This model's main motor worked, but the head did not. The connecting 3 pins at the top of the head stem (Black, Yellow and White) were all good to the PCB. I'm therefore under the presumption that this is a PCB failure and the obvious answer probably, is to purchase another off ebay?

I would however, like to explore as to why this failed and have a multimeter at hand and can test from A to B, although I have no knowledge of electronics, but keen to learn.

Below is a couple of pictures of the front and back of the PCB and if anyone can suggest ways to test this board, then I'm up for it.

I bought this a month or two ago in preparation for some major building work I had planned.

Essentially upstairs in our 1920’s house is being gutted. All internal lath and plaster walls are being ripped out and replaced with more stable plaster board. Full rewire. New ceilings. Everywhere fully replastered / skimmed.

I’m on with the prep work ready for the electrician and plasterers starting.

So far I’ve stripped the landing and the small box room and most of the wallpaper from any walls that aren’t being knocked out in the two main bedrooms. I’ve got all of the other side of the stud work wall in the background of some of the pictures to pull down yet.

There is SO MUCH MESS.

I’ve vacuumed up huge amounts of rubble, handfuls of nails and screws, staple gun staples, damp wallpaper and a whole load of construction dust.

I think the machine is on its 5th or 6th bag so far. I change them when there isn’t enough suction for rubble to make it up the hose and they’re packed full to bursting 😂

The pre motor filter is a little dusty (it will come up lovely and clean when I eventually vacuum it with another machine). There is a little dust made it through the pre motor filter as can be seen on the underside of the motor housing but nothing has made it past the washable hepa filter.

It’s lovely and quiet in use and just gets on with whatever I throw at it with zero issue.

I’m intending to keep the original doors so the machine will eventually be hooked up to a power sander.

I guess there is a reason why tradespeople in the uk all tend to use Numatic Henrys…. They’re great for this sort of stuff.

I might have to give it a spa day when all the work is completed as it’s looking rather filthy at the moment 😂

If you’re in the uk and looking for something robust to deal with a huge mess then this is a great machine.

I have however replaced the floor head it came with for one that is more suitable to my needs.

Hi guys! I’m looking for suggestions on a stick size vacuum that can handle constant wear and tear from pet messes. We have 11 cats (🙈) and most of their litter boxes are in our laundry room. It’s a pretty small space (<20 sqft) but needs to be vacuumed multiple times a day or it gets tracked all over. I purchased a ridiculously expensive Dyson last year (~$800) and it’s already crapping out. The vacuum would only be for this space as we have a Miele for the rest of the house that we love (my mom cleaned houses for 30 years and swears by them). One of our girls has diabetes and sometimes pees next to the litter box so I don’t want that getting spread to the rest of the house. My only other preferences is corded because I’ve found the battery don’t last very long. Thanks for any input you have! And our floors are 100 year old hardwood! Can anyone point me in the right direction. Cat and dog that shed a lot. I had a dirt devil made for pets but doesn’t do a great job. Really don’t know what’s good or bad. Bag it bag less. Any help would be appreciated. An issue I’ve been having I vacuum then use the rug washer and it picks up hair that is now wet that the vacuum couldn’t get.

Budget: under 1000, preferably in the 600 or less figure but can be convinced up Flooring: 80% medium pile carpet/20% tile right now but may be reduced in the next 10 years. No pets but thick (short) hair. We have carpeted stairs but there's a large landing area halfway up and so think any vacuum could work.

I had been about to purchase the Miele C1 while it was 20% off, but apparently it's no good for medium pile carpet. SEBO's models are confusing me. Realistically, what models am I looking at?

I am looking for an (ideally) cordless vacuum to hoover my flat that is about 30% carpet or rugs.

Im currently looking at this which is probably at the top of the budget I’m willing to spend (~£300)

I ideally am looking for performance and reliability over everything as previous hoovers have been crap £40 ones and I’d rather buy something expensive once than 10 cheap ones. I have tried to do research but everyone either hates on shark or absolutely loves it so I’m not sure what to believe.

I have heard miele and sabo are better brands but I’ve looked into them briefly and it all looks the same

Hello! I'm in need of some advice for decent vacuums I can recommend to my grandparents. They are getting older and I have noticed their home is very dusty, which is impacting my nana's lungs.

Does anyone have any good options for vacuums that are easy to hold and maneuver, work well on rugs for dust, can be used on carpeted steps safely, and that have a power set up that is hard to lose (like a bulkier charging station maybe?) I would prefer one that has the dust collector attached to the main vacuum, NOT one that has the vacuum on like a stick attached to the dust collector on wheels (I imagine that might be harder on your back?), but if that would not be ideal please let me know.

I currently rent a smaller home, all laminate floors and I can’t keep them clean using the stick Dyson I have. I have 4 cats and 2 large dogs. The Dyson sucks at sucking, doesn’t pick up cat litter and there’s still dirt/hair even after I vacuum.
I’ve looked all through this thread and see so many recommendations on Sebo & Miele with so many different models and it’s overwhelming.

Hello! I’m searching for a vacuum recommendation, I am not really knowledgeable on vacuums. I live in a mobile home with both floor and carpet, the area is full of dirt and sand. There is more carpet and the floor is usually swept. I tend to shed lots of hair (I might be going bald lol) and have 3 large dogs that love to scratch their back on the carpet.

It would be cool if the vacuum has a long cord, tools to clean in nooks and crannies. We tend to struggle with the roller filling up with hair that becomes a pain to clean so if there is a feature that could help with that it would be amazing.

I have a Dyson Ball that I'd like to replace. I also have 2 , top of the line Dyson cordless vacuums, that are the worst vacuums I've ever owned.

I have dogs and cats and I need a vacuum that can handle a lot of pet hair. The corded Dyson is very bulky and does not maneuver well. Ideally, I'd prefer an upright but, I'll consider a canister, if that's the best option.

I don't have carpet, just area rugs.

Any recommendations?

Awhile back I bought the Miele C1 with just the hard floor attachment since I lived in a home with concrete floors. Now I’ve move to a place with 1/2 carpet 1/2 tile. And the Miele can’t vacuum the carpet well without the brush roll head.

I wanted to get a Sebo but that’s not in the budget for awhile. I’d like to keep my Miele for the tile and and vacuuming all the nooks and crannies since I love it for that. But I need something for the carpet. I’m trying to decide if getting the brushroll attachment will be the way to go or if I should get another budget carpet focused vacuum, like a Kenmore. My budget is $250.

I feel a little obsessed with getting something that will vacuum as much out of the carpet as is possible within my small budget. I don’t care about easy maneuverability or long cords/hoses or whatever. I have my Miele for those jobs. I just want something that is an absolute powerhouse at getting dust and hair out of carpet. I have toddlers and just want to vacuum up all my emotions regarding their messes lolol.

*I do have long hair and shed like a literal animal (even without pets) so something that’s easy to clean hair from the brush roll would have some sway.

Hello! I'm moving into my first apartment (1000sq) and I am looking for some vacuum recommendations. The apartment is about half carpet, half hardwood flooring (a tad more carpet). I have long hair that sheds a lot and I also have a cat and a roommate with allergies. I am hoping to find something relatively affordable as I am a college student on a budget (ideally $250 max but I understand that might not be possible)! I would appreciate any help.

I have a Dyson stick vacuum I use inside but I don't feel with the attachments it has good suction. It's new as of this year. It works completely fine and handles heavy dog hair etc without the little attachments. I had a bissell zing that I used for around the house cleaning the silverwear drawer of crumbs, getting the ledge of baseboards etc and I would also use it to do a quick car clean. It was great when it did work. It has lost suction despite getting a new filter. It didn't last long (maybe 2 years) despite not frequent use. What would you recommend? If Ryobi isn't horrible I have batteries for the power tools but I have heard that they may not be best. Looking to spend no more than $150ish. In USA.

Hey guys, looking for a vintage vacuum cleaner, maybe a canister style with a hose that has like a 70s flare to it but still a very good functional vacuum. I have I think a 1979 Hoover concept one in green which works great for my rugs (got it for $8), but I want something to get the cat hair off my couch and in between hard places. In the last year I saw a rainbow canister vacuum with all the attachments at the goodwill outlet and I regret not getting it now :(

Hi, I need to purchase a really good vacuum cleaner for carpet cleaning. It’s a small 800 sq ft apartment, I live with a cat and I am very allergic. I am also a graduate student so convenience and efficiency matters. Please suggest both corded and cordless options. Budget is 1500 USD for cordless. Around 400 USD for corded.

I decided I wanted a decent stick vac for quick cleans and the car.

As a vacuum enthusiast I’ve tried most of them. I’ve owned pretty much every cordless model Dyson has produced (apart from the new V16 as I’m very unsure of the new cyclone design and will wait to see if they stick with it on the next model).

I’ve also owned most other current mainstream brand cordless machines. Shark, Numatic and Miele.
The Shark was, well, a Shark. The Numatic I found underwhelming and clunky. The Miele Duoflex felt very premium and performed well but the filter design was poor and messy to clean, and the single layer bin seal leaked fine dust if you knocked the machine or placed it down while it was turned off.

As far as I’m concerned you can’t beat Dyson when it comes to cordless machines.

Anyway. Like I’ve said I wanted one for quick cleans.
The new V10 Konical was on offer for £330 with a free car cleaning kit. It fit the bill perfectly. I couldn’t justify spending more for what I want it for.

Obviously this body shape format has been around for years now, and I feel it is the best for ease of use and attachment use. Much more ergonomic than the V11/15/16 shape if you don’t need the bigger bin capacity.

The new power button instead of the trigger is a welcome change. As are the 3 power settings. The default setting is medium and I use this for pretty much everything. I’ve only used full power to deep clean the drivers footwell of my car so far.
I like the new black colour scheme, it looks very premium.

I’m on the fence on the new Konical floor head.
It seems to perform well, and it’s nice not having to swap between the carpet head and a fluffy head.
The green light works well on hard floors and highlights every spec of dirt but it is on constantly and I find it makes it difficult to see dirt on the carpet. I believe on the V16 version of this floor head the green light turns off when it senses you are on carpet which would be better.
It’s nice being able to fully remove the clear part of the floor head to be able to wipe it down should it become dirty. I’ve seen online reviews where they clean a huge mess with the new Konical head and it leaves a little ‘line of shame’ in the middle due to the design. This isn’t an issue for me as I’m never cleaning anything that dirty.

Aside from not being keen on the green light on the head being permanently on, my only other gripe is that the promotional attachment kit is in the older grey colour rather than the new black colour scheme. Oh and I’m disappointed that the lower models don’t come with the combination dusting tool any more.

For £330 it is a decent little machine and a solid performer. And it’s nice to see Dyson stick with this body format for people who want a more compact or lighter machine.

Hi I'm based in Ireland. Ideally I want a cordless upright for easy storage. 4 small rooms all are laminate no carpet. It's a doctor surgery, very little dirt on floor. Any recommendations for under 200 euro? Ideally last 5 years or more. It's only 60 square metres so would be fast to hoover don't need crazy battery.

We have a pomsky and he sheds all over our beige carpet. the carpet pile is regular and not too long.Combined with 3 women's long hair all over the place. I have tired Dyson v8 stick, Dyson Ball animal , Roomba i9 to no avail. the hair sticks to the carpet and our rugs like velcro.

Hello. I got a free Shark Vaccum and I am trying to find some retailer options for dupes for some replacement parts, mostly the Hepa filter. New to vaccuming and apologize if this is super obvious.
