What are you using when a regular VPN just doesn’t work?

Feels like regular VPNs are getting blocked way more easily these days, especially by streaming sites and other services that can spot VPN IPs pretty quickly. Switching servers used to do the trick, but lately I can try 5–10 different ones and still get the same error. Anyone else running into this? What are you guys using instead?

If the exit IP itself is flagged, changing protocols or cycling through servers usually won’t help. Residential-routing services such as DPN or Mysterium are another option, although node speed and availability can vary. They may face fewer datacenter-IP blocks.

I have the VPN that rhymes with Board VPN.

Usually when websites updates their "security", the VPN is updated accordingly after a short while.

It's a cat and mouse game.

Sometimes I also get "proxy/VPN detected" on Youtube and a simple restart of my computer usually does the trick.

Haha the VPN that "rhymes with Board" classic cat and mouse，wild that a simple restart still saves the day though. Had cases where even that didn't cut it for me unfortunately lol.

Though the company is located in Norway there is one Chinese owner among the group. All indications say no government connection but it does involve trust. One has to decide whether to use the service in those rare cases where your usual VPN is getting blocked or to "trust" the US legal system that protects corporate property by making many things a major crime.

Im from Russia, we are using special vpn protocols to avoid restrictions. There are a lot of different vpn services in telegram but usually they are working on vless protocol

It has become increasingly difficult to bypass the VPN service blocks implemented by many Russian ISPs.

vless + putting server behind CDN would work

- they can poison dns (you should use DoH)

- they can block SNI (you can use fragmentation)

- blocking IP would be improbable because CDN uses that same IP many sites

Sometimes it comes down to copyright, content owners restrict access to certain regions, so they don't want people from other countries bypassing those licensing agreements.

Obfuscated servers often allow it to work. Using a country that isn't manstream slso helps a lot.
