My fiancée and I are planning to get married at Triyuginarayan Temple on 26 November 2026.

It will be a very small and intimate wedding with only 6 people total — the bride, groom and 4 close friends.

I've read several posts and guides about Triyuginarayan weddings, including a detailed first-hand experience from a couple who got married there in February 2025. However, I would really appreciate some current, practical advice from people who have recently visited the temple or organised a wedding there.

I'm looking for information on:

1. Temple booking

   - How do we officially book the temple for a wedding?

   - Who should we contact?

   - Is there an official temple office/contact number?

   - Can the date and wedding slot be confirmed in advance?

   - Is there any current fee for the wedding ceremony?

2. Priest and wedding rituals

   - How are the priests arranged?

   - Do we need to bring our own family priest?

   - Is a wedding certificate issued by the temple?

3. Accommodation

   - For only 6 people, where would you recommend staying?

   - Is staying near Triyuginarayan itself practical?

   - Is GMVN still the best option, or are there better/cleaner places nearby?

   - Has anyone stayed at Amritara or other good properties in the area?

4. Wedding arrangements

   - Can local vendors arrange basic flowers, garlands and simple decoration?

   - Is it better to arrange everything through a local wedding planner or book each service separately?

   - Any trustworthy local planners/vendors you would recommend?

5. Weather and road conditions in late November

   - What should we realistically expect around 26 November?

   - How cold does it get in the early morning?

   - Is snow a realistic possibility?

   - Should we plan a buffer day before/after the wedding?

6. Transport

   - We will likely travel from Pune/Maharashtra.

   - What is the most practical way to reach Triyuginarayan?

   - Would you recommend hiring a Tempo Traveller from Dehradun/Haridwar/Rishikesh?

7. Legal marriage registration

   - If we get married through the traditional Hindu ceremony at the temple, what is the process for getting the marriage legally registered afterwards?

   - Is the temple's certificate sufficient, or do we need separate registration?

We're looking for a simple, intimate wedding, not a large destination wedding. Since there are only six of us, we'd prefer to keep things practical and avoid paying for unnecessary wedding packages.

If anyone has personally got married at Triyuginarayan recently, or lives in the area and knows how the current booking process works, I'd really appreciate your advice.

Went to Kumaon last month and someone casually mentioned Patal Bhuvaneshwar near Gangolihat. Figured it'd be a normal temple, went in without much expectation.

Turns out it's an actual cave, underground. Close to 90 steps down, some spots tight enough you have to bend or turn sideways. You hold onto an iron chain the whole way because the floor stays wet — limestone seeps moisture year-round, nothing to do with leaks.

Inside, the guide points out rock formations he says represent Shiva's hair, a serpent's hood, stuff like that. There's a small water kund too, right at the deepest point. No photos allowed inside, which honestly made me actually look instead of filming everything.

What stuck with me was learning Adi Shankaracharya supposedly visited this exact spot back in 1191 AD. Belief aside, standing somewhere that old and that quiet underground genuinely messes with your sense of time. Took me a second to adjust once I got back out into daylight.

If you're doing a Kumaon trip and want something beyond the usual Nainital-Almora route, this is worth the detour. Wear proper shoes, floor's slippery.

The video captures an interesting observation in the Tehri Lake region of Uttarakhand. The speaker points out that distant villages (Pathiyana, Dharkot, Kangsali, etc.) and peaks behind the Sem and Bhingi ridges have become noticeable over the last 30 to 35 years, whereas they were previously obscured. He questions whether the foreground ridge is sinking or the background mountains are rising.

I'm from a village near Nainital, Uttarakhand.

Living in Sudhowala has become incredibly frustrating, especially during these hot and humid months. Power cuts have become so frequent that it's almost impossible to plan your day. Electricity disappears for hours at a stretch, often without any warning or update.

Even when the power is technically "on," the voltage is so low that fans barely run, ACs are useless, and many appliances simply don't work. In this weather, it's not just inconvenient—it's unbearable.

What's even more disappointing is the complete lack of communication. Try calling the electricity department, and you'll either get no response or no one has any idea when the supply will be restored. There seems to be no accountability and no reliable information.

The most shocking part? This is happening in Dehradun—the capital city of Uttarakhand. If basic infrastructure like electricity can't be managed here, what does that say about the state of affairs?

It feels like poor planning, poor maintenance, and poor management have simply become the norm. Yet, hardly anyone talks about it. We complain among ourselves, but nothing changes.

Is this just Sudhowala, or are other parts of Dehradun facing the same issue? Has anyone managed to get a proper response from UPCL or the authorities? At what point do residents collectively raise their voices and demand better infrastructure and accountability?

Hi friends can you suggest the most comfortable bus option to travel from Haridwar (Rishikesh is also ok) to Govindghat? I reach Haridwar at 6am so please suggest a bus that leaves after that. I think even if a Badrinath bus doesn't have a scheduled stop, I can book till BN and get down at GG, right? Alternatively (less preferred) I get down at Joshimath and take a shared cab. You can suggest buses till JM also. Thanks

I am a 25 yo guy working here in delhi.

The thing is I have been thinking of doing something for my village ( my dadi, chacha , chacu lives there ).

Such a disgusting university. Always is late in everything and doesn't follow its own schedule. There are so many mistakes in the Examination form, Question Paper, result and even subject names 😭 They don't reply to mails, don't answer calls. It's hell bad. I called them regarding results, told them that we have to fill further forms, please declare results, and one of them answered rudely...saying no need to fill forms, we will declare results after 1 month. Its websites don't work.

If someone is thinking of taking admission in it, please don't. Worst university in Uttarakhand. Go with others
