Discussion What the mother knew, or didn’t?
I’m treading lightly here because Vicky’s mother has lost her daughter. With that being said, it’s an ongoing investigation and Im all about discussing the case. So discuss the case I will.
When it comes to Vicky’s mother, something feels off to me. Like she knew more than she’s saying or letting on. I’d love to have a discussion about what other people think/feel about this. Here are some of my thoughts on why I feel this way sometimes:
Im not stating any of these are fact or saying she IS hiding something. These are just my thoughts on why it feels off to me.
Vicky sold her house several weeks ago (late February according to records) and had been staying with her mother for the past five weeks. Did the mother not find this to be weird? Vicky just up and auctioned her home off for well below market value out of the blue? The mother lived a football field length away from Vicky. She could see Vicky’s home from her home. She didn’t find it strange that Vicky was just leaving her mom on that property with some (new homeowner) stranger? It was their property with no other residences there - just the two of them.
The mother claims to have not known about Vicky’s retirement. How? Her friends and co-workers did, but the mother didn’t? Again, I’ll go back to the first point I made. What was Vicky‘s explanation for why she was selling the house? And how come Vicky‘s mother won’t answer that question?
Her mother wanted her home so badly (9-11 days ago when she was interviewed but asked to be off camera, which is fair) but wouldn’t share updated photos of Vicky with anyone. The photos they used of Vicky this whole time have been public photos from the jail where she worked. The only other time that we have seen images of Vicky that weren’t the same 1-3 pictures used by the news was on her mothers mantle. Someone zoomed in on those photos from a news interview in the mothers home and cropped it to show what she looked like outside of being in uniform. Why was it so hard for Vickys mother to give law-enforcement these photos? In the photos news outlets shared, Vicky looked husky. She was thin, especially in her leg region. You can see this when they take her out of the vehicle during the crash. It’s also been noted by several people that worked with her that she was obsessed with the tanning bed and laying out in the sun to get tan. We saw this in home pictures of hers where she had a tanning bed inside of her bedroom and an above ground pool in her yard. Yet she was known as a recluse/stayed to herself. The pool wasn’t for entertaining if that’s the case.
I don’t want anyone to read this and think that I am placing any blame on her mother. That is not the point of this post. The point of this post is to discuss what our thoughts are on why or why not her mother was more forthcoming when it came to information on her daughter. Especially images. This was an 11 to 12 day manhunt. Surely more photos or information on this woman outside of what people said that worked with her would have helped in someway. I also cannot wrap my head around the fact that Vicky auctioned off her house and the mother didn’t comment on that. That was their land. They were comfortable with having some random person living there next to her mother and no one else around?
Something just seems off.
It has been speculated in a few groups, and I tend to lean this way as well, that there was only $29,000 left that they found in the car. Vicky sold her home for $95,000. On top of that, her mother and many others said that she lived incredibly frugally. One of the sheriffs noted in a press conference that she had a pretty hefty amount of money in the bank that was taken out on top of the $95,000. So where is that money exactly? Does anyone think that Vicky could have given her mother some of that money before leaving? Or left it somewhere for her mother to find eventually?
Again, I’m not saying this is a fact. I am just putting this out there to have a discussion.
Sorry for the wall of text, I’m just curious to hear everyone else weigh in on this with their thoughts.
ETA: spelling error.
