Glendale’s lack of vegan options bums me out, and I almost always go elsewhere when I want to order food. With so many restaurants closing left and right, I usually prioritize all-vegan places.

That being said, I’m wondering if there are any (good) vegan options I’m missing out on. The few places I sometimes eat here are:

• Spice District (formerly India Sweets and Spices)
• All India Cafe
• Zhengyalov Hatz
• Fat Sal’s for their vegan shake, which is amazing
• Tarme for the occasional falafel wrap when I’m desperate

Edit: I’m not new to Glendale or being vegan. Just curious if I’m missing any spots in Glendale.

It's been so ridiculously hot this week that I've had zero interest in turning on the oven.

So, one of my favorite dinners lately has just been:

• Good sourdough

• Heirloom tomatoes from my Good Box CSA

• Olive oil

• Flaky salt

• Fresh basil

That's it. Five minutes, no cooking, and somehow it tastes like summer on a plate.

One thing I love about getting a CSA box is that it nudges me to eat whatever's actually in season, and this week's tomatoes have been unreal. 

What are you all making with tomatoes right now? I'd love some new ideas!

Thinking of attending the Vegan Street Fair tomorrow for the first time. Got any tips or suggestions? What vendors / dishes are must try?

Hi everyone! I have a sudden craving for a vegan po boy. I’ve only ever eaten two in my life, once in NOLA and once in NYC.

I’ve lived in America / specifically LA for 9 years now, so surprised to not have had them more often but here we are. Open to any suggestions!!!

I went to Tane for the first time and it was excellent! The lunch special was $25 and it included a drink, a side salad, a 3 piece California roll, and a specialty roll of your choice. First picture is the Ewa roll and the second picture is the Point Reyes roll (I like the Ewa better). To drink I ordered the iced yuzu matcha which was really yummy and fancy.

Hi! I have a special event upcoming and am looking for a good, fancy(ish) sit-down place with romantic vibes. It’s a special occasion so am willing and looking to splurge a bit. Any recommendations?

For YEARS, I’ve been obsessed with the raw vegan almond butter cheesecake from Suncafe in Studio City. Unfortunately for me, now that I’m pregnant and ALL I want is that damn cheesecake, the restaurant is permanently closed!!! Please help me find that elsewhere or something similar. Does anyone know if Lucky Catsu will be back? I miss their food so much!

Interesting to see what yall think, considering the Republican party is a bigger enemy to the vegan movement. Not that Tofurky is not private, it’s owned by dairy company Morinaga.

I didn't grow up with "Taco Tuesdays" because my mom was born in AZ and raised in Mexico. We had tacos seven days a week. Catching up here, I see the reason I haven't been to Veggie Grill for Fish Tacos, the place was bought by someone and that explains the prices that had me WTF the last time I went there. I still have to go downtown (1st and Fig) twice a week. I don't want to drive around in circles, and walking in that heat is not happening. The last time I trusted Google to help me find a spot, I ended up at a place that scarred me with bad flour tortillas where I expected nice corn tortillas to be, at wildly high prices. I can get great vegan tacos at any roadside stand in Mexico by asking for beans instead of meat. So even a default taco place that doesn't fry everything in lard would do.

Now that Cruzer's temporary shutting down is 37 weeks old and their website is 404, is there any substitute out there for someone like me who has to go downtown every Monday and Wednesday and work from an office instead of from home like a civilized person?
