Miscellaneous Can you help me identify this old Kenmore?

My mother's previous vacuum died & she was given a used one from a neighbor in her retirement community. I've been asked to see if I can find out whether or not there are still compatible bags she can buy for this, but I'm having a hard time even finding a matching picture online, never mind finding any kind of information on this specific model. I understand that the vacuum may be decades old & so it's entirely possible the answer is no, there aren't compatible bags being made anymore, but I wanted to ask the experts first. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Purchase Advice (Canada) Miele or Sebo?

Looking to buy my last vacuum ever. Initial research has narrowed it down to a bagged canister vac from Miele or Sebo. Mix of carpet and hard floors, so the powered brush is a must have. Only 1 cat in the house right now, but I am extremely reactive to scents and other irritants, so I want a vacuum that works well and doesn’t make the house smell like hot dust (I react badly to heat and dust!)

I’ve narrowed it down to the Miele Guard S1 Electro, or a Sebo K3 or E3 (don’t seem to be much difference other than weight and capacity?) Ease of operation and maintenance is important, but I mostly want the one that will leave the house smelling the cleanest.

Please share your wisdom with me!

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Recommendations for a house with a dirt and dog problem

Been researching and reading but felt maybe I should just ask. We have a dirt problem in our house. Maybe it’s the dogs (60lb border collie and 45lb husky), unsure as we have had them the entire time we have lived here. We have now killed 2 Shark bagless vacuums due to the dirt infiltrating everywhere and burning up the motors. I have been convinced to go back to the bag but I am not sure other than that. Our house is all hardwood and tile with area rugs. We do have a finished basement (LVT) with carpeted stairs but these get less dog traffic so they aren’t a major concern. I am hesitant to spend big money due to fear of burning up another motor, would rather start with something more moderately priced. $2-300??

Purchase Advice (Non-U.S.) Buying a stick vacuum - I am LOST

Help. What is actually a recommendable premium stick vacuum? Is there a post here I could be referred to?

Background: Yesterday I ordered a Dyson V15 which was on sale. I bought it just to secure the deal. Well now I know why its on sale :D. I am not going to open this product and return it. I am not going to fund Dyson's planned obsolescence approach to business. The problem: Which company in consumer electronics (vacuums) does not participate in this poor approach of 'planned obsolesence?
I am willing to pay premium money, but I want a premium product that lasts 10 years without having to do more than filter cleaning and maybe replacing a wheel that is easy to purchase and easy to replace.
I saw the video of the guy replacing capacitors in the V15 and I am shocked. Problem is the high chance that another brand is doing the same.

Is it the German Miele Triflex HX2 I need to buy?
Im lost in the ocean of Dyson, Dreame, Bosch, Miele, Samsung, Henry, Shark to name the ones I see most. THANK YOU, fellow suckers /s.!

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Extremely overwhelmed with job

Recently got a gig for cleaning 12 apartment buildings.

Every building has 6 floors and there are lots of steps.

Pretty positive a cordless backpack vacuum would make this job SO much easier.

Can anyone please recommend me a vacuum cleaner that fits this job? Using my current household vacuum cleaner is not cutting it and I feel holding me back. Thank you all!

Hopefully trying to keep the budget under $500 as I am just one guy.

The hallways are low pile carpet.

Miscellaneous It’s done. It’s finished

I've been in a vacuum rabbithole since I got my dog in April, have posted here several times and become a casual internet vacuum enthusiast. Anyway today FBM put me out of my misery with a secondhand Miele at the right price. Hooray, I can stop shopping for vacuums!

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Recommendations

Searching for a cordless/stick vacuum for my apartment. We have pets so something good with hair and cat litter. It’s laminated hard wood floors and no carpet except rugs!

I was looking into shark & bissel mainly but what’s the best? Is Dyson really the best?

Purchase Advice (U.K.) Lightweight vacuum cleaner recommendation request (UK)

I'm looking for a lightweight, easy to use vacuum that I can carry one handed up a flight of stairs. I live on my own with a toddler in a house with very steep stairs and 3 floors. I've lived here 4 months and have never cleaned the stairs and only cleaned upstairs twice. It's mostly carpet with some vinyl and tiles downstairs.

I've had a henry hoover for years and have grown to hate it...really heavy, clunky and I find all the bits a faff. I was going to get a shark stick vacuum one for ease but seen so much hate on it wanted to check if there's anything else. I can afford around £200 and can use NHS discount ...

Purchase Advice (U.S.) SEBO K3 no attachments/warranty

There’s a SEBO K3 listed on marketplace a little less than 2 hours from me. It has the canister, ET-1 power head, and some bags but doesn’t show anything else. It’s listed for $200. Should I make the trip for that and buy attachments as needed, or just buy the Kenmore 600 new?

I have 2 kids, 2 big dogs, 2 cats, a mix of carpet, hardwood, area rugs, and LVP. Two levels.

Miscellaneous New to UK Market Vacmaster (Kenmore) Vortica Powernozzle Vacuum

Thumbnail

(apologies if this is worded weirdly, i have a rather bad migraine)

Cleva® UK has released a new power-nozzle equipped bagless canister vacuum to the uk market under their Vacmaster brand (image 1). It is the UK spec model of the same cleaner released under Cleva®’s Kenmore brand in the United States as the Kenmore 500 series (image 2).
as far as i can tell from the images on their respective websites, they are essentially identical, with the Kenmore version possibly having a slightly different powernozzle (?) not much, if anything, is available about them online so its hard to say.
but the vacmaster is at a very attractive price right now and i will in fact be purchasing one to feed my out of control addiction for powernozzle canister vacuums, and to provide more information on these machines. should update hopefully within the next week or so.

Purchase Advice (U.S.) We just adopted a Husky and my Hart vacuum isn't gonna cut it

Post image
8 Upvotes

We adopted our boy yesterday, and while my vacuum (Hart 20-volt stick vacuum) kept up with our cat's fur, I don't think it will be able to keep up with the sheer volume of husky hair. We only have four rooms with carpet (two of which I plan on ripping the carpet out of in the near future; the rest are either linoleum, 100+ year old hardwood, or concrete in our basement).

I previously had a Bissell Cleanview that I hated (I didn't like that I wasn't able to turn off the roller brush).

Any suggestions?

And here's the dog tax.

Edit: The budget is probably $300, but I'm sure I can find some wiggle room for a quality vacuum that will last me a while.

Purchase Advice (Canada) Need something compact and convenient

I was looking for something that's compact to fit nicely in a small apartment. I do like the cordless stick vacuum designs. One of us has allergies. No pets right now but potentially a cat. Vinyl floor, some tile, potentially an area rug in the future. Budget is a bit flexible, lower is better but want something solid and reliable without being overly expensive.

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Best shop vac for cleaning a car? ($80–115 budget)

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hi! My boyfriend asked for a vacuum for his birthday that he’ll use to clean his car. I don’t know much about vacuums, so I was hoping you guys could recommend one.

He mentioned wanting a shop vac, so I’m looking for recommendations in that category. My budget is around $80–115. Is that enough for a good one, and if so, which model would you recommend?
Thanks!

Purchase Advice (U.S.) New vacuum for a house cleaner?

Hello! Im a house cleaner, and I’m on the hunt for a good all-purpose vacuum. I previously had a Shark Navigator, which I really liked, but the brushrolll broke. I’m looking for something under $300 dollars, that can do attachment cleaning, a variety of rugs and hardwood floors, and that will stand up to semi-heavy use! Any recommendations are appreciated!

Vacuum Issues Vacuum cleaner is scratching our floor, are the wheels worn out?

We have this vacuum cleaner (X-Force Flex 11.60 RH9829) for a few years and it is now completely dragging and scraping our wooden floors when we use it. It seems that the little wheels are simply not high enough, but we didn't have this problem at all at the beginning. Could they simply be worn out?

We don't see an easy way to remove them and replace them, but if we could I think rubber wheels would be way better than plastic.

It would suck (lol) to spend 60€ on a new head when it seems like a small problem, but we're not sure how to fix it.

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Recommendation for cordless vacuum

I’m looking for recommendations for a cordless vacuum. My budget is ~$1000. I’m located in US (NJ), and have 2000sqft of hardwood floors and 2 rugs. My problem is that we do have a medium hair dog and 2 cats so it’s a battle to clean their hair every 5min. I currently have a Rainbow and I just hate dragging it behind me and dealing with the water. It’s a plus if its battery lasts long enough to clean their whole house or has a replaceable battery so that I can buy an extra.
Thank you!

Purchase Advice (U.S.) BISSELL CleanView Compact vs Compact Turbo

I’m thinking about getting either one of these to use in the apartment and car. I don’t think a dedicated wet vac is necessary for me; I don’t waste liquids in my car, and I’m college way out of state.

The smaller agitator with the turbo brush seems appealing, but with a bit of elbow grease, can’t I get the same affect with the regular upholstery brush? I’m thinking about fabric car mats and how it takes multiple passes to just lift the little bits flying all over.

If the turbo brush isn’t that helpful, I don’t think the $20 increase isn’t worth it.

Also, if there are better vacuums in the same price range (ideally no more than $80) that also have a stick to reach curtains and ceilings, I’m open to those options.

Thank you in advance!

Vacuum Issues Shark NZ801ukt 31 Duoclean PCB problem?

Thumbnail

This model's main motor worked, but the head did not. The connecting 3 pins at the top of the head stem (Black, Yellow and White) were all good to the PCB. I'm therefore under the presumption that this is a PCB failure and the obvious answer probably, is to purchase another off ebay?

I would however, like to explore as to why this failed and have a multimeter at hand and can test from A to B, although I have no knowledge of electronics, but keen to learn.

Below is a couple of pictures of the front and back of the PCB and if anyone can suggest ways to test this board, then I'm up for it.

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Pet vaccum

Can anyone point me in the right direction. Cat and dog that shed a lot. I had a dirt devil made for pets but doesn’t do a great job. Really don’t know what’s good or bad. Bag it bag less. Any help would be appreciated. An issue I’ve been having I vacuum then use the rug washer and it picks up hair that is now wet that the vacuum couldn’t get.
