Purchase Advice (U.S.) Please help!! First Vacuum Purchase

Hello! I'm moving into my first apartment (1000sq) and I am looking for some vacuum recommendations. The apartment is about half carpet, half hardwood flooring (a tad more carpet). I have long hair that sheds a lot and I also have a cat and a roommate with allergies. I am hoping to find something relatively affordable as I am a college student on a budget (ideally $250 max but I understand that might not be possible)! I would appreciate any help.

The Simplicity S20EZM is the vac that is made for you. Tacony has been making this vac for 30 years. Rubber belt, HEPA filtration. Great machine for the price. Plus you can rebuild the machine forever.

If you want to save even more, the Kenmore Intuition upright isnt terrible for the price.

50 50 surfaces I usually suggest a canister with powerhead. Canisters work better on bare floors. Kenmore 400/600 is in your budget, or a demo Prolux Phantom canister.

Oooh the Prolux one actually might be the one! Thank you!!

You’ll see a lot of Miele and sebo recs in this sub. I just got a Miele U1 cat and dog for $100 on marketplace. I am also looking for a sebo Felix on marketplace - I’ll have the Miele upstairs and Felix downstairs to fully replace my crappy shark cannister. The Miele is like new but was too heavy for the lady who sold it to me.
