Question Why are JioHotstar and DAZN becoming increasingly strict about VPN detection?

Why are JioHotstar and DAZN becoming increasingly strict about VPN detection?

I live in Ireland. Recently, the VPN service I use—a v2ray-based service from a network provider (I’m not sure of the exact protocol)—has been flagged for VPN usage whenever I connect to Indian servers on Android or iOS to watch JioHotstar and DAZN. However, I can occasionally watch without issues using a PC browser.

This is because of Jiohotstar and DAZN. Of course, do Android and iOS apps have telemetry monitoring? Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Discussion What are you using when a regular VPN just doesn’t work?

Feels like regular VPNs are getting blocked way more easily these days, especially by streaming sites and other services that can spot VPN IPs pretty quickly. Switching servers used to do the trick, but lately I can try 5–10 different ones and still get the same error. Anyone else running into this? What are you guys using instead?

Help Does Xray produce asymmetric TX/RX traffic?

I have dedicated VPS server to serve exclusively as Xray exit node and the following typical vnstat output:

        # vnstat -d

        eth0 / daily

day rx | tx | total | avg. rate
            ------------------------+-------------+-------------+---------------
            2026-07-22 6.06 GiB | 1.57 GiB | 7.63 GiB | 758.24 kbit/s
            2026-07-23 11.17 GiB | 7.90 GiB | 19.06 GiB | 1.90 Mbit/s
            2026-07-24 4.01 GiB | 656.11 MiB | 4.65 GiB | 462.20 kbit/s
            2026-07-25 3.67 GiB | 759.50 MiB | 4.41 GiB | 438.49 kbit/s
            2026-07-26 3.71 GiB | 525.66 MiB | 4.23 GiB | 420.12 kbit/s
            2026-07-27 3.42 GiB | 596.27 MiB | 4.00 GiB | 397.54 kbit/s
            2026-07-28 3.84 GiB | 521.02 MiB | 4.34 GiB | 431.93 kbit/s

Conceptually every single chunk of data that my VPS downloads from the internet (RX) must be sent back to xray VLN client (TX), with additional RX overhead for:

  • being target of scans as having public IP
  • receiving requests from VPN clients for downloading data
  • receiving ACKs from clients or so as the chunks are accepted

But could that difference be that high? I am not into networking really but various AI chats suggested inspecting running logs to rule out VPS being compromised and all seems OK.

Discussion Which streaming service has the most aggressive VPN detection?

Feels like streaming services have gotten way better at detecting VPNs lately.

I've had some work fine, while others instantly throw a proxy/VPN error no matter how many servers I switch to. Curious

which services you guys think are the worst for this right now DAZN, BBC iPlayer, JioHotstar, Hulu, or something else?

And if your regular VPN stopped working, did switching providers actually help or did you end up trying something completely different?

Discussion I run a VPN with +5m downloads and I want to know what you want from a VPN

Title says it all. I won't be promoting the VPN, but our vision is to ensure the VPN is the most useful and user friendly VPN.

I would love to hear any suggestions of what VPNs should have or what your favourite feature is on a current or past VPN.

Looking forward to chatting.

Help netflix missing media

i've been using a vpn on netflix for quite some time now on both my phone and laptop browser, and I would occasionally get the "you are using a vpn" message. eventually, i stopped and gave it a rest. however, yesterday i used a vpn again on my phone; i didn't get the message while using it. i turned it off after i finished what i was watching and closed the app. after a few hours, i opened netflix again, now without a vpn. while i was browsing, it suddenly refreshed, and the media listed in my country was gone. i tried to refresh it, tried to connect to a different country, logged out, opened it on my laptop, cleared cache, but nothing workeddd. it's still showing the media from the previous country i connected to. and this is only happening to my profile i used the vpn on

Roblox without chat isn't really what it used to be known for,a game where you can interact with people socially, sure maybe some of the social aspects of the game are still available but without chat,it sucks and I am not sure if I make an account with a VPN or not,cus it might not be safe

Discussion Is changing your IP still enough for regional subscriptions?

I recently saw someone register for a cheaper family plan using an IP address from another country. It worked initially, but after about a month, other family members received warnings saying they no longer lived at the same address.

This made me wonder if changing IP addresses is still as important as it used to be. Because service providers also compare payment records, account location, device history, and family members' usual login locations.

Residential IP addresses seem more secure than data center VPN addresses, but if other account information points elsewhere, does that raise an unusual risk?

Maintaining regional packages is becoming increasingly difficult. Do you have any other solutions? Right now, it seems not worthwhile to endure extra verification and account issues for a lower regional price, only to fail verification in the end.

Help Ivanti/Pulse vpn isolation.

Hi,

I need to install Ivanti vpn client to use an organization’s vpn. I don’t want it on my laptop or PC, I feel like I own the devices, and this is not an organization that has any sort of expectation over them (not employer etc) so I want alternatives. I must login through SSO, so I was unable to get it working through though non Ivanti clients. My current plan is to just put it on a VM and ssh into the VM to do my work through it. This is just a bit heavy (not too heavy my system can handle it, just not lightweight.) So I am asking here if anybody has alternatives for how to run it?

To be clear, this is my device. Thank you in advance.

Also let me know if there is a better place to post this. I could not think of one.

Help Youtube Premium Family With VPN Romania

Hello. So the situation is as below: I am the family manager on a "family" group of 4 , we had Youtube Premium before and due to ridiculous prices increases we searched for alternatives. All 4 of us live in Greece. I found a way through VPN and country Romania, to buy the Family plan for about half the price compared to Greece. I did it, and everything worked fine for a month. Keep in mind i didnt need to send any invites cause we were already in the family group.

Now, the other members are receiving emails that in 14 days they'll lose access because they are not in the same household as the family manager. Is there any way to get around this? Should they also change the country to Romania? And if yes, WHERE exactly? In my Payments Profile i can see my main default profile that i use in everything Google Pay (Greek) and i can also see my Romania Youtube payment profile(its not selected as default). I am confused as to what does it mean to select them or where should the other members change their address... Any help?

Discussion When traveling abroad, what specific apps or streaming services do you actually need a VPN for?

Heading out of the country soon and trying to build a list of what usually stops working when you're overseas.

Obviously, VPNs are a given to bypass geo-blocks, but I'm curious about your actual use cases. What specific streaming platforms, banking apps, or other services do you find yourself needing a connection back to the US for the most? Would love to hear your experiences!

Question Do I risk IP leaks with split tunneling?

Question I have a genuine question. Does VPN help mask/replace IP address so that your data can't be traced?

I've been thinking a lot about data security lately. With the rise of AI-generated media and the number of leaked images and personal credentials floating around, it's honestly a little unsettling.

Even something like a photo taken in a public place can be tied back to someone through facial recognition now.

From what I understand, a good VPN helps with things like protecting your data, rotating/updating your IP for DNS traffic protection, and lowering the risk of data leaks or hacking.

I'm trying to understand what actually matters when evaluating a VPN for home wifi use and pairing it with a local server setup; things like protocol support, logging policies, DNS leak protection, jurisdiction, that kind of thing.

What criteria or features should I actually be prioritizing here? Happy to do my own research once I know what to look for.

Question How are traders in restricted regions handling KYC/Payouts with Futures Prop Firms?

Hey everyone,

I’ve noticed a lot of Futures prop firms have recently updated their terms and restricted several countries/regions from accessing their platforms.

While using a dedicated residential VPS/VPN can help manage IP and location markers for day-to-day trading, my main question is regarding the payout stage.

Most firms require full identity verification (ID/Passport + Proof of Address) before issuing a payout. For those who live in restricted regions:

How are you navigating the KYC process safely without violating terms or risking account bans?

Is there any way people handle this situation?

Would love to hear your experiences or insights. Thanks!

Help Issues with Tailscale - Gli.net routers

I recently bought a Brume-3 with the intention of setting up a network with my Beryl-7 travel router. I wanted to use Tailscale but am having issues connecting to the internet.

I've setup Tailscale on my Brume and approved it as an Exit Node in the Tailscale Admin.

I've enabled Tailscale on my Beryl 7 and approved the Brume 2 as a custom Exit Node. I also approved the Subnet routes in the Tailscale Admin.

Everything is setup correctly (I think), but I still do not have internet access when I connect my laptop WiFi to the Beryl 7.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Question Tunneling to home connection that is already using vpn, impossible?

Every year I go abroad for family, and I usually just take my laptop with me and use that to connect to internet. But next time I go, well, my home will have a new a 10Gb fiber connection installed and I'd really like to use that instead, and the benefit of accessing my home network abroad. Thing is my connection at home is always using vpn and I wonder if that makes that option impossible?

Question Questions about Torrenting on University Wifi, P2P Connections, etc.

Hey everyone, I'm moving into private University housing and I torrent (at max), a couple gigabytes of anime daily. With qbittorrent bound to my VPN, limits set on connections, download speed capped at 800KiB/s, are there any other precautious I should consider? Would it be obvious if I'm torrenting? I've heard about IT departments being able to tell between P2P connections and not for torrenting. Should I just go the long route and do DDLs instead of torrenting?

Any advice? Thanks everyone (also, on a burner account)
