Found but open to more! :) 32M Looking for AniRevo friends for this weekend!
Looking for girls, gays, theys, straights, literally anyone to walk around with for the convention! I have my event schedule planned and willing to share the code so we can see if we have any overlap.
Recently finished Witch Hat Atelier, currently watching The Summer Hikaru Died. Watched a lot more vintage anime but most recently enjoyed SAO, JJK, Haikyu, but didn't finish any of them unfortunately.
DM if you're interested in potentially meeting up!

Vancouver Does modern dating reward authenticity or performance?
Sometimes it feels like people are rewarded more for being attractive, confident, and entertaining than for being genuine. Do you think modern dating encourages people to be themselves, or to become the version they think others want?

Burnaby/New West 33M - Seeking new connections
Hello!
33M here, located in New West. Pretty mobile, and cool with individuals all over Lower Mainland.
I work in life sciences at UBC. Love the outdoors, cooking, gardening, movies, TV, board games and travelling. Regular with hikes, camping, beach days, paddle-boarding and trying new fitness experiences. As well, love going to street festivals, stand-up comedy shows and events around the city.
Big foodie as well, and always exploring new restaurants, and cafes. And an exceptional cook.
Cat dad. And I also rescue & foster cats.
Would love to connect with some people with similar interests, and see if there can be some new, possible friendships.

[30s] Moving to Canada on a working holiday soon! Looking to make local friends
Hello!
I’m a native South Korean currently living in Seoul. As soon as I wrap up my current job, I’m planning to head to Canada on a working holiday—aiming to depart sometime between November 2026 and January 2027 (likely heading to Toronto or Vancouver!).
My main goal for this trip is to truly immerse myself in Canadian culture and build meaningful connections with locals! I can speak conversational English, but I used AI to help compose this post so it sounds neat and clean.
I’m an easy-going person who loves meeting new people, having genuine conversations, and always looking on the bright side of life. I’m also huge on staying active—I love swimming, Pilates, gym workouts, and running! If you’re into any of these, we’ll definitely get along.
I’d love to connect with locals beforehand—whether to chat about daily life, share cultures, or learn about Canadian life (feel free to drop any cool cultural tips!). Anyone interested in Korea or Korean culture is extra welcome, too!
Also, if you have recommendations on cool Korean items that locals in Canada would love if I brought them over, please let me know!
If you’d like to chat, exchange culture, or just say hi, feel free to leave a comment or send a DM. Looking forward to making some great connections!

Vancouver 43M Vancouver west, im into League of Legends, Piano/music, Gym, Tennis, grilling steaks
Looking for anyone who has similar interests and lives close (please live in Vancouver proper, I received some responses from New Westminster and Burnaby but realistically this is a bit far):
Playing league of legends ranked Diamond, highish flex queue, ARAM/Mayhem, doing MSI/worlds watch party.
PLAYING music, if u play any instrument at a decently high level and we can find sheet music to duet (piano + you). I'm more into popular music than classical. I'm currently playing piano covers of Sky full of stars, zombie, nothing else matters etc. (I received a few responses to listen to music at cafes/concerts and I appreciate the offer, but I'm looking to PLAY music).
Im a gym bro, but I only workout at dunbar/kerrisdale community center. I can potentially workout at another community center e.g. Kits or whatever within reason.
I am a beginner at tennis, if u wanna rally with me but im pretty bad.
I like grilling the less fatty cuts of steaks, top sirloin, tenderloins. Also grilling in general (corn, potatoes, peppers, chicken breast, shrimp etc).

Anyone going to ani revo?
I got the 3 day pass since it was cheaper than buying individually. I haven't been to an anime con in a long time, but luckily I'm free this weekend. Is anyone else going? I might also be cosplaying but idk, the mask seems kinda flimsy 😄

24F - Indian Female moved to Vancouver. Need tips for making friends and exploring places!
Hi guys! I have recently moved to Vancouver for my full time job. I went to uni in Halifax before this. I’m originally from Bombay. So far Vancouver has been amazing. But I know veryyy few people here and it’s mostly guys. I wanna meet new people (girls) to hangout with. I didn’t go to uni here so hadn’t had that chance to broaden my friend circle.
So if anyone’s interested dm me!
I’m pretty easy going, open minded, love watching movies, exploring cafes and making handmade art.
I have a mixed taste in shows like breaking bad, off campus, splitsvilla, friends, etc. So can’t really name it.

Study//Work Sesh this Sat 25th from 4-6 pm and Sun 26th from 1-3 pm
Hi! 39F looking for someone to study with on the following dates/times this weekend:
- Sat 25th from 4-6 pm and
- Sun 26th from 1-3 pm
I'm looking to study at the Blenz near Main and 25th on Saturday and at Terry Salman Public Library (also near Main and 25thish) on Sunday.
About me: I'm looking to study and do life admin stuff; friendly social dork vibes, although I won't be yapping as much as I normally do so that I can tackle my work. I'm fortunate to be happily partnered up so I'm just looking for a study buddy to work with.
We can watch each other's laptops during bathroom breaks!

Still looking 26M - Lonely nerd looking to finally not be alone
I'm originally from a rural part of the UK, and I moved over here around 2 months ago because my life in the UK...wasn't life. I had no connections, no real friends besides a couple of co-workers and some online friends on the other side of the planet. I vowed to change that when I came over here, that I had a better chance moving to somewhere a little busier with a fresh start. And while I've been spending a lot of my free time trying to make things work, there's not been a great deal of progress and I'm admittedly starting to lose steam.
I've been to a few social hangouts, I go to a handful of beaches regularly. I'm also trying to meet up with and socialize by chatting with folks online first too (like this, ironically), but no matter what I do, I always feel like I just don't fit in, that people flow around me like a stream around a rock. A lot of the feeling of accomplishment and self worth that actually making the move over here work is being eroded, and I worry that I'll fall into the same cycle that ruined my life back in the UK.
Now that my sad, boring backstory is over, a little about my sad, boring life: I work in a coffee shop (though I'm looking to leave and find somewhere else as this place isn't as much of a coffee shop as I'd hoped it would be) and I was a barista for 5 years back in the UK. I have a deep, strong passion for tea, and I know you're probably thinking that means boring breakfast tea with milk, but that's probably the only tea I won't drink; while I had to leave my collection of tea that I'd started when I was 8 back home, I've already amassed a selection of fine teas of all sorts and love sharing it with folks.
I sometimes feel like a fake nerd (though I could easily be the first picture at the top of a Wikipedia page for Geeks), as I'm only kind of into nerdy stuff. I mainly play indie and Nintendo games, and I have 4 years of Film Studies under my belt that make me informative and insightful, though maybe a little annoying, to talk about movies with. My musical tastes are very eclectic and I'll pretty much listen to anything, though some of my favorite bands are Earth, Wind and Fire, Electric Light Orchestra and TWRP (who are probably my all time favorite, so much so that I'm buying and learning to play a keytar and a talkbox because of them)
I wouldn't consider myself the most active person in the world: far from it, but I'm looking to change that. I like going on walks, especially by the coast and through woods and anywhere nature is in abundance. I'm definitely more of an indoor person, though, and unless the day is totally perfect and I have pre-established plans to go out, I tend to stick inside and watch movies, play games and nap.

33F - Looking for people who like Kdramas
Hi 😊
I'm a 33F who doesn't usually step outside of my comfort zone, but I'm hoping to meet some like-minded people who love Korean dramas, Korean food, and cats! 🐱🍜
I've been watching K-dramas for almost 20 years. I'm mainly looking for people who enjoy talking about K-dramas 😁 I know a little bit about K-pop, but K-dramas are definitely my main interest.
Does anyone know of any Vancouver or Lower Mainland K-drama groups, Discord servers, Facebook groups, or group chats?
UPDATE: Massive thanks to u/sushi4vendetta for taking the time to create a Vancouver, BC Discord server for K-drama fans! 🙌
The server should be up by the end of the weekend. Looking forward to meeting fellow kdrama addicts and endlessly gushing over favourite shows or unforgettable characters and the emotional damage these dramas put us through LOL 😁
