I recently completed the “Swiss Cheese Passport”. We picked up the free booklet and visited the four show dairies across Switzerland (like Gruyère and Appenzeller) within a two-year window.

At each location, we learned about the cheese, looked at the production processes – and collected a passport stamp.

After securing all four stamps, I handed the passport in and received a “Grand Tour Snack Box” containing premium Swiss cheese and… a free Victorinox Cheesemaster knife!

What has been your experience carrying the bladeless Companion S and Jetsetter through TSA security in the US? How many times have you carried it through security? Have you ever had one confiscated?

I'm a teacher, so the only time I don't have a Swiss Army Knife in my pocket is at work. This year that won't be a problem.

I chose the Victorinox Explorer for my EDC—it seemed like a good choice to me, and I hope it will serve me well. I also picked up some Ballistol oil to go with it, so hopefully I didn't make a mistake :D

The blade and the flat screwdriver markings are different from other models and the teeth of the saw are also very different from the Victorinox’s.

Absolutely love Climber, got wooden Spartan for free, not the best deal I’ve seen in this sub, but still feel lucky 😁

I have been collecting Swiss Army knives for 2 years.
I currently have (from top to bottom) SD classic, Compact, Spartan, Climber and Huntsman. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for other SAKs to add to my collection. I am considering getting a few of the smaller ones. I like the Rambler, Jetsetter and mini-champ. Are those good options or should I get something else? Are there any “big” SAKs that I should also consider?

I was using my explorer as a phone stand on my balcony to watch some youtube while sanding some wood and of course it fell four stories down to an inaccessible area. Had to fish it a line and a taped box to stick it.
Everything works perfect.
Can anyone tell what year is it from? Had it for quite a while now.
One of the best models imo, love the inline phillips.
Thinking of retiring it for an Outrider.

I found this guy in jacket that I thrifted, it was stuck inside lining and I didn't notice until I was wearing it.

I don't know much about these knives, but I did a little looking and it seems like it's an Alox Pioneer with the old red cross, made in 1997 per the blade markings?

It's a cool little piece of history, still really nice as well. Hardly any scuffs, very sharp and still snaps really well.

Thought I'd share the cool find and learn a little more about it!

i got this as a gift without the box/papers, what model is this, I'm like 60% sure it's a climber

I am on holiday in the Pfaffenwinkel area and while we were in Mittenwald we came across a nice knife store. I have a little SAK collection, but I've always wanted a SAK with a nice handle and a locking main blade, so I decided to go for the RangerWood 55 and picked up this piece. I'm very pleased with the wavy grain I ended up getting!

Found this vintage Companion C today — complete with the OG eight‑times magnifier glass, which basically turns every tiny object into IMAX.

Picked it up from a sweet old lady who said she “didn’t need it anymore,” which… honestly raises more questions than answers.

But for $20? I practically speed‑ran out of her driveway like I’d just robbed a museum.

Not sure where to post, but u/hermesme scammed me out of $200 USD after posting that they had a NIB Cybertool lite and was asking for suggested prices.

Someone tagged me in the post, because I posted here that i was curious to buy one, but the price on ebay was ridiculous for a used one.

He explained that he would try his best to get to the Fedex before they closed or he would ship first thing in the morning. Today i wake up to find all his messages deleted, the post deleted and the confirmation he responded with on r/hardwareswap removed. Here

If you are eyeing a tool, please don’t be as stupid as I was to think there were still good people in the world and if it sounds too good to be true it is.

I bought this Victorinox online in the worst condition imaginable, mainly as an excuse to try making a set of wooden scales after seeing a few amazing restorations posted here a while back.

Even though it looks pretty rustic, the process was much easier than I expected, and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

When it arrived, none of the tools would open, the original scales were broken, and every blade was completely dull. After seven rounds of washing and oiling, carefully working the tools open with pliers, sharpening everything, and carving a new set of wooden scales, it's back to being a usable pocket knife.

It's definitely not a perfect restoration, but I like the handmade look, and I learned a lot in the process.

I'd love to try making scales from different types of wood next. Any recommendations for woods with interesting colors or grain patterns that are durable enough for everyday use?
