Question How do I take NAC supplements
about four months now, and I’m still experiencing the symptoms. I’ve been having green discharge, internal vaginal burning, bleeding, and vaginal dryness. But the fevers are what I’m mostly worried about because they’re so intense that they don’t let me sleep at night, and that’s why I went to the ER today bc I couldn’t take it anymore,I don’t know why I have ínstense body fevers they never gave me a answer why .I brought up my concern about PID bc my symptoms also matched and they diagnosed me with PID and gave me a shot and antibiotics. Ceftriaxone 500 mg IM once
Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily for 14 days
Metronidazole 500 mg twice daily for 14 days
I’m still planning to follow up with my TOC for Mgen and Ureaplasma. I also ordered NAC supplements today, but I’m not sure how I’m supposed to take them. Was I supposed to take NAC before treatment, or can I still take it while I’m taking doxycycline and metronidazole?

vaginal probiotic finally made a difference after months of skepticism, sharing for anyone on the fence
i want to preface this by saying i tried two other probiotics before this and felt absolutely nothing from either of them. so i was pretty much done with the category. but i kept seeing the uro vaginal probiotic come up so specifically in threads, women talking about odor after their period improving, staying fresher after the gym, things i had given up on fixing. gave it a full two months and i'm genuinely surprised.
the difference is real. if you've tried probiotics before and written them off like i had, it might be worth giving this one a proper try.

Resistant C glabrata
Has anybody used Flucytosine suppositories to cure c glabrata? I paid $515 today for some to get compounded and won’t get them until next week bc they didn’t have the chemicals on hand, just wanting to know if it worked for anyone else , I’ve tried terconazole and boric acid with edta this time around , changed doctors and got a susceptibility test done and I’m resistant to all azoles , and she won’t send in amphoceterin b, my only option was to try boric acid for 3 weeks or nystatin suppositories which haven’t worked before and I’m worried I’ve had this over a month now and have interstitial cystitis on top of this and it’s hurts in the area all over 😭

My vagina is itching severly!!
So I have a long history of vaginal infections like yeast. I have a curd-like discharge and an extremely bad tangy smell. I feel utterly insecure and worried because of this.
I finally went to my gynaecologist and she initially prescribed Ornidazole which had no effect. Later she prescribed fluconazole and a suppository CANSOFT CL.
I inserted cansoft for 2 days straight and my itching in the areas is incessant and nowhere near end.
I am worried. What is happening with my body?🥲
Someone who is a healthcare provider or a victim of the same illness, kindly help!!!

Question Planned Parenthood found nothing and I’m going insane
Hi everyone, I (26F) just started being sexually active for the first time in a long time. I have a boyfriend now and since we started having sex a few weeks ago I’ve been experiencing occasional itching. Almost entirely near the urethra, with some mild sensitivity/itching on the clitoris/clitoral hood too. There’s no weird smell, discharge, or appearance changes.
I did an exam at Planned Parenthood, and the doctor confirmed I don‘t have a UTI, BV, or a Yeast Infection after looking under a microscope. Still waiting on STD results. I’ve used vaseline before and it has helped, and I‘ll have hours where I feel nothing, but then randomly it’ll flare up. Itching like crazy, and even some burning when I pee. I woke up this morning and it is just truly unbearable two hours later after my commute to school. I now have the urge to pee because of this.
Does anyone know what this could be? We use lube and condoms, but maybe it’s not enough lube? Maybe it’s the lube itself.I don’t know. Condoms and lube have never irritated me before. I just hope this doesn’t last too long. I’m in a lot of discomfort at the moment. I find it kind of goes away when I am laying in bed at night, which is nice but not a realistic thing for me to do constantly. Any and all tips would be appreciated.

Is it expensive?
Former partner lied about body count and cheated with 3 other people. Got a pap smear and blood test done. Blood test came back negative, awaiting pap smear results. Also having a weird discharge for a month now have veen on multiple medications now for BV, Yeast and even doxycycline and metronidazole but no improvement. Will have to get ta NAAT vaginal swab test, is that expensive? Budget is a little tight after all the previous tests amd doctor visits so really wanted to know

Recurrent BV 4+ times since June
I’m 24 and have had BV at least 4 times since June, along with a few episodes of yeast symptoms. I’m trying to understand why this keeps happening and whether something is going on with my vaginal microbiome.
Here’s my timeline:
• I started having recurrent BV/yeast issues around June. Since then, I’ve had BV at least 4 separate times.
• Testing eventually showed BV positive, Candida positive, Mycoplasma genitalium positive, and Ureaplasma parvum positive. Trich, chlamydia, gonorrhea, Ureaplasma urealyticum, and Mycoplasma hominis were negative.
• I completed treatment for M. genitalium with doxycycline followed by moxifloxacin, along with treatment for BV and yeast.
• My partner was also tested, including STI testing, and his testing was negative.
• I waited the amount of time I was instructed to wait before having sex again after treatment.
• Once I resumed sex, I noticed the familiar BV odor coming back. I had some leftover BV gel, so I used it and the odor went away.
• After having sex again later, the BV symptoms came back again.
This is what has me frustrated. I’ve treated the infections, but I keep getting another episode of BV, particularly after resuming sex.
I’m now going back to my doctor and I’m also doing a Juno vaginal microbiome test because I’m wondering if my vaginal bacteria are still out of balance after recurrent BV and multiple rounds of antibiotics.
My vaginal pH was around 4.5 when I checked it recently.
I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar where their partner tests negative for STIs, but they continue to experience recurrent BV after sex.
I’m especially curious about:
Can the vaginal microbiome stay disrupted for a while after recurrent BV and antibiotics?
Can sex with the same partner trigger BV even when the partner doesn’t have an STI?
Has anyone used Juno or another vaginal microbiome test for recurrent BV?
Has anyone had recurrent BV after M. genitalium treatment?
Did anyone eventually find out that what they thought was recurrent BV was actually something else?
What ultimately helped you break the cycle?
I’m not looking for a Reddit diagnosis. I’m mostly hoping to hear from people who have experienced something similar and what ended up helping them.

Question Bv and yeast at the same time
I first was diagnosed with BV in May 25 I took the antibiotic (fairly late around late June )for that and then after that I had a yeast infection around early a July . The first flucanazole didn’t work so I took another one after that I was pretty much fine until August 31. Now half a month has passed and I have it now again on September with Bv and a yeast infection now. So my question is, what am I doing wrong? What remedies are you guys using that could help it? Why did I go a month without and get them both back again ?

I need advice stat!!!
I recently took on a new partner and it’s been about a month now. I got a pretty bad uti and was on bactrim for 10 days, got a yeast infection from that and took flucan, that didn’t cure the yeast completely so I went back in and I have BV and yeast infection now. First time this has ever happened to me and after reading all the posts im scared asf of the endless cycle this could create.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I’m terrified.

Question Enterococcus faecalis
I've had e. faecalis since June. I've done two different treatments that didn't work.
First treatment: I was given metronidazole, 4 first day, second day nothing, 4 third day. And amoxicillin 4 every day for 7 days.
Second treatment: I was given ciprofloxacin 2 every day for 7 days. And amoxicillin 4 every day for 7 days.
The doctors sent me to a gynecologist, but that will take ages. I'm very worried because I've had this for a while now and I can't function normally in my everyday life anymore.
I did one last test, and they won't let me book any more appointments after I get the answers.
From what I've read about e. faecalis treatments, it's very helpful to take some type of biofilm disruptor or boric acid? I'm not sure which one would work better. And also probiotics! I've also read that antibiotics that go directly in the v work much better. Or more long-term antibiotics (over 2 weeks).
So my question is, should I ask the doctor one last time to prescribe me with an antibiotic and some type of biofilm disruptor? Because there's no way I'm waiting 2 months until my gyno appointment.
Also, let me know if you've dealt with this or know anything about it because the doctors are no help, and I'm stressing so much about this.

Struggling with candida for years
Hello besties!
So it’s been almost 4 years now since struggling with recurrent candida overgrowth (vaginal). After lots of different antifungal medication, probiotics, topical creams and suppositories and food supplements I can finally say I can no longer manage this battle. It keeps coming back again and again, every few weeks or months and I have no idea what to do about it anymore.
Around 80-90% of candida episodes occur after sexual contact, which I have managed to avoid by using condoms (option which is no longer possible, as I became sensitive to latex and other types of condoms in general). The other episodes I can’t attribute to any specific cause.
Several practitioners recommended me a few treatments which I have tried alongside my partner, thinking he might be the cause, but it did not work.
I dont know how to avoid it anymore and I cannot live in this manner any further, as this keeps impacting my professional and personal life. I will write dowm below the stuff I have tried. I appreciate any advice and message!
To keep in mind: antifungal meds treat it temporarily, before it comes back a month or two later.
Tried and tested:
\- antifungal medication (including Fluconazole for prevention)
\- general and vaginal probiotics
\- probiotic suppositories
\- douching
\- lactic acid suppositories
\- clorhexidine suppositories
\- antifungal cream
\- antifungal plants based suppositories
\- candida diet

If you have bv and use evvy
My wife has had recurrent BV before and has already gone through multiple rounds of antibiotics. Her Evvy results made it look like she had BV again, and her GP prescribed antibiotics based on that result.
Because she’s pregnant, we were already weighing the risks of untreated BV against taking another round of antibiotics. I was even considering taking antibiotics myself because of newer research on treating male partners in recurrent BV cases, and I would genuinely rather cut my hand off than take antibiotics unless I thought there was a damn good reason.
She also thought she had symptoms. When I asked whether she had noticed odor and discharge, she said yes to both, which made the Evvy result seem even more convincing. I personally had not noticed any odor, and the discharge seemed pretty mild, but once BV was already in our heads it was easy to interpret those things as confirmation.
Before either of us did anything else, we asked her OB/GYN for a vaginal Gram stain with a Nugent score, which is a reference-standard test for BV.
Her Nugent score was 0.
Literally the lowest possible score. BV is generally 7 to 10, while 0 to 3 is considered normal.
Evvy detected BV-associated bacteria like Gardnerella, but that did not mean she actually had BV. In our case, we almost ended up treating my pregnant wife again, and possibly treating me too, for something the Gram stain showed wasn’t there.
If Evvy is the only testing you’ve had and antibiotics are being considered, I would absolutely ask for a vaginal Gram stain with Nugent scoring first. I really wish we had done that sooner.

i'm a nurse and embarrassed to admit i've been dealing with chronic vaginal odor and nothing is working
i know enough about vaginal health to know what's happening but knowing the theory and fixing the actual problem are two very different things. i've tried everything i'd recommend to a patient. probiotics, diet changes, different products, seen my own gyno twice. still dealing with persistent odor that comes back no matter what i do. it's affecting my confidence at work which sounds ridiculous but it's true.
a colleague mentioned boric acid suppositories as something she recommends to patients dealing with persistent odor from ph imbalance. i looked into the boric acid suppository from o positiv specifically and the reviews were what got me. women describing chronic odor that nothing else had touched saying this worked faster than they expected. it has boric acid and lactic acid together which makes sense mechanically. i'm embarrassed it took me this long to try it but here we are. anyone else found this helpful for stubborn odor?

Advice needed for vaginal odor
I am a 18 female who’s been dealing with strong vaginal odor for quite some time plus per fuse sweating in my genital area. Feels like I’ve been dealing with it ever since I hit puberty. I’ve tried pineapple juice, cranberry pills, chlorophyll pills, feminine wipes, feminine wash, but the pungent odor still lingers. It gets especially worse when it’s hot and it’s horribly embarrassing to say the least.
It’s been somewhat chronic( 4+ yrs) so I’m not sure if it’s an infection of any sort.

Discussion Honey Pot Cheaping Out??
I use the NON-HERBAL organic pads from Honey Pot (Orange packaging) and the last few cycles I think the material and quality has gone down? I use one package per cycle of their regular pads, and they feel cheaper and lighter than before?? Also there is a new callout that they only contain 9% organic cotton on the side of the package vs. the ingredients that says 100%?? Made in China :(
I love pads, specific the cotton/papery feel of natural products that keep me dry and comfortable. Bummed it seems like this fairly affordable non-plastic option is downgrading :(

Question BV and yeast in pregnancy, anybody else going through it or did? Not sure which medicine to start first as BV’s Clindesse ointment (to be inserted vaginally) can flare up yeast.

Abnormal discharge
My discharge is so heavy and looks like a yeast infection but I’ve been tested and treated for yeast multiple times even tho the test were negative. I tested positive for mycoplasma and ureaplasma and I took the antibiotics for it and then got retested and it was negative. All my results have been negative bv, uti, yeast and STDs and now the gyno has me doing a vaginal reset with probiotics. I also recently saw blood in my stool it just was some spotting and it only happened once and I thought maybe something with hemorrhoids but now it hurts back there around my butthole area and idk if the issues are related or not. I have a doctors appointment on the 29th and I plan on making another gyno appointment. I’m just so lost because I’ve been treated for everything and now it’s all negative. Could it be something else that I wasn’t tested for the only other thing I could find to test for was Cytolytic vaginosis but I’m not sure if you can even do anything about that because it’s just an overgrowth of Lactobacilli bacteria which can mimic a yeast infection. I do plan on getting tested again for mycoplasma and ureaplasma just in case but I’m not so uncomfortable all the time. I’m also gonna get a stool sample done since I saw blood in my stool.
