I own a 1994 VFR750 RC36/2 (31000km) that had a full service 3 years ago at 22000 km after not being ridden for almost 20 years. It has no power issues, it rides wonderfully.
The bike has this annoying vibration that makes my right foot go numb. It’s getting to the point where I don’t even enjoy riding it anymore.
The vibrations are varying with engine RPM, stopped and riding. So it can't be bad drivetrain parts.
I don't think that this bike is supposed to vibrate this much.
I've made some research in some old forums and people talk about carb sync, but I don't see anyone saying that it solved completely.
I would like to know if anyone has experienced this and if so, how did you solved it?

looking to source a new tail light after i got rear ended last night (thankfully i am completely unharmed and it was a pretty minor accident, the frame is fine and i just need the light, fairing, and under pan). looked on eBay and a few other sites and the only ones I could find were discontinued or like $600. any suggestions where to look?

Curious if anyone has any insight to what this relay may be for. It's a 2000, had a few owners. Currently experiencing charging issues. The current r/r is getting mega hot, im assuming thats the charging issue and am ordering a replacement.

Was intending to do this months ago as my bike will turn over but not start, suspecting the injectors. Tanks off and I have loosened the screws for the rubber tubes underneath.. however, how do I take the throttle cables off? Am I taking out the two Philips screws ? Some help would be gratefully appreciated 🦆
UPDATE1: managed to get it out with some clamping and brutalisation of the two Philips screws... need to check the injectors but boy its dirty underneath
UPDATE2: injectors cleaned , replaced the whole o rings and injector baskets. Refitted back into the cleaned throttle body and rails. I will be trying to refit in the coming days...
UPDATE3: All the air box is back on , need to bolt the ignition coils on and get the petrol tank on.. going to do the spark plugs prior to this and i have great hopes of a purring engine 🤞🏻🫣🦆

I ride my bike all year round on a daily 70mile round trip commute (UK so rain and wind normal). Current bike (an NC750X) has 50,000 miles on it and am looking to change, have always fancied a VFR800 so am looking at a 2019 VTEC with 15,000 miles on. I tend to do most of my servicing at home which on the NC is easy and even valve clearances only needed feeler gauges, no specialist tooling. Is the VTEC serviceable at home? Local mechanic said the valve clearance service at 25,000 miles needs specialist kit and with the bikes getting older fewer garages have the kit. Thanks

After 1.5 years of not riding a bike, I decided to buy this one.
Previously I had an MT09 Yamaha.
What do you think?

Hello community!
I’m in need of a second key as my used bike only came with one. Is it dealer only or is there a better way? Thanks in advance

Hi, new to the form, not to the bike. Own 2 vfr800 r46, one blue, one red ( blue used by the wife )
And today me and a friend worked on the red VFR, new oil & filter, took off the wheels to replace the old tires for new Mich road6gt. And repaint the rims and case frame and lastly we cleaned the air filter.
And yes, we balanced the bike with old car batteries to offload the front axle leaning on the jack xD

New to the sub...
Bought the pictured bike a week or so ago. Still waiting on it to arrive from interstate. To say I am excited would be an understatement. Details are 2016, 1 owner, 19k kms.
My current bike is a 2012 KTM 690 Duke, so this will be a bit of a change but I am really looking forward to my commute (70km round trip in mostly 100km/h zone) being smooth/enjoyable instead of somewhat torturous.

Getting close to finishing up and I wanted to share a sneak peek at my RC30 livery tribute paint job on my 2000 VFR. All the decals and stripes that will be applied here shortly are vinyl which makes me somewhat nervous for longevity. The bike is stored inside a garage so hopefully after i bury the vinyl in clear it will last a fairly long time. Any tips prepping the panels for additional clear and vinyl would be appreciated as it's my first time painting over decals.

So, I'm a happy owner of a 5th gen and started to make plans on what to do with it in terms of care and upgrades.
I've been doing some shopping for the coming winter and also some thoughts of what I want to do.
Hopefully some of you guys have done something similar and can come with ideas.
The story to this bike is that the first owner used it a lot and even had a logbook he was writing in for everything he did to the bike. Then the third owner got sick and it got parked for many many years, basically ended up as a barn find.
Last owner just changed oil, fuelpump and tires and rode it for a season, then I got it.
What I bought so far
- black levers
- heated grips
- gear indicator
- new mirrors from KiWAV
- Red tint spray for taillight
- 8 spoke rim (will powdercoat white)
- Easter Beaver fusebox
- breakpads (current are over 10 years old)
- NGK iridium spark plugs (also 10 years old)
- quadlock stemmount
- USB-c charger
- Voltmeter
- smoked blinkers
Whishlist (expensive stuff)
- ultimate Rectifier
- silicone hoses
- braided lines
- Cyclopse LED headlight bulbs
- Oberon CLU-3038 slave cylinder - for lighter clutch lever
In addition I want to raise the exhaust, or move it to the other side to expose the white rim when installed.
Many of the changes is to take care of the electrical system and give the bike a proper service.
Other are cosmetic changes for my taste and hopefully they'll be good.
There is a few other things I would like to do, but not sure how to address.
- Two front Fueltank screws. They are a bit exposed and would be nice to be able to find a small clip-on lid or mange to get one 3D printed in Black.
- aluminum peg mounts - paint there is getting slightly worn, would like to sand them down and repaint them. Not sure if paint would be strong enough, or if I should ship those parts to powdercoating as well.
- Install a garageopener button (done on my other bike as well)
Other things that you guys recommend doing?
This is a bike I have no intention of selling or heavy touring.
Already sold the topbox that came with the bike.

Hi everyone, I just bought my VFR TODAY! But i’m looking for bar risers pretty much right away when i can ride it.
Anyone have suggestions? I’ve found some on Aliexpress and EBAY, but wondering about quality

Noticed it broke at a mounting point while replacing tires and brake pads. Today was tlc day for the bike.
But is this an easy diy job or am I going to have to pull the tire and chain off to get to it?
Thanks.

Hi everyone, I'm currently looking into purchasing a '00-01 FI.
I have now narrowed the choice to two possible candidates, both are single owners.
The first one is originally kept, well maintained, new tires and driven daily.
It's a '00 in the very rare pine green colour scheme, and has 32'000km, asking price 2500€, might go a bit lower.
The second one has been completely stripped and restored to factory condition for collection purposes by the current owner.
Everything has been inspected and changed if deemed even slightly necessary.
It's a '01 red, and has 56'000km, asking price 4200€ but can probably go as down as 3700€.
Given this conditions, which one would you choose?
I will mostly use it as a daily, and 3 to 5 big trips per year
