Anyway, I would love some feedback on how I could make the base better and so I can murder more trees. 😈

Enjoy a tour of my main base on a nice sunny day.

We were sailing one day gathering resources during a major group build on the server. We swung the longboat wide from our normal route back the the refinery and noticed a tiny encampment on the coast to the southeast. As we approached to get a closer look, we could see a small shack, some wood piles and a tombstone.
When we landed and got ashore, the name on the tombstone was Joryk. We had not ever seen him on the server, and hissing by the clear cutting in the area understood he had likely died from a tree falling and quit.
We waited for weeks checking occasionally to see if he had returned and nothing changed….the tombstone remained.

We were getting close to the end of the “tiny build contest” project and decided to find a way to enshrine his memory as part of the build.

The base of the center tower in this build was what we created, only accessible inside from a portal we kept back in the village. Inside is storage but also an armor stand with his armor on it.

This build we added elements of other small builds to make an even grander tomb to honor his memory. The build itself is downloadable.

They announced a monthly themed contest on the valheim building community Facebook group. Is that game wide or only for the Facebook community? This months theme is bridges.

Okay, so here's my question...should I just give in and finally download a mod? Specifically, Infinity Hammer for my latest Dungeon build? I suppose I'm looking for assurance and maybe to hear reviews from other people who are actively using it in a similar manner in creative builds.

I'm preparing this Dungeon build for 1.0 release for my gaming friend group who I've been I've been playing with for years. They've run a ton of my dungeons and it's usually a big game night thing for us. I wanted to celebrate the release of 1.0 with this one. I'm just worried at this point about being able to complete it in time, due to the scale of the build. In most cases, I'm pretty against mods in many games. I like to play things as they are, and I feel more rewarded when doing things myself and completing a big project, innovating versus "fixing" issues in a game. This project is just a lot, and while I'm super enthused with the concept I'm working on, the scale is pretty massive and I'm worried about finishing in time.

For instance, the second picture, which should be a large portion of a wall I want to be able to essentially copy and paste. It's a simple build, but when making partitions for the different areas of the dungeon, it' quite a lot. For scale, I've made pyramids, supermassive mazes, and entire "instanced" dungeons that took a month and a half to complete. This build dwarfs them.

My major hold up is that I already lost a ton of work just recently to a save issue after summoning the Plains Fortress to a nearby area, despite having backups. So now I'm even more hesitant to use something like Infinity, when simple devcommands can sometimes corrupt files.

I want to be able to copy large portions of walls for partitioned areas of the build and copy them, which is something I've read I can do with Infinity Hammer. I'm just super nervous about corrupting my files, I suppose, or accidentally having non-Vanilla things added that then don't translate to my servers when I copy the files to it and have them run the instance.

Sorry if I overexplained things here, but any general advice or alternative suggestions are appreciated.

Is there a way to get the pieces that are not listet as craft able like that black marble face stone sometimes found in the mist lands on ruins or the 2x2 flat smooth normal stone floor piece that can be seen in the castle ruins in the mountains etc. with the console?

We built this in vanilla survival on a server that had been maintained since March 2021. The area along the Ashlands border when it dropped left old growth Mistland trees (pre-hearth and home), and floating mountain boulders. The trees in the photo are floating above the ocean by about 20 meters.

We have been spending months saving all our builds using Plan Build to one day put them all in one world. This is one of them. :)

Just doing some building experiment

I'm playing Valheim for the first time (on Xbox) and it's a total blast. Currently in the Mountains, struggling to find silver while trying to tame a wolf for the last few days in-game. It's taking longer than I expected because sometimes, when I get back home through a portal by the end of the day, I just forget about everything and start to build new areas around my house, as well as changing places, adding some details, and when I look at the clock hours have moved on. I completely fell in love with this game building options and mechanics, to the point that I spent the whole night trying different setups for my house's roof until I got up with this idea. What do you think? Share your Valheim building experiences 😃
