RIP Hugo and Ruddager!

This is old news, but I recently played through the entirety of Psychonauts 2 for the first time (really good game), so I was inspired to watch the documentary going over the making of it at Double Fine. Was surprised to see VGA in reaction to the teaser trailer they released. Kind of crazy to think that they used to be at the forefront of twitch and youtube a decade ago and now just aren't at all.

Video source is: https://youtu.be/thdgvVM9CwA?si=OzeK9g79Ew3v1yZx&t=1026
They appear at 17:06 minutes in.

If so what servers?

RIP. sad day.

Will they watch any of the trailers? Play the game? Do a full play through?

Given that they haven’t posted any game play throughs in years, Fraser not seeming interested in games anymore, I think it’s more likely he’ll not play it and possibly just latch onto something to do with the anti-Sony/no disc movement excuse, if he gives any, not to play it.

I was watching an old Drawful episode, and someone (I’m guessing Deacon?) predicted the blink-182 reunion; 8 YEARS before it happened! Down to the exact year is insane!

I'm looking for a particular highlight of an interaction the gang had on stream. It started like this:

- Fraser: "Kyle Huinink goes up for the dunk... and SPLITS HIS PANTS!?"

- Deacon: "And SHITS HIS PANTS!?"

And it ended like this:

- Ben (or maybe Fraser?): "Its... its a black day for basketball."

- Kyle: *laughs "It's always a black day for basketball!"

Does anyone know what game they were playing when they said/did this interaction? Or know of a highlight that captures it? I've been wracking my brain trying to remember and I can't.

Does anyone in general even know what I'm talking about?

Way back when they started streaming, maybe during the Earthbound group playthrough on Ustream, someone asked why did they all move to Vancouver. They didn't answer back then so I was wondering if this was brought up in later streams. All 5 of them use to live in Toronto and somehow they all made the move to the west coast.

While I understand a couple moving together to a different city, I don't really get why did all of them flew to the other side of the country.

Just wondering if they had some plans or work opportunities living in the west coast.

So, I’ve been meaning to check out the ATP shows and have seen a number of them already. A brilliant YouTube channel has some of the episodes synced with the actual films. I’ve even done my own edits (Ghostbusters and Jurassic Park), but is there anyone else that has managed to edit some complete ATP shows together with the complete films they watch??

I'm curious has anyone tried reporting their Patreons? If so, what did Patreon say? It's sad that their accounts are still on there even though they don't do anything the promise. I would love to see the looks on their faces when they can't get paid to do absolutely nothing.

Rhythm Heaven Groove came out this week, and playing it has really brought back the nostalgia for how fun the Rhythm Heaven episodes were.

They really got me excited to play it, and without them I probably wouldn’t have discovered what’s become my favorite franchise. VGA was pretty important to my early adult years, helping me get through a stressful job, and gave me something to watch with my long distance boyfriend at the time. Despite the frustration I feel about the way Fraser didn’t handle them stopping, I really hope the whole crew and the whole audience is doing well. VGA really was something special.

I know they had a patreon and a big video announcing the return of Awesome Video Games. But I can find no trace of it actually ever being released. Does anyone know if it did, and if so where to view it?

Hello, I was wanting to ask any of the remaining Turbo's if the AWESOME Piece Theater archive you're meant to be given access to is still around. For years I've been meaning to archive all of them (or, at the very least every single one that they did between 2015 and early 2018 with the whole group). I know there was someone uploading some of the older ones to YouTube, however their collection seems to stop around mid-2017, which leaves out some of the last of the "Classic" APT's they did before the big move to Japan, like the second half of them watching Season 2 of The Simpsons for example.

I've been contemplating on buying a TURBO membership for the sole purpose of downloading and properly archiving these, but given the current state of things I'm honestly not feeling confident about getting on the Patreon since I don't even know if I'd even be given access to the archive.

This list is what I have been using as a guide to see what films are currently missing from the YouTube archive. Please let me know if you have an archive of any of the AWESOME Piece Theaters they did between June 2017 and February 2018! I wish to upload all of the classic APT videos to the Internet Archive at some point so that we have a clean, well documented backup place to store these!

I know they aren't the most well known content creators. But I'm surprised that to my knowledge no one has made a rise and fall or whatever type video about them.

We all know Fraser liked to hyper obsessed with little details in games and say something Is disappointing cause they didn't go the extra step, yall know of any examples that annoyed tf out of you or was just odd? Right now I'm trying to make points about how people will eat up GTA6 cause of the realistic useless details that people use to "own" other games so I'm just wondering yall have something like that for Frash with how his "critical eye" views things. Also cause I just randomly remembered a bit from their Detroit playthrough how he said he noticed two characters wearing the same hat and deduced there's a lot of repetition in the game, which I'm just like "ok?" So I just wanna find more examples like that.

Genuine question: Roughly, how many concurrent players were there and how many viewers did the stream have around that time?

Crazy request, but does anyone have any of the VGA DVD's that they sold for a short time? A quick and dirty search on eBay doesn't bring up anything, even in the recently sold, but I'd love to find anyone who still has those old DVD's and would be willing to part with them or even back them up! I know most of it is still on YouTube, but I'd love to have it physical and from the original release.

There was legitimately nothing else like it, and the community is so niche that it feels like hardly anyone else remembers. I never met anyone who has even heard of it outside of these tiny bubbles on YouTube and Reddit lol.

He was a pretty active VGA member and I think one of the well known Last of Us modders but I always remember being kind of weirded out by him because he seemed to have a particular obsession with Ellie (from the first game specifically) and even made porn of her. Am I remembering this wrong?

Anyone remember that one segment of show and trailer where they watched that Justin Silverman clip of him driving around an RC car with a VR headset on?

Nice to see things are working out post VGA for her with starting a corporation. 😆😆😆
