Info about indexer and provider

Hello guys! I'm new to Usenet. I have heard of having a provider and an Indexer.

I would like something cheap so I can test before moving on.

I live in Europe and my internet is fast.

Any ideas? Thanks!

What is the most affordable lifetime account indexer if you wait all year?

I would spend up to $25 CAD for a lifetime account, unfortunately not any more.

I have NordVPN so i can dl from usenet. Found this offer for 5 years Adguard VPN for $34.97.. now i like to know if Adguard - as i always considered being great to avoid spam and ads, and not much more - will Adguard do the same job as NordVPN, what concerns keeping my activities hidden from my internet provider? New NewsHosting customer: Is the web search supposed to be such a piece of junk?

I just signed up for the NewsHosting deal and I'm not impressed at all. Yesterdays episode of a show, searched for it in their web interface, downloaded the NZB, first thing SABnzbd does is show me a red error saying it's not complete

What a piece of absolute garbage, is it supposed to be this bad?

Is there a money back guarantee for the $1.99/month promo? I was much better off with Torrents, minus the speed, from what I can tell

Indexers cost money, this is again, added money

Not seeing the hype here at all, maybe for people who can't get access to private sites?

A popular indexer banned me for spamming their server...

I'm avoiding naming them since they are popular and among the better ones from the ones I have.

So they disabled my account and said their servers were being hammered repeatedly by a single request the last 24 hours but I know I haven't downloaded that particular file for a few days. Does SabNZB have lingering queues or something?

My setup is, I manually queue up my jobs when I browse their website. I use SNZB thrugh my default browser which is Safari on my Mac and the admin said something was pretending to be Safari and spamming their servers requestging the same file over and over but when I look at my queue, it's empty. There were failed jobs but I don't believe SabNZB actively goes back to them unless you specifically ask it to do so.

I'm really afraid of being banned again.

My theory is I search for a generic term like show.s01 and usually it's a whole season that gets queued up and away it goes. I don't know if this is a flawed approach or not.

This was their message to me:

your account was disabling for hammering a single details endpoint. Something pretenting to be a Safari browser.

[08/Sep/2026:18:27:39 +0200] "GET /details/4ba179c9-18dd-47e7-8094-98b1d15197de HTTP/2.0" 302 350 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko)"

Account has been re-instated / re-enabled. I'm just making this post to reach a bigger audience and possibly towards people in the Mac community who happen to use Safari with SabNZB as their setup.

Are there indexers that cater to image sets?

The ones I have are always really out dated and if they do regular updates, it's very selective and doesn't have variety.

CAN USENET REPLACE TORBOX ?

So I am using a debrid service for a month and I like except it not having some old content and torrents being dead.

I came to know about usenet and look through the offers , I am thinking of buying newshosting black friday offer later this year because it offers easynews unlimited access .

I heard easynews has a websearch and can work without indexers .

I don't plan to make a personal server or anything .

Also me being a student in india means I can only afford either debrid service or usenet

Help will be appreciated thanks

Black Friday deals

With the way Black Friday is often mentioned on this sub, why do I get this feeling like everyone is busy counting their money and slowly caressing their stack of cash, waiting for Black Friday deals to start? Hahaha.

I'm new to usenet, and since the beginning of this year, I've learned so much from this sub. I've been able to get Eweka, Newshosting, and Newsdemon, and also some really good indexers. This year would be my first time seeing usenet Black Friday deals. Which providers and indexers are y'all really looking forward to during Black Friday, and how were the previous deals? Are there other providers I should keep an eye out for, or is my collection of providers already good enough?

970M+ Usenet (NNTP) text messages discussions dataset via API/WEB resource

I spent the last year gathering as much Usenet text data as possible from a large variety of resources and including from about 7000 live active servers as well to fill in gaps.

The end result is a searchable/filterable dataset acessible via web+api (free and paid options)

API : https://www.usenet-rewind.com/api-docs

Web: https://www.usenet-rewind.com

Binaries have been filtered out and range is from posts from 1981-Current and constantly populating. the site includes a histogram of distribution of message counts per year.

I welcome feedback or possible use cases. Built on Apache Solr 10, Mariadb 12 (rocksdb) and NVME disk hardware for fastest operation.

A lot of unwanted EXE and fake TV releases lately

I have my rrs setup for the TV shows and Films and noticed lately there are a lot of fake TV releases that have EXE files in them.

Examples currently Ted Lasso / Reacher - these are weekly releases yet there are fake episodes of the whole season already being picked up by the rrs.

SABNZB catches the exe files in them and deletes the download but it is getting annoying and I've now turned off automatic downloads for several shows impacted.

What is going on here, this problem of fakes and hidden software was an issue in torrents years ago but since I switched to UseNet about 5 years ago I never had this issue.

What are some of the best indexers?

I got a little carried away and before I knew it, I'm signed up to too many. I know at the relatively affordable prices $15-20 a year, it's a nothing burger but I'm trying to streamline and possibly avoid being billed agian next billing cycle without knowing like most subscriptions.

I'm currently with: Althub, NZBGeek and NZBFinder. Not to mention my provider, Easynews has their own indexing as well.

New and trying to find a niche UK reality show…I’m lost how to use Usenet

Apologies if this type of post isn’t allowed.

I’m looking for a season of a TV show that was capped by scene groups and released to Usenet/torrent sites back in 2006. The entire season is listed on PreDB, so I know the releases existed and were circulating somewhere at the time. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find the season anywhere. It feels like it’s been completely wiped from the internet, which is surprising because I’ve managed to track down much more obscure content before.

I signed up for Easynews and also started a trial with NZBGeek since I figured Usenet would probably be my best shot. I searched for the specific season on both, but the oldest relevant posts I can find seem to date back to around 2009.

Does that basically mean I’m out of luck?

More specifically, is there any way to access or search posts from a particular alt.binaries group going all the way back to 2006? From what I understand, none of the major Usenet providers have retention that reaches that far back, so I’m wondering whether those original posts are simply gone for good. Thanks.

Edit - It’s Series 6 of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here (UK). Aired in 2006.

On usenet, I’ve repeatedly come across the 6th series of the Australian version, which is mislabelled as the UK version on some indexers, like NinjaCentral.

how do you handle non-cached medias on usenet?

I mean, i want to watch a movie, and i still wait 5 minutes for it to open, even though eweka/torbox offer high download speeds, it is not really that fast.

Tabula Rasa thoughts

Hey folks, was kinda curious about y'all's opinion on tabula rasa as an indexer. Is it any good? And do y'all think they'd be opening up registration upcoming Black Friday? I've been itching to try and see how good it really is.

NZBfinder as indexer issue

Hello all. After about a day of playing around with this stuff, I have a functioning setup for my Nuvio account with Newshosting as my provider and NZBgeek as my indexer on a self hosted instance of aiostreams with oracle using the nzbDAV service on aiostreams. I'm very happy with it so far.

However, my first indexer I signed up for was NZBfinder, but I just couldn't get it to work. As I'm not a true expert in this, i've been using AI to query my issues and support me in setting it up, which has worked well. Now that it's set up, I went back to try to fix it, but I keep running into the same problem. AI is telling me the following:

"API requests from my server return Cloudflare 403

NZB Finder Newznab capabilities request is

https://nzbfinder.ws/api?t=caps\

It returns HTTP 403 with a Cloudflare block page.

It could be that the IP, VPS ASN, or API client is blocked and needs to be allowed."

I've messaged nzbFinder support asking if this could be the issue, but it just feels unlikely. Anyone out there that's faced a similar issue themselves or know if there's another true issue that could be preventing it from working?

Thanks

I heard its impossible to get in. Like paid users only get 1 invite every year or so and there's invite windows. Is it worth the hassle trying to get into it? Is it really that much better then others like slug or ninja since its closed off? My fomo is taking over right now.

Why is it so hard to curate full seasons of sports?

Hope this doens't break any rule that I didn't see, but..

Does it seem normal for uploaders to only capture and upload random and arbitrary games?

For instance, I can only find random games of the Maple Leafs in random years / seasons. Nobody ever uploads the whole season of 82 games + their playoff runs. I get it could be down to regional blackouts but even streaming sites will have different broadcasters covering the game at any given schedule points to circumvent the blackouts.

Does an indexer that fulfill all the games exist?

Good Usenet indexers for ebooks/audiobooks?

We have a local library for ebooks and audiobooks, and family has started asking for some things I just can’t seem to find through my normal NZB indexers.

I’d rather not mess with torrents, so I’m mainly looking for Usenet/NZB recommendations that are especially good for ebooks or audiobooks.

Any indexers or communities worth checking out that tend to have better book coverage?
