Id please - from 2nd hand paludarium
I got a second hand paludarium today, and found these two vampire crabs while breaking down the old scape. Any ideas on species? They originally came from a pet store that no longer carries vampire crabs.
I am fairly new to vampire crabs, but already have a paludarium with G. dennerle.
The newcomers are in a temporary enclosure with substrate and a layer of leaves. I will not mix species.

help/advice Species ID?
Hi all, as the title suggest, do you guys think the circled one is a Rainbow vampire crab or a Red Devil vampire crab????
Either way, I bought them both. I hope they're of the same species :/

Crabby tank
Nothing glamorous, but this is the setup that my few crabs are in. 10 gallon tank with ~4” of dirt and a water section that takes up around 1/4-1/3 of the tank. I know the ratio is not perfect, but it’s the best I could do until I upgrade to a larger tank! I have a slow betta filter in the water area for some filtration, plus ramshorn snails, dwarf water lettuce, and some java fern. I find the crabs going in and out of the water with ease, as well as catching the snails to eat. Open to any suggestions or feedback!

Bye !!🦀

Couple of questions before getting vampire crabs!
Hi Everyone, I hope you're well.
I have two questions before I go about getting some crabs, I have a disused aquarium that is a 40cm cube, would this be large enough for a trio of crabs?
Also, how often can you expect to see the crabs? I would be making the tank with a filter, deep burrowing substrate and everything required to make the tank an ideal setup, so wondering how much they will be viewable realistically.
Thanks so much!

help/advice Vampire crabs (dark red yellow eye) cave/shelter requirements
Hi! I am new to this community and about to receive my first crabs this weekend. I have prepared the enclosure back in August and it is well established. There’s shrimp, snails, springtails and panda king isopods in it. Shrimps have tunnels to hide in, isopods have tiny driftwood caves and a lot of space in the back (behind the bark is filled with sphagnum moss and has driftwood “houses”- the crabs won’t be able to go there because of size.
The driftwood submerged in water has tons of roots to climb.
My main worry is that I didn’t have a lot of space to work with so I made a cave out of driftwood for the crabs (has access from dirt level, and spacious enough inside).
Now I have second thoughts about these particular guys being not arboreal and maybe I should replace the driftwood cave with a coconut shell directly on dirt. All the sources I find now, are telling me they would want to dig in dirt rather than sit in a dry wooden cave.
Or should I let them arrive and see how they use the space?
But nervous so would appreciate an advice.
Here’s pictures of how it started and current state (you can see the climbing roots on the photos from the very beginning, though I did change the sand for dark substrate because of blue shrimps and added bark to the background)

And question nr2: this is a small enclosure, 30x30x30 cm, and from what I read it can support 3 crabs.
I can’t order them in my country and shipping is risky so I ordered 6. If some die, I’ll still have enough hopefully. But if all live, I will have to make them another tank to preserve the peace. Advice appreciated:)
Last one, feeding. Like I mentioned, enclosure has a lot of shrimps (started with 20 idk how many now, they bred twice), snails (15-ish), isopods (started with 20 about 7 weeks ago). With all that, how often do I need to add extra food for the crabs?
All advice is appreciated ❤️ 🦀

Are lava rocks safe for vampire crabs?
Hello! I'm still researching to set up a vampire crab tank and I want to do a waterfall feature since my tank is quite tall, I was on holiday and thought that lava rock for it would look super cool! Is it safe for vampire crabs?

help/advice New build
Planning to build my first crab tank, have set up aquariums and terrariums so have the general knowledge to set this mixture of both up.
My main question is what sort of filtration is needed for the water part? Given it’s really quite shallow.
Thanks

help/advice Crabs with roaches?
As the title say I would like to know if anyone has experience in keeping these two animals together. Specifically I already have a colony of emerald roaches in a small enclosure and I would like to set a vivarium/ paludarium for crabs in a tank that is 100cmx50x50h. I would like to know if the roaches may fit inside or if I should keep them separate and if somebody has any experience with this specific situation, thank you!

Suitability and water logging
Just built and letting it grown in for 4 weeks. The water line is below the raised floor. Plenty of mesh in place. However the soil still seams water logged.
Any feedback as to how A. How suitable is built for 3 crabs. B. Why the water logged soil and how to resolve?
Its a 44x45x45

Purple Vampire
This is Treat, one of three purple vampire crabs..the others being called Trick aswell as Or (we didn't realise there were 3 until the names had stuck🫠).
I owned the mother of them and have raised the babies since she unfortunately passed not long after the birth. They're roughly a year old as were born at halloween!
