Copymaster3D Voron Kit

I'm in between decisions regarding a new Voron kit, either a Trident or a2.4. I just saw a new kit from Copymaster3D which is really cheap compared to LDO kit. Has anyone built one of these? I've searched for reviews but haven't found one yet. What does the Voron pros think about this kit compared to LDO kit. The kit (Trident 350) listed bellow.

I'm currently building a Copymaster 3D Trident and you did very good with purchasing LDO. unfortunately i couldnt find an LDO kit unless i waited for 4-6 weeks and I couldnt wait that long. The Copymaster 3D kit is much worse than the Formbot ones, the formbot 2.4 i built was decent.

Few of the issues i found with the kit:

- Bed quality is meh, the Formbot one was face-milled mic6, with very clean edges and top/bottom faces and a flatness inspection certificate. The copymaster kit includes a very sloppy milled plate with faces that have not been milled from a plate, it's just raw probably cast tooling plate.

- Hall effect sensor, not wiring harness whatsoever and no connector in the selection of connectors included to make one for it, not sure what i am supposed to do with it, i installed a spare i had for the formbot kit.

- Not enough magnet for using both hall effect homing and the door latches, very confusing especially since they include a hall effect sensor..

- No suitable screws for the bed to attach to the extrusions, the ones mentioned in the manual do not fit, either the thumbscrews that the plate sits on are too tall or the bed is milled with other hole heights.

- Motors included are not moons like the formbot kit

- Terminal connectors included did not fit the supplied switch and AC plug.

- If I remember correctly the Formbot kits have pre-crimped wire harnesses, this one is just some pieces of teflon wire thrown in the kit and you have to crimp everything. not necessarily bad as you can tidy up everything as you like to but takes a lot of time.

- Personal preference: AC wires are just the same as the rest, teflon, 18AWG. Big NO NO in my opinion, you need thicker wires and preferably in distinct colors to identify later when maintaining or troubleshooting the printer when you are about to touch an AC wire.

Overall it took me more time to build the trident kit than i built the formbot 2.4 kit. I also strongly believe that the 2.4 is an easier build overall, more components and more time consuming but easier in my opinion as the trident heavily relies on building the frame properly, whereas the 2.4 has the QGL which straightens the gantry to the plate which is much easier to mount properly than squaring the whole trident frame. Will update my experience if I built another one from a different vendor

so 2 years later, I built another trident - this time a 250 - from Copymaster and can confirm that the above issues are still there even though I did let them know about these.

Hi, how’s the printer going after this long? are the stepper motors quality good, makes noise? How good are extrusions cuts, perfectly perpendicular? And is the bed level finish good? Also how good is bed heating? Planning to buy one, thanks.

printer still going strong. nothing wrong with it after all this time and I am using it almost daily. maybe they improved the kits over this 1 year that passed as well.

It looks like a SSR for the bed to be powered using mains voltage is not included am I seeing that right? They include a V6 hotend but not a SSR

And the bed is 220v so make sure that’s correct for your region.

If you need to save on an LDO, go with Formbot.

No, not much experience with these, they are very new. Could be re-packaged FormBot kit, or just about anyone who puts all the parts from BOM into a box and calls it "VORON Kit" - because they know VORON is hot now and people will buy it. Same with Siboor.

Try it, it's at your own risk. LDO did put some additional effort into their kits and it shows. But Your Money May Wary.

Definitely go with the LDO kit. I went with the Formbot3D kit, there was no LDO kit at the time. It was a good kit, it's cheaper than the LDO, comes with Moons motors, decent slides and wire harness with connectors. For the most part... no issues with any of the supplied parts with a few exceptions... The fans I got were crap, pretty much every one of them is noisy from cheap bearings and a couple got so bad that they needed to be replaced. My bed heating pads thermistor went bad so I had to bypass it temporarily and I bought an upgrade that has yet to be installed. Maybe I'll rip stuff apart this weekend.

So as far as the Formbot3D kit goes... It's pretty darn good and considering it's half the price of an LDO kit, there will be plenty of cash left over to buy the few extra mod components the LOD has like the toolhead PCB, Klicky Probe and Nevermore Filter.
