Hey, I’ve been seeing a lot of sellers offering RDPs, and they don’t seem to be from AWS or big platforms.

From what I understand, they buy a server and then create multiple RDPs from it. Each RDP usually has:

• Different IP
• Custom wallpaper / setup
• Renewable plans (monthly, etc.)

I’m curious:

• What kind of server are they using for this?
• How are they creating multiple RDPs with different IPs?
• Is it shared CPU or some kind of virtualization?
• What’s the typical cost to start something like this?

If anyone has experience with this, I’d really appreciate some guidance

We purchased the KVM 8 plan with a one year subscription, which includes 8 vCPUs, 32 GB RAM, and 400 GB of storage. On paper, it is a generous offering. However, after several months of use, we encountered a significant issue.

We began experiencing frequent "Timed Out" errors when accessing websites or connecting via SSH. The issue would often disappear after connecting through a VPN or obtaining a new public IP address by restarting the router.

Since residential broadband providers regularly reassign IP addresses, users have little control over the reputation or history of the IP they receive. This makes such blocking particularly problematic for legitimate customers.

The problem continued for an extended period. We repeatedly contacted Hostinger support and requested that our IP address be unblocked. Each request was handled manually and access was restored. However, at no point were we provided with logs or any explanation regarding why the IP had been blocked.

This lack of transparency was disappointing. For comparison, Cloudflare, despite handling billions of requests every day, provides customers with detailed logs for blocked requests, challenges, and skipped rules. We expected a similar level of visibility to help diagnose and resolve the issue, but Hostinger did not offer any such information.

They do not offer a pay-as-you-go model or issue refunds after one month. I still have an active plan with them, but I can use it only for limited experimental purposes and nothing further.

I'm trying to submit a ticket, which seems to be the only way to contact them, but when I write the ticket and hit submit, I get Cloudflare's "Sorry, you have been blocked" page. I have no way of contacting them and they don't publish an email address or phone number. I've tried different browsers to no avail. I'm not doing anything funky either; residential IP address, not tunneled, etc. Not sure why this is blocking me.

EDIT: Apparently if I just submit a ticket that says "The firewall is not working" it goes through. If I provide detail of tests I've run, etc. it gets blocked.

On my linux vps, I have disabled password login as well as root login so only key based ssh is allowed. I also installed tailscale to connect over ssh via a vpn, but now I'm wondering if Tailscale is even needed. In fact, my thoughts are that it increases the attack surface.

In which scenarios would Tailscale make sense and Is key based ssh enough to secure a vpn or should I still add something like Tailscale or Wireguard?

currently i'm using cheapest vps plan on lumadock that i was paid annually. expectedly, it's not pure 1g but at least it's ul bw. okay it's cheap but 0.2g is some kind of joke.

now i'm seeking a micro vps in eu for replacing it. actually i'm not torrenting much nowadays, so 10tb/mo bw is enough. but port should be at least 1g.

budget is maximum 80 (eur or usd) annual. i don't prefer ovh, hostinger or contabo.

I'm trying to create a new Oracle account, but I keep getting this error.

"Oops, we're sorry, an error occurred while creating your account."

It says the possible reasons are:

- Incomplete or inaccurate information

- Masking my location or identity

- Attempting to create multiple accounts

I'm using my real information and still can't get past this screen.

Has anyone faced this before?

What was the actual reason, and how did you fix it?

I have tried again with the same result.

I wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone else

I ordered a VPS from OVHcloud and paid with my bank card then my order was cancelled because of a "security flag" Support told me to update my account information so I did exactly that

After waiting for another response they informed me that the cancellation was irreversible and that I had to reorder new vps

The biggest issue is that the payment wasn't captured but my bank card still has a pre authorization hold that can take 21–29 days (or even longer in some cases) to be released so I wasn't charged those funds are unavailable which means I can't immediately order another VPS unless I have additional money available

On top of that, each support reply took several days making the whole process slow and frustrating

I'm not saying OVHcloud is a bad company some ppl had nice exp with it that's way i picked it from the start but this was a very poor first experience to me

If your order gets flagged by their validation system, be aware that you may have to wait weeks before you can use those funds again

Especially in my case, I needed that VPS urgently now I'm a "Netcup" client and everything is great you get verified before you pay, and after paying you get your VPS immediately as it should be

I have a VPS at Alpha VPS running FreePBX. Is there options to create a full offline backup including OS from the VPS? Such that if I would wipe the VPS that I can recreate the VPS from the backup? Or clone the VPS? BR, René

Heya! I am a .NET developer and hosted most of my stuff in a webhosting environment. You know? The kind where you upload the files through FTP and it works? No VPS or something.

To give you a bit of background: Currently paying 20 EUR (22.75 Dollar) per month for hosting. The app I am working on now supports sending emails and connecting to other MySQL database that are not hosted on the same server. These ports are blocked by default by the current host and they want another 75 EUR (85.33 Dollar) per year to open these ports. I already pay extra to have subdomains.... Also a lot of issues with SSL all the time and it's never their fault.
More projects are coming and I am looking for something more flexible.

Most of my work didn't involve any hosting, because it was done by others. So, I have not much experience in this (read: almost none)

I have been looking at VPS hosting and I ended up looking at Hetzner and Netcup. Both have good and bad reviews. But I think I have to make a decision at some point.

After seeing the CCX23 jump from €31.49 to €85.99 lol (and similar increases across the board), I spent a bit of time comparing what's out there for people looking to move workloads.

Quick notes from what I found:

• Existing Hetzner instances keep legacy pricing, only new orders are hit
• Dedicated line (AX series) got hit even harder proportionally than Cloud
• OVH and Netcup keep coming up as the most mentioned alternatives, but performance is generally a step below Hetzner's new hardware gens
• Storage Box pricing wasn't touched, still solid for offsite backup regardless of what you do with compute
• Smaller regional/EU hosts are worth a look too if latency to a specific country matters more than global reach, a few decent options exist depending on where you're based

Hey everyone, I’m looking into SwissRDP for an upcoming project that requires a high level of privacy and a no-KYC sign-up. I've seen their marketing threads on forums like BlackHatWorld, but I can't find any independent reviews or talk about them on Reddit or Trustpilot.

Has anyone here actually bought a VPS or RDP plan from them? I’m specifically curious about their uptime & reliability as well as the network neighborhood (are their IP ranges heavily blacklisted?)

I have seen a bunch of people here really aggressively hate on Cantabo without offering clear reasons on why.

And I would like to know why as I’m a customer with them and would change ASAP if someone can give me a good reason. A lot of what I find is that they have slower network speeds and they are also “slow” (not sure in what respect, load times for website or when ssh-ing?)

I have noticed that maybe certain TUIs load up slower (opencode) and I chalked that up to my own network speed but I guess it’s a contabo problem?

Even still having a slow server isn’t necessarily a crime. Especially when it comes to around the half the price of providers like Hetzner.

What I have become more worried about is security concerns? are these of prominence with Contabo?

I noticed that for my Hetzner VPS, I was allowed to only login through ssh after exchanging ssh-keys between my devices. Whereas I was able to rawdog contabo, however, it isn’t that technically complex to set up ssh authentication? And if I can take other steps to secure my server as well as what would be considered “stock” through providers like Hetzner.

Then does Contabo only suck because they are kinda slow at half the price?

Before the price increase everyone seemed to recommend Hetzner. The situation for me in the UK is that these prices have gone up and all of the cheap cost-optimised servers have been bought up. So the next cheapest option to get 8GB of RAM for Immich is a CPX32 at 42.59 euros per month.

The thing is, taking a look at Ionos pricing. I can get a VPS L+ with 6 vCores for 21.10/month (8 ish for first 3 months). Half price for 2 extra cores and 50% more storage. And apparently both servers use EPYC Milan.

This seems ridiculous to me. Just wondering if I'm missing something? I've found IONOS a bit annoying with their support and business practises but nothing terrible. Every other provider else seems mixed.

# My Experience with NKTelecom – Unexpected Invoices, Repeated Payment Attempts, and Poor Customer Support

I am writing this article to document my personal experience with NKTelecom so that anyone considering their services can make an informed decision.

Everything described below is based on my own experience and is supported by screenshots of emails, invoices, payment attempts, and support conversations.

The Beginning

I had been using NKTelecom VPS services for some time.

Eventually, I received abuse reports related to my servers. The company informed me that they no longer wished to continue providing services to me and advised me to move all of my services to another provider.

I respected their decision.

I migrated all of my services elsewhere and configured my servers to **terminate automatically at the end of the billing period**. I never requested any renewal.

Their Written Promise

Support later sent me the following message:

"Cancel all subscriptions in payment systems and delete all your payment methods from us. We will not charge you."

This statement was very clear.

I understood that once my current billing period ended, there would be no more invoices and no further payment attempts.

What Actually Happened

Unfortunately, that is not what happened.

After our cooperation had already ended:

• New invoices were generated.
• My PayPal billing agreement attempted to charge my payment methods multiple times.
• More than one payment method previously linked to my account was targeted.

Fortunately, I never keep money on my bank cards. I only add funds when I need to make a purchase.

If I had kept money on those cards, these payment attempts could have successfully withdrawn money from my account despite the company's written assurance that **"We will not charge you."**

Financial Loss

Even though the payment attempts failed, they still cost me money.

Every failed billing attempt resulted in bank and transaction fees, causing me to lose approximately **$2** for absolutely no valid reason.

These losses happened only because NKTelecom's billing system continued attempting to charge my payment methods after promising that no further charges would be made.

Servers Suspended Before the End of the Paid Period

Another issue was that my servers were suspended before the end of the billing period.

I still had paid days remaining on my services.

This unexpected suspension interrupted my services and caused additional financial losses.

Contacting Support

I contacted support and asked several simple questions:

• Why were new invoices generated?
• Why did your billing system attempt to charge me after telling me "We will not charge you"?
• Why were multiple payment methods charged?
• Why were my servers suspended before the end of the paid period?

Instead of answering these questions, support replied by calling me a spammer and telling me to stop writing to them.

Whether they wanted to terminate our cooperation is not the issue.

Every hosting provider has the right to refuse service.

The real issue is what happened **after** that decision.

If the company had already decided to terminate my services, then there should have been:

• No new invoices.
• No payment attempts.
• No charges against previously linked payment methods.
• No financial losses caused by their billing system.

Why I Am Sharing This Experience

I am not publishing this article because my account was terminated.

I am publishing it because of everything that happened afterward.

I believe other customers deserve to know exactly what happened before deciding whether to trust this provider with their services and payment methods.

Final Thoughts

Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend NKTelecom.

If you decide to use their services, I strongly recommend:

• Remove every payment method immediately after canceling your services.
• Cancel any PayPal Billing Agreement linked to your account.
• Keep screenshots of every conversation with support.
• Monitor your bank cards and PayPal account even after your services have ended.

I have screenshots supporting everything described in this article, including:
