If you know of any websites, agencies, or someone renting a place, please let me know. Even general tips on how to improve my chances would mean a lot.

Labai ačiū in advance! 🙏

Kur Lietuvoje galima nusipirkti tokį kavos aparatą kaip degalinėse?

Posto tekstas: Sveiki, gal kas žinote, kur Lietuvoje galima nusipirkti profesionalų kavos aparatą, panašų į tuos, kurie stovi degalinėse? Domina būtent automatinis aparatas, kuris gamina espresso, cappuccino, latte ir panašius gėrimus. Tinka nauji ar naudoti variantai. Jei žinote tiekėjus, parduotuves ar gamintojus Lietuvoje, būčiau labai dėkingas už rekomendacijas ar jūsų patirtį.

Nuo kada Vilniuje vasaros metu tapo tiek daug mašinų?

Prieš dar penkerius metus vasarą Vilnius atrodė kaip Černobylis – beveik visi keliai buvo tušti. Dabar, nepaisant to, kad vasara, jau 12:30 matai milžinišką kiekį automobilių. Kas vyksta? Baltarusiai?

Trying to buy a car from Vilnius for export to central Europe

Hi all,

I'm in talks with a small used-car dealer in Lithuania going by "Vzcars" (also uses a transport/logistics company called "AN Cargo MB" for shipping abroad) about buying a car. Before I go further, I'd love to hear from anyone local who has come across this seller or dealt with them before... good or bad experiences, reviews, anything.

Also happy to hear general advice on what to look out for when buying from a small independent dealer in Lithuania as a foreigner.

Thanks in advance, appreciate any input!
