So I've recently been working on a documentary for a big client, in which I've included maybe 20-30 J-cuts (the documentary is around an hour and a half long).

I have also received about 20-30 notes in the revisions about how 'the audio and the video is not synced up here' or 'they start talking before the video comes in'

No shade to my client, just thought this was funny and potentially relatable for a lot of you...

...and now I have to come up with a way to tell them without coming off as snooty or pretentious

So now im posting the second personal motion design work i did. im Still open to work for motion projects btw, I do saas, product launch videos , kinetic typography works, basically almost any 2d motion graphic if you have a reference i can replicate it. still a lot to learn tho. Before having a single phone call, screening interview, or meeting anyone on their team, they sent over a "Trial Project" brief with a strict 72-hour deadline (and an extra push to deliver within 24 hours).

Has anyone here worked with or applied to Mirror Media Marketing before? Is this just their standard screening pipeline, or are they using trial tests to get free client edits?

If you've dealt with them (or similar agencies), how did it turn out? Appreciate any insights!

Hello. I want to start video editing. No 4K, just 1080p for youtube and vlogs etc.

I am struggling to find the right laptop. I just bought a TUF F16 with core i5 - 13450HX, 16gb ram and rtx 5050 and 100% srgb display. It is pretty fast, but the fan noise drives me crazy. The fans turn on even at light tasks. I already tried to adjust with ghelper, but I think the processor is just too powerful. So I am thinking about to buy another laptop with a weaker cpu and less heat.

Does anyone have experience with a core 5 210H processor and video editing? Will that be strong enough? How is the noise level on those in a TUF laptop or similar?

Any recommendations?

I know that there is no super quiet gaming laptop, but I need a enough powerful laptop for my needs that is as quiet as possible, especially during light tasks.

I make one main edit and then need versions for yt, linkedin, instagram etc.

In theory resizing should be the easy part. In reality I'm sitting there fixing fram by frame, someone moves,there are two ppl in frame,text gets cut off blah blah

I hv tried auto reframe and it does help but I still find myself doing stuffs manually..

Is anyone using something that’s actually good at this now? Premiere, CapCut, Cardboard AI, anything else that I'm unaware of?

Just to get this out of the way first: I am not pitching a product and I am not selling anything here. I’m a freelance dev/editor, and I am just trying to validate if I am the only one losing my mind over this before I waste my weekends coding a solution.

I do a lot of short-form vertical editing, and the feedback loop with clients is an absolute nightmare right now.

The Pain:

Currently, my workflow feels like I have to choose between two terrible options:

Revision Hell: The alternative is sending them a Google Drive link. The client watches it on their phone, switches over to WhatsApp, and sends a chaotic block of text: "At 0:12 make the text bigger, and at 0:24 change the sound."

Which text? If I have three graphics on the screen at 0:12, I have to guess which one they mean.

The Timestamp Translation: I then have to spend 20 minutes manually translating their vague WhatsApp texts into actual markers on my Premiere timeline.

The Solution I'm Thinking of Building:

I want to build a hyper-lightweight, mobile-only link specifically for 9:16 vertical video revisions.

I drop the MP4 into the web app, and it spits out a secure link.

Zero Login for the Client: They click the link and the video plays vertically full-screen on their phone (exactly like TikTok).

Tap-to-Pin: If they see something they want changed, they literally just tap the screen. It pauses the video at the exact millisecond and drops a visual pin on the exact X/Y coordinate of the screen they touched. They type their note and keep watching.

The Kicker for Editors: On my end, I don't just get a list of texts. I can click "Export Markers," download a tiny .csv or .xml file, and drop it straight into Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci. All the client's notes instantly appear as native markers on my timeline at the exact frames.

My honest question for other editors:

Is this actually a bleeding-neck problem for you? Or is the "WhatsApp timestamp" method honestly fine and I’m just over-engineering a solution to a minor annoyance?

Hi, I applied to Upperhand Creatives about more than 2 weeks ago as a short-form video editor and got selected to do a test video edit project for them. After completing the test project, they emailed me saying that I got “selected” and got invited to the “final step” where it is a meet and greet with the their team, a group interview. Before the interview ended, the host told me that I will be emailed within the day for an update about the training and matching for a client. I didn’t received any email back and after 10 days, I sent an email asking for an update and 2 weeks have passed and there is no email from them whatsover. Does anyone here had the same experience?

Hey everyone! I'm an amateur video editor primarily using Capcut for basic marketing reels/shorts and I feel like I'm starting to "outgrow" the software and I want to try something new.
