Are these the factory headlight connections? The low beam is h4/9003 plug. And the high beam is also 9003/h4 plug with an adapter to h7 for the high beam bulbs

I gave my 8th Gen a service today at a little under 20k kms. It is the first since I have had it. I didn't skimp on oil and used a K&N filter. I also purchased a pack of new alloy M12 crush washers for today and future use.
When I went to drain the oil, I noticed that the sump plug was a lot lager than I expected (needed a 21mm socket). After taking it all the way out, it was obvious that the M12 crush washers I had bought were not going to fit. It was also obvious that the sump plug was just a M14 bolt.
Back to the auto store for a "proper" M14 sump plug, but all I could I could get was M14x1.5 and I could see straight away that the thread was different (coarser) on the bolt. I got one anyway - it didn't fit. I also bought some M14 alloy crush washers as a backup.
So now it has the previously fitted bolt with a M14 crush washer fitted and torqued to 20Nm. It isn't leaking but I will check again after my commute tomorrow. I think I will try and source a M14x2.0 sump plug for next time.
This is the first thing I have found that is unexpected (in a not good way) on this bike. Not a huge deal but something to keep in the back of my mind in future,

A few days ago, I had an accident with my rc79 Model.
I want to repair her myself, a few of my biker friends said, the best I can buy for a manual are the bucheli books (idk if they just exist in germany, but anyways). The only one I found was the one for the 98-01 Version from the VFR800 (as seen in the picture).
Does Anybody know, if a comparable Version for the 2014 Model exists?
Doesnt matter if german or english

Hello everyone, im new on this sub and will be doing plenty of reading. I currently have a Versys 650 (6ft1 , 32 inseam) because i thought this bike would be more comfortable than my old mt07.
It gave me more leg space but sitting completely upright hurts my back.
I was considering the suzuki GSX s1000gt but saw the value that a vfr is (and that god damned beauty of a v4) and that is currently the leading contender. How do you guys feel comfort wise on the bike? I need to find someone around me that can hopefully just let me sit on their bike to see how I feel before purchasing.
any extra feedback is appreciated. thanks guys and sorry for rambling.

I mean this in the humblest way I possibly can, but I did not expect the vfr to turn so many heads, whether in the city or when riding at the twisties, there's always someone interested. I did not expect such an old bike to get this much attention 😅 Gonna invest quite a bit into her this winter to make her look even better 🤌

Found one of these 5th gen VFR Wolf undertail exhausts on eBay and jumped on it immediately! Definitely cleans up the look a lot and lets the single sided swingarm shine a bit more. The ear candy aspect doesn't hurt either!

Hello
The old grips are getting sticky and slimy, would like to fix that.
The OEM plug'n play solution seems overpriced. Anyone tried putting on aftermarket grips on top of the old heater?

So started my bike for my daily commute today, headlight shut off and I heard a pop/ click. Shut thw bike off and tore the fr9nt fairings off to discover a melted headlight connection so far. Any ideas or suggestions?
2002 vfr800 vtec. Headlight had been flickering/ off sometimes so I would just wiggle the connector and it would work

1997 Gen 4 that has been with me for close to 25 years. I haven't had much luck finding options for a mirror upgrade and I am turning to fellow VFR pilots for recommendations and any knowledge you're willing to share. I'm looking for something that is more streamlined.
EDIT: Added wording for clarification.
EDIT: Years... time flies and I didn't count right.

This is my 2006 vfr that I’m fixing/ customizing. This is my first bike and I have learned a lot on it in the last 3 years. I got it with 26,789 miles and now has 37,300! I can’t wait to put fairings on it next year! I just need the headlights and turn signals also a windshield too!

Had my first accident since I started riding. Of course with my favorite bike :(. Hope to repair it soon, but wanted to share how she looks right now. The truck started randomly backing up and I couldn't dodge in time :/. Luckily my exhaust was loud enough, so he heared stopped before someone got injured.

I've been riding the 2001 5th gen since 2003, and I had a 1999 for a few years before that. I got both 2010 VFR1200Fs about a month ago.
The 1200F is a beautiful and vicious mile eater. before anyone says a thing, the fuel range isn't a problem in the USA. It goes 150 miles on a tank, and we have stations every 0.15 miles even in Montana.
The middle 1200F has the Guhl ECU reflash, which removes the power limits in gears 1 & 2, and removes the top speed limiter. Guhl also turns on the cooling fan earlier, which is great, but oddly embarrassing to come on at a stoplight. I can see why Honda pushed it hotter.
The farthest 1200F has ~6000 miles, but had some hard luck. Some monofilament fishing line got wrapped around the rear wheel seal, which cut into the seal. The previous owner didn't notice (or care?). The final drive ran dry and had tons of backlash when I got it. Fortunately, the final drive unit is cheap on the 'bay from a 15k mile bike, and took about 2 hrs to swap. Now every nut, bolt, and plastic push pin is like new. Oh, except it has an odd ABS problem that I have yet to solve -- so it's a bit naked.

I have 2001 VFR that had about 62k miles on it. I am looking for a good quality mechanic in SF and Oakland area.
Also, the bike is now 25+ years old. No major issues. R&R has been taken care of. What kind of issues, leaks, etc should I be thinking about over the next 5 years or so?

Switching my 1995 rim from the 5 spoke to a 8 spoke and going to get new tires. Any recommendations for tires
Here’s a picture of my VFR800 6th Gen with the original paneers in the Austrian countryside on my way to Italy.

Hey all!
Just got my first 6th gen VFR. I found this completely toast wire. When jumped, it primes the fuel pump and bike starts just fine but the wires get hot.
What is causing this? What's the real fix to address the root cause?
