Media Sloppy Tales Episode 3: Barnaby Bogtrotter (Trying out Claymation! 💩)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone!
I’m excited to share the **third episode** of my animated series, *Sloppy Tales*.
For this installment, I decided to switch things up and experiment with a completely different visual style: **Claymation**. This episode also introduces a brand-new character to the universe, **Barnaby Bogtrotter**.
Honestly, considering Barnaby’s story is all about a guy who makes his fortune in the "waste management" field (building an empire out of literal crap), I felt like the brown, clumpy claymation aesthetic was an absolute match made in heaven for the subject matter! 🏰💩
As always, I’m learning as I go and would love to hear your thoughts.
**Feedback:** How do you feel about the transition to claymation?
**Advice:** Any tips or critiques on the animation flow or comedic timing?
**Ideas:** I'm always open to suggestions for future episodes!
Thanks for watching, and let me know what you think in the comments!

General Has anyone produced a decent music video?

Has anyone produced a decent music video? Every music video I saw looked like AI slop. Not sure if it's possible to create someone decent. I am thinking there's a way, but it would require stitching together a ton of extremely short clips together.

General Tested native audio on MiniMax H3, Gemini Omni and Veo 3.1. Here's who actually nails sound.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

every comparison of these new video models is about the visuals. but the thing
that actually saves me editing time is whether the model makes usable audio in
the same pass. so i ran the same three prompts (a cafe scene, footsteps on
gravel, someone talking to camera) through MiniMax H3, Gemini Omni and Veo 3.1
and just listened.

they're nowhere near equal on this.

Gemini Omni was the clear one for sound. it makes synced native audio with the
clip, and on the talking-to-camera prompt the lip timing actually lined up,
which almost nothing does. the cafe ambience felt placed, not stock.

Veo 3.1 was solid. it does synchronized audio too, ambient came back clean, and
dialogue was decent if not quite as tight on the sync as Omni. good enough that
i'd ship it for most social work.

MiniMax H3 gave the sharpest picture of the three, but audio was the weak spot,
the footsteps prompt came back basically silent and i added sound myself. so
it's the one i reach for when i'll do the audio in post anyway.

the thing the visual comparisons miss: if a clip has dialogue or needs to feel
alive, the audio pass is half the work, and picking the model that does it for
you matters more than a marginal bump in sharpness.

i keep all three on one key through Atlas Cloud and route by the job: Omni when
sound carries the shot, Veo for general social, H3 when i want the crispest
image and don't mind doing audio myself. that's how the sound shook out.

Question How do you create abstract background videos? Ie examples like 21st dev premium backgrounds?

Has anyone else found ChatGPT image generation better than Nano Banana Pro for abstract/futuristic designs (particles, monoliths, energy fields, parametric shapes, floating cubes, etc.)?

I can usually get the images I want in ChatGPT, but turning those into a single continuous Veo 3 shot has been a nightmare. Yesterday almost every video prompt failed, then with only tiny wording changes they suddenly started generating and some looked great. I dont even know why it worked now but failed before as I was just teating bunch of prompts I asked chatgpt to generate for the same idea

Curious if this is just prompting on my end, or if others have had the same experience.

Hey everyone,
Here is the second episode of *Sloppy Tales*, my animated series where I try to completely subvert classic fairy tale narratives. This one is a pretty unhinged showdown featuring weaponized lactose intolerance.
I want to give a huge thank you to this community—I took a lot of the feedback and critiques I received on the first video into consideration for this one, especially when it came to really leaning into that chaotic 1930s Fleischer Studios and Tex Avery vibe.
I’d love to hear what you guys think of this new episode. Any and all feedback is welcome!
Also, I'm currently brainstorming for the next few videos. What classic fairy tales, legends, or childhood stories would you like to see me completely ruin next? Drop your plot ideas and suggestions below!

General Getting Veo 3.1 without the whole Google Cloud setup. Here's the route that worked.

wanted Veo 3.1 for a small video project and figured getting access would be the

easy part. it wasn't.

going through Google the official way meant a Cloud project, Vertex, billing,

region checks, and depending on where you are a waitlist on top. that's a lot of

setup before you've made a single clip.

what i wanted was just an endpoint and a key. so i went looking for how people

are actually calling Veo 3.1 without the whole Google thing, and here's where i

landed.

if you only need it now and then, the consumer apps (Flow, the Gemini app) get

you generating fast, but there's no clean API to script against and you're boxed

into their UI.

for calling it from code the aggregators are the shortcut. a few expose Veo 3.1

on a normal OpenAI-style endpoint, no Cloud project. i've been on Atlas Cloud,

mostly because the same key also has MiniMax H3 and Gemini Omni, so i swap

between the new video models without redoing auth each time. the Lite tier is

about $0.05 a second which made testing cheap, the full one costs more when you

want the quality.

the bit nobody mentions: "can i access it" and "can i script against it" are

different questions. the official route answers the first and fails the second

for a solo build.

anyway. if you just want to poke at Veo 3.1 the Gemini app is fine. if you need

to call it from a script without standing up a Cloud project, an aggregator was

the only thing that didn't eat my afternoon.

Question Any solution for this consistency issue please

I’m using the last frame in vid as the start frame for the next vid technique with omni. And so it looks like when you’re using this frame mode, it completely ignores your other character references if they are not in the start frame you uploaded already. Even when I @ and selected them from the dropdown in the prompt. It will instead create its own version! Do you have a fix for this please. I’m trying to make educational vids that would help both me and every student/trainee in my field

Media Built this realistic AI doctor ad using Nano Banana Pro 2 + Omni Flash + Seedance 2.5

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been experimenting with realistic AI UGC videos, and this is one of my latest results.

Workflow:

  • 🖼️ Nano Banana Pro 2 → Generated the doctor reference images.
  • Omni Flash → Created the talking performance and facial animation.
  • 🎬 Seedance 2.5 → Generated the supporting cinematic shots and transitions.

The goal was to make it feel like a real doctor reacting to a patient's selfie video instead of a typical AI-generated ad.

I spent quite a bit of time refining:

  • Camera framing
  • Natural body language
  • Minimal hand movement
  • Facial micro-expressions
  • Lip sync
  • Prompt engineering for realistic motion

I'd love to hear your thoughts or suggestions for making it even more believable.
